I sent a message through yelp and got a response the next day that it would be $350. He then said that before proceeding he would have to inspect the vehicle because it was over 20 years old and asked for my address, so I gave it to him. Four days later he tells me he can't do it because it wasn't a running vehicle. Funny enough I was driving the vehicle back from the store when I got the text. It has been 5 days of run around and poor communication and now I am back to square one to find someone to replace my cracked window. Chips mobile Glass Repair was a giant waste of my time. REPLY to his response: I contacted you about a 2001 Lexus. I gave you my phone number! My most charitable guess is that you came to my house when I wasn't home, without contacting me first, and saw a 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser project sitting by my shop and somehow could not tell the difference between the two cars and still wouldn't call or ask any questions. If you answered your phone or called anyone back this could have been sorted out in 2 minutes! This has been a ridiculously frustrating experience and very unprofessional behavior. I called him to sort it out and he cussed and yelled at me and wouldn't listen to a thing I said. This was shockingly horrible behavior.

Safelite's quote…read morewas substantially better than Independence's, but when I went to schedule my windshield replacement with Safelite, they tacked on additional charges that made Independence much more competitive. I still paid a few dollars more with Independence, but that feels a lot better than dealing with Safelite's shady quoting practice. In any case, the Independence installers clearly knew their business, and did a great job installing my new windshield.

MK responded with a price point that was agreeable and we set a time and day for them to come over. This was a new experience for me because I'm used to pulling into a brick and mortar building for automotive issues. Well, MK Auto Glass is more of a portable service which probably helps keep costs down. They came to my home with everything they needed in a company van. The service tech obviously knew what he was doing. He went about his business very professionally in removing various components to access the glass, specialized tools for removing and cleaning off old sealants and debris, cleaning off the framework, wiping and applying new sealants.... This was one of those situations where they are displaying total competence and quality workmanship. The job is done and all is perfect with the new glass, including realigning the rear view mirror. Later noticed a plastic piece of my door missing and whenever the door is closed you can hear all the broken glass inside it rattling around. As I dont have the tools or skills to be able to clean them out myself it just feels like a job not all the way done.
