I really wanted to like this place, especially since it is black owned, but my experience here was subpar from the beginning and it only got worse. I was in town hanging out with my brother and we decided to pull up on the spot because it was black owned, and he heard that it was a good look. However, evidently they were hosting a private event and that seemed to be the main focus of all of the service in the restaurant, including all of the bartenders. I ended up standing at the bar for over 15 minutes, trying to get the attention of the bartender to take my order, but they seemed more interested in closing the open bar for the private party down. When I finally was acknowledged, it was only to let me know that they would still be the delayed serving us drinks and then from there I waited another 10 minutes while the bartender proceeded to slowly but painstakingly make five drinks (just in case you do decide to come. The guy bartender was a 6 foot plus chubby dude with glasses and the female bartender was a fair skinned sister with a ponytail down to her waist, you won't miss them). Now average price of a drink is $15 in this spot so I was plenty prepared to play a pretty hefty tab but when I finally got my tab, I noticed that they tacked on a 20% automatic gratuity! Now remember I was the only person ordering at the bar, most of my friends were standing close to the door, Nobody was seated, and we were not served by any additional waitresses or service staff. So I am really confused as to how bad service, and ordering at the bar prompts a 20% gratuity?! Needless to say, after paying the $130 plus tab, I then realized that two of the people who received drinks ended up not drinking them because they felt like they tasted so bad. This was a real mess and one that I hope not to experience again. However, I do think the name is pretty accurate. Nowhere special is definitely nowhere special.

Excellent service. Such a cute place. Music was hitting and the food was great! We went for happy hour and had so much food for such a low price. Street parking is available.

Soul Roll. The idea was great but taste was a miss.

To begin, we were pleasantly surprised that our table for 10 was ready as soon as we arrived, expecting to wait a bit for such a large party. Once we were seated, our server Oliver immediately came over to explain the tapas menu and get our drink orders. Tapas are priced $7-$20 à la carte, or you can order different tasting menu tiers based on what your group is hungry for. We ordered the $35 tasting menu (tapas only) and it was more than enough food! We tried the whipped sheep cheese, flank steak, garlic mushrooms, shrimp, patatas bravas, salmon, and more! We also ordered a pitcher of red sangria for the table that was delicious. The incredible food and the attentive service made Barcelona the perfect meal for a group of old friends to catch up. After visiting Barcelona, your wallet might not be happy, but your heart sure will!

Absolutely love this place and have been multiple times, the only reason I can't give five stars…read more.. is reservation system. Incredibly frustrating. What is the point of making a reservation if you are going to be seated 45 minutes after your scheduled reservation time? But if a guest checks in even slightly after their reservation time, they can be removed from the list, charged a fee or, in some cases, even banned from the reservation app. The expectations should go both ways. Unfortunately, the host experience made the situation even more frustrating. I watched the red haired host at the front desk seat people who appeared to be friends ahead of parties who had reservations. I even heard her say, "There's no manager tonight, I'll seat you guys now. They're putting silverware down." Meanwhile , we were still waiting well past our reservation time. Our only saving grace was our server, Shauna. This restaurant needs to hold onto her. She was an absolute light, and her personality, attentiveness, and recommendations completely saved the vibe of our night. She deserves recognition for the experience she provided. We will absolutely come back for Shauna but the restaurant as a whole could really benefit from a new host rotation and a serious look at how reservations are being handled. Don't let your hosts run a little high school hierarchy of seating their friends before reservations and returning locals. If you're going to take reservations, we honor them.

I walked by it a couple times oblivious to the magic inside, I am so glad I took the suggestion and finally walked in. First off it is a wine bar, and really thats it. Full license for liquor and beer, but they are focused on wine and they know their stuff. It was so nice to be served wine by someone in a tshirt and without the snobbiness of terrior, just a glass and company to enjoy it. On to the details: There is a menu, half just bites like olives but there is a solid burger toward the bottom, They have a patio out back (I heard, but well over ninety degrees even at night I took their word for it. The pool table in back was nice, but a couple glasses if wine in, I know my limits. There was a couple recod players and a great vinyl collection in the corner, but the soundtrack playing was great so I never needed to peruse the collection. Once the place filled up (and it did, apparently it doesn't need any signs for the ones in the know to find it) it dod get pretty warm, the A/C units barely kept up, but it was neevr unpleasant. Word is the back patio also has another building that may become a cocktail bar in the future and I can't wait for that...

I reserved here again because I felt their menu covered all my picky eaters, while expecting the service and ambiance to provide an elevated dining experience. We waited just a few minutes to be seated while our table was prepared. Our server Rachel was super-sweet and attentive. We started with the Patisserie Board. The scone and banana muffin were very good, but the tart in the middle was somewhat tasteless. For our entrées, each family member ordered something different, but the highlights were the Shrimp & Grits, Steak Frites and Sourdough Pancakes. We found everything nicely seasoned, at the perfect temperature and delicious. The portions were just right. I noticed the manager checking in with customers throughout our time there, but he kept skipping our table. I found this odd since the restaurant was less than 50% occupied and we were the largest party. He was standing by the hotel entrance as we left, I made a point to thank him as I walked by, which he then reciprocated. The valet guys continue to be very friendly. They greeted us when we arrived and wished us a great day when we left.

The owner, Taylor, was also tending the bar during our visit, and he walked us through the concept while also providing thoughtful wine recommendations. We both started with a glass of crisp and cold prosecco, and then switched over to try Vino Volta, which kind of tasted like a good craft beer's bubbly cousin. They even have a few light bites on their menu if you need something to snack on - but since they're located in L&L Market, there's plenty of other food options nearby as well! The curse of Rumours continues!…read more I don't know that any business can survive this address. My first BW review of the year and it seems to have come as a surprise. Whispers abound as to whether the issue at VG was a rent hike or whether the owner just lost interest. In any event, it's the same sad story at the corner of 12th and Woodland. And that's too bad because VG acquitted itself nicely. On a Friday in mid-spring it was the exact right place I wanted to be to catch up with a friend. That backyard has been the stuff of legends for every iteration for a reason. If you've been here for a while, you know the score: walk in the front, smile, be greeted, ask for a table outside. That's just what we did. But before that we got drinks. Being a wine bar and being happy hour and being a Friday we went all in on the house red sangria. Served in a pleasantly large goblet, this goodie jar of wine and fruit did the job of quenching thirst and spurring conversation. To add to the libations, we settled on a series of bites: whipped feta (with sourdough -- and every bit of decadent as described in other reviews), olive tapenade (a briny, mound of oil, citrus and herbs) and (skinny) fries with parmesan & white truffle oil. Right?? What a perfect way to end the work week and begin the weekend. We had wonderful service from Abby and stayed on premises well into sundown. There was a steady crowd throughout our visit so I don't think a lack of business was the COD. Whatever the reason, it sort of boggles the mind that a wine bar concept can't stick around in a neighborhood and location that seems to crave it. That curse might be real.

Sure, I enjoy collecting the…read morepoints, but the real reward is finding places I probably would have walked right past otherwise. Music Row Bar & Grill was one of those discoveries, and I'm glad I made the reservation. Located in the beautiful Music Row neighborhood near Vanderbilt University, it's an easy stop whether you're a local or exploring Nashville on foot. The restaurant has its own parking lot, which is always a welcome bonus, and the dining room strikes a nice balance between polished and relaxed. I settled into a comfortable banquette and immediately felt at home. I started with the Fig Salad, a mountain of fresh greens topped with figs, goat cheese, toasted almonds, and a light honey vinaigrette. After several days of barbecue and protein-heavy meals, it was exactly what I needed. Fresh, colorful, and generously portioned. For my entrée, I ordered the skirt steak from the tapas menu with beet chimichurri. What a great choice. The steak was tender and flavorful, while the earthy sweetness of the beets gave the chimichurri an unexpected twist that worked beautifully. It's the kind of dish that reminds you why trying something new is always worth it. Service was warm, attentive, and never rushed. It was clear many of the guests were locals greeting familiar faces, which always says something about a neighborhood restaurant. The atmosphere felt authentic rather than touristy. The best part? Just a short walk away is Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. Skip dessert here and stroll over afterward. Dinner followed by artisan ice cream makes for a pretty perfect Nashville evening. Life is too short to eat the same meal twice or skip exploring a neighborhood you've never visited. Whether you're traveling across the country or just across town, find your next great meal. You never know when you'll stumble onto a place you'll be recommending long after the trip is over.

Again I the prices felt a little high for what you get but they have since lowered some of their prices. Overall though food was hot and fresh and very tasty! I would recommend this restaurant to friends and am excited to try their happy hour next time I go!
