Our waitress didn't give us the impression she wanted to service us. As someone who works in the service industry myself, this was quite disappointing. Just finished a relaxing brunch with the family at Postino's 12 South. Also, just found out this is a chain. Since it is the only one in Nashville, much less TN, it's a stand alone to me and quite good. Twelve South has a very active eating culture with many favorites. Parking is challenging but the walks aren't too aweful. Postino's brunch is much better than the well known one down the street. The atmosphere is open and relaxed, not crammed. The outdoor seating looks great but not on the chilly day we were here. Reservations are recommended on the weekend and we had them but they wouldn't have been necessary before noon. We were seated by our server upon our arrival. The wine list covers a wide range of flavors but isn't very deep. The full bar can conjure anything. Kyle came back serveral times to get multiple orders. Menu items are closer to tapas to be enjoyed while drinking, so Postino's might not be your number 1 dining location but great for a gather place or pre-dinner cocktail. We popped around the menu trying different things. For us, the bruschetta is reminiscent of smorrebrod, Danish open-faced sandwiches. Those are a hit with us. Everything felt house made with carefully thought out flavors. Tops was the salmon pesto bruschetta and the vanilla glaze dipping sauce for the donut bites. Happy hour every day until 5pm with $6 glasses of wine, $6 PITCHERS of beer, and $24 bottles of wine (typically ~$50) On Mondays and tuesdays they also do a deal where when you buy a bottle of wine you get a free bruschetta flight. (Pretty sure it's after 8 pm) I get a bruschetta flight each time I go. If you're gluten free make sure you ask them to only lightly cook the bread or it will burn every time. My boyfriend and I went to Postino's for a little Saturday lunch date. The restaurant was packed when we got there so it was a great thing that we were recommended to make a reservation for the weekend. I'd definitely recommend doing that. Our waiter was wonderful, so friendly, and so helpful with recommendations on what we should order. While this place is known for their Bruschettas, we both opted for their paninis. I got the Prosciutto & Brie Panini and my boyfriend got the Chicken & Mozzarella Panini. I was really wanting something a little sweet and salty, and this was perfect for that. My boyfriend who loves sun-dried tomatoes, loved his as well. The sandwiches are also paired with your choice of a romaine salad or potato chips. We both got the salad, and that is definitely the way to go. The salad was flavorful and paired so well with the sandwiches. Also you can choose whether you want focaccia or ciabatta bread for your sandwiches. I was recommended to get the ciabatta with mine and our server said that either option is great with the Chicken & Mozzarella so my boyfriend chose the focaccia so we could try both. Everything was so yummy! We had such a wonderful time. The only downside is that since it is in 12 South, it is a little challenging to find parking. There is free street parking, but you may have to walk a little. 12 South in general is a great place to walk around so find a nice day and it's a perfect for that! read more

Of all the restaurant chains that opened locations in Nashville last year, Postino was definitely the one I was looking forward to the most. I've been to their OG location in Phoenix several times, and was patiently waiting for their expansion to Music City. The restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived, but I appreciate that the bar is open seating. It's also important to note that 11 AM - 5 PM every day is happy hour, and that includes weekends! Dani was our bartender and server, and she had some great recommendations for our meal. We ordered a bruschetta board, which is a perfect shareable for any size group. My favorite is the sweet pepper jelly with goat cheese, but I also really enjoyed the French onion toast too. We also tried a side of their tots ... which may be the most underrated thing on their menu. These are incredible. They're sort of a mix between latkes and fried mashed potatoes ... I could've just eaten a plate of these for lunch and I would have been perfectly content. Finding out that another one of my favorite Arizona spots is now in Nashville was not on my bingo card, but I am so glad they've opened. Takeout service was good. Packaged well.
