    The hummus

My first time here I arrived with one thing in mind. Finding a place that was serving Strathcona gin. They did not have any, however upon the recommendation of my gin enthusiast friend I tried Tanqueray 10. I was delightfully surprised at how delicious it was in a tall glass with tonic. This is a elegant place to have a few starters and drinks. We sat in a little nook with a window behind me. The staff was attentive and polite. It was an excellent place to grab a drink after work with a bud. The hummus was sweeter then I've had before and topped with green onions. It's a beautiful and relaxing place to grab a bite and chill.

Whisky galore! This place has a super home-y feeling with big furniture squeezed into the small space and a glow of candles placed in tumblers scattered on each table. The windows are lined with box seats to make booths that are very cozy. The ambience is dark by candle light and makes for a great date destination. The location is ideal (right off Jasper Ave), it has a good whisky selection, indie music and a cool crowd. Perfect late night drink stop.

Wow! This place is a real gem. Service is excellent and the servers are very personable and knowledgeable. The atmosphere inside is cozy and comfy, great for a gathering with friends or a date. TVs are there but not intrusive to the coziness. The food is amazing! Small menu but such an amazing and fresh selection. The goat cheese appetizer is amazing. The souvlaki platter was wonderful as were the paninis and salad. Meals are $15-20. Small tap beer selection of 8 taps but a good variety. Lots of wines and other alcohol types to choose from. I can't say enough about how much I loved this place.

After the Deadmonton Haunted House we needed to calm our nerves. Around the corner from the Paramount theatre, this little lounge was a great place to chill out. We had a reservation for our group of 18 and they setup a section of couches and part of the bar for our party. The Great... Our server was awesome! She was friendly and attentive. Everything came quickly and she handled the large group well. The atmosphere was relaxed but trendy. The lounge has a warm, almost rustic feel. The bar selection was good. Wine, beer, scotch, cocktails. Whatever your drink of choice. The Average... Our food was just okay. The flavours fell a little flat. We ordered the Cask Club Panini with Garlic Roasted Potatoes and The Lotus (a chicken coconut curry). Both lacked taste and the chicken had a rubbery texture. My suggestion... go for a drink at the Cask & Barrel. Meet a few friends or take a date but skip the food.

Lots to say and easy to meet people to say it to!

The seating and laid back atmosphere is great! That coupled with an interesting drink and food menu made me consider this place a great choice for another round! I may just wear a trendy top and style my hair to fit in with the class act staff that served us as well.

    Smokey Hummus with Naan. Awesome.

To make matters worse, she started spamming her entire friends list with invites to EVERY SINGLE EVENT at this bar. Clearly Whiskey Rock is desperate for customers if they have to initiate a hostile takeover of a staff's personal social media accounts. And is anyone really surprised? They don't offer anything the rest of the bars in Edmonton haven't already been providing for years, except local favorites like The Pint and Hudson's just do it better (and I've never had to report either establishment for harassment on Facebook! Imagine that!). At first I was embarrassed for my friend, but now I'm just embarrassed for this bar. What a disaster. Go anywhere else but here.

I was there on a weekday so maybe it was less insane than normal. The staff were good and like always, no harm on the eyes. The drinks cost the same as always and they have a dance floor, located right in the middle so everyone can watch you either make an Ass of your self or be the guy that all wanna dance with. They have shooter girls, pour straight into your mouth, beer tub girls etc. This place shares alot of similarities with other bars, but dont let the location scare you away. Check check it out.

We were seated near the window, which provided a beautiful view of the river valley. The servers are very quick, professional, and friendly. I ordered a spiced orchard mule and truffle gouda fries. My drink was made with high quality ingredients and was flavourful. My fries were perfectly cooked- crisp and golden, and the gouda and truffle oil provided a rich flavour. It is lovely inside with fireplaces, comfortable couches and seating. Reminds me of an elegant cigar room. I would like to come here during the summer, because the patio has one of the best views of the river valley. Service was great. Our server came repeatily to make sure that we were comforable and happy with what we had ordered. A breakdown of what we had HEIRLOOM PUMPKIN SOUP - coconut cream, toasted pepitas, plantain chips ORGANIC SALMON - Pan seared salmon, Thai Laksa sauce, tiger prawns, tender bok choy, rice noodles, crushed nuts and NANAIMO BAR MARTINI Custard cream, coconut crumb, chocolate ganache inspired by the traditional Canadian dessert from Vancouver Island Food was delicous. The standout was the salmon. Delicous Laksa sauce. Absolutely beautiful. The Nanaimo bar martini was good, but extremely rich. I would say if you are not a huge sweet fan try something else. However, if you love chocolate, this one is for you. For us this was fairly pricey so it would be a once a year treat.
