I tried again still could not find the problem. I stumbled upon community I always thought they were just a small shop. They gave me a quote what they thought was the issue. They said it would take about an hour. The car took over 4 hours more complicated than they thought. Avoid at all cost. This is not a professional repair shop its more like a back yard mechanic down…read morethe street. I had my power steering pump replaced on my 1995 mustang, no computers, no plastic covers, didn't have to remove the whole front end of the car to get to it, just a straight forward wrench job. I get a call during the repair and Meineke asked me for a deposit for parts. I gave them $1,000 bucks, the manager wasn't happy and kept asking me for my credit card, I refused to give him one so he pulls out his own card to pay for a new pully. I asked for a receipt and he give me some print out saying payment pending and on my shop receipt he rights down a cash payment of $875 not the $1,000 I gave him he just subtracted the amount for the pully and the pully is not listed on my receipt. So the stupid thing is that they destroyed my old pully when they try to remove it using the wrong tools and they had to cut off the old one. My question was why am I paying for a part they destroyed in the removal process? I get the car back and find that the new power steering pump is wabbling and the shaft is bent. looking closer I noticed that where the pully goes onto the shaft, has medal shaving and blown o-rings, and I can hear the bearing in the pump. I show the manager he insisted that he was the one that worked on the car and that it was all normal and nothing to see here. No offer to fix it just its good enough. I had other repairs done at the same time but almost $2,500 bucks in repairs and I get a car that is unsafe and undrivable. They don't want to fix their mistakes, honor warranties and a good enough back yard mechanic when I paid for a professional mechanic to fix my classic car.
