Had a loud squealing noise on my wife's ram truck for couple months, not sure where is was coming from, called and talked Matt, he said they didn't have any available openings until April 1 but he told me to come by so he can at least inspect it and see where is was coming from. I left the truck there and in an hour he called back and told me it was the wheel bearing, on the driver side, he told me the passenger side was ok but may have to change in a few months. He gave us a quote and we agreed to do the whole front. He even did it the next day. Unfortunately something did happened to my wife's truck while being there (but no one or company is perfect right?) Communication was average given they are a small yet busy shop. they do quality work and past visits have been respectful and positive, until i picked my car up this last time. rodent feces were on the wheel and dash. they apologized, which i appreciate. not sure how an animal got inside, or if the windows were left down by the shop. 0/10 stars now. read more

I've been going to Nowka's for a few years now, so this review is long overdue. If you want an honest shop with decent prices this is the place to go! They have worked on several vehicles of mine, and I have never had issues with them. Their techs are knowledgeable, and they care about their customers. Every time I have someone ask me for a mechanic or where I get my work done I always send them to Nowka's. I consider Rob and a few other of his techs friends now. They make you feel like you are in the family. I value their time and experience put into this business and it's obvious they care too. Sometimes they get busy, but they are definitely worth the wait if you can put something off! read more

I would have given Nowka's a solid four stars before our last experience with them but thanks to that experience, we will not be giving them return business. They are a bit overpriced but we were willing to pay it because they'd always taken such good care of us. When our van was stolen and the steering column torn apart leaving it virtually totaled, we had trouble with people saying they were going to come pick it up but not following through. It sat in the Nowka's lot for weeks and they didn't threaten us with storage once. We went back to them several times after that with our new van until this last time they charged us nearly $400 for a new alternator which worked only long enough to get the van home. Of course they were willing to put in another no charge. We tried to get it there without a tow and nearly made it but it gave out within sight of the garage and just wouldn't go any further. With a highway in the way, pushing was out of the question so we had to tow. So now we're wasting not only time and energy on our not-so-fixed van but another eighty bucks. We figured the shop would cover it. They would not. Their logic is that it was a manufacturer's malfunction and they'd get reimbursed for the faulty alternator but that they wouldn't be able to get the money for the tow so they wouldn't reimburse us for it. My feeling is that it is not our fault that the alternator didn't work. And it may not be the shop's fault either, but they are the ones who are the experts here and could have had a chance at foreseeing an issue. Not only that, but they are the agents between the manufacturer and us. By providing us a guarantee, which they did, they took on the responsibility of any costs associated with something going wrong with the alternator. Besides, it is eighty bucks! A drop in the bucket when considering all the money we've handed over to them in the past and would have in the future. We would have happily remained loyal to them for many years to come. read more

My family has done alot of business with Nowka's, I fully recommend them. My first car was a 97 suzuki sidekick, and it had a series of electrical problems, Nowka's found the problem and fixed it under the estimate. I finally wrecked that car's engine and bought a replacement motor, Nowka inspected it for free. I only wish I paid them to install it instead of trying to do it myself. After I bought another suzuki there was problems with the TCC lockup clutch and a misfiring cylinder, Nowka's fixed it up for less then 500 bucks and it's running like a Champ! I highly recommend business with Nowka's, Bob and his crew are the best mechanics I've used for japanese cars. read more

Started going there almost 15 years ago, excellent service, but now they are finding more problems every time I needed repairs. The last straw was when the van needed a new serpentine belt replacement. I was told they needed to check the vavles, as they may be damage because of cylinders may have hit them. After the additional cost of removing the head, they found they were ok. I later found out that the Mercury company had a design change that prevented that from happening on the Nissan engines. So I paid extra for something that they should have known. I will no longer go to them. PERIOD... TO MUCH MONEY FOR ME TO LOSE. read more

Nowka's has really gone downhill in recent years. Unfortunately my car was totally and completely miss-diagnosed autumn 2013. I was told my Subaru Forester needed a new transmission. ($3500+ if rebuilt) I was told that the car was tested with appropriate equipment up on the hydro lift! Fortunately I happened onto a Subaru technician who said it was the wheel bearing! I will never use him again, although I had been a regular for years. Nowka's had just completed another "fix" that was very questionable but that I let slide.
