We were introduced to NRebozo when they were at their previous location in Oak Park and have been coming back at least once a year since. First, we always feel welcome when we come. Chef greets everyone at their table and personally goes over the menu. He is enthusiastic, engaging, exciting, and proud of his creations. Just going is part of the experience! The menu is not expansive and it is not a typical taco burrito store. This is a place where chef is proud of his personal creations. His premier menu item are his various mole sauces on enchilada; 40 different recipes, many his own creations. He serves up 6 enchilada with different rotating sauces. Additionally, he typically has 2 very creative daily specials which our foody friends enjoy. (I am always tempted to order the specials, but always seem to return to the enchiladas and taste from the others plates. This is a place to go for unique Mexican food. Chef always says thank you for supporting his restaurant. What a nice personal touch. read more

I always enjoy coming here. Paco makes our dining experience even better. As I waited for my friend, who was 30 minutes late, I enjoyed a wonderful cocktail - Corn Charco - crunchy chips & salsa, and chafing with Paco My friend is vegetarian so, for the pleasure of sharing dishes, I choose to forseak meats for the night. We shared the Fiesta Mole enchiladas plate with 6 different types of mole including their original Pobleno and Pipian, and Chile Nogada (one of my favorite). They use, for the Chile and one of the enchiladas, Flor de Jamaica - Hibiscus Flowers. The texture was tender and chewy like pulled, the look was like stewed meat, and the flavor was a subtle sour and slightly bitter picking up the spices. It was delicious I had a second cocktail, Disaronno Agave Old Fashioned, excellent pairing well with our vegetarian meal For dessert, we shared flan, a coffee-flavored flan, not that sweet and the texture was more like cheesecake than flan. Very good. The space is small, and it gets a little loud, so I like to go early, and the food and drinks are worth my one-hour drive from the west burbs. NRebozo is always a great experience. The food is always top quality and unlike anything you can get elsewhere. The drinks, but alcohol and mocktail, are truly worth it! The only way I eat here is by allowed Chef Paco to choose the mole sampler for me. I tell him that I an allergic to dairy, but I'm fine with everything else. He pairs the meat with the mole of his choice and I have never regretted it. The restaurant is cozy and clean and doesn't seem to get too loud, even when it's full. NRebozo is one of the greatest restaurants in the Western Suburbs. Chef Paco is wonderful, friendly, caring, and kind. The drinks are incredible too. I highly recommend the Fiesta Moles with cheese, so you can get a feel for each flavor. I also love the Cancun Grill fajitas with cactus. Every dish is great though. The interior is beautiful and feels like a high end supper club in the city. I can't recommend this place enough. I go at least twice a month. My kids love it too! This was such a great place to eat at. Chef Paco came by our table to tell us about the menu, and it's always a treat talking with someone who's passionate about what they do, and also cares deeply that you have a good experience. We had the sope with hibiscus, which had interesting flavors, and the fiesta mole, which were amazing, and also very fun, all of the different mole sauces as well as the variety of vegetarian fillings. At his recommendation, we also got the flan for dessert, which was absolutely delicious. The inside of the restaurant was also nice, with some great artwork on the walls. The only downside is that the timings are a bit inconvenient if you don't live nearby -- really wish they had a lunch as well as dinner option. I'm still thinking about the meal days later, though, so will have to make my way back soon. I haven't found anything else like it in the Chicagoland area. read more

Creative ingredients rather than traditional used in surprisingly delicious ways. Prices on high end . Not for young children unless outdoor, daytime seating parking is plentiful and great neighborhood to walk in. We had a wonderful experience at NRebozo. Service was great, food and drinks were unique and delicious and the ambiance was very pleasant. This was our first time here, and I was surprised at how empty it was on a Saturday night by 8 pm (two large parties had just left, and there were only a couple of smaller parties by that time). It definitely deserves to be packed! We ordered the Fiesta Mole (highly recommend) and the shrimp fajitas (as expected, this was good but nothing special). I wish we hadn't eaten so many chips so we could have had room to try the Chile Poblano, but the salsa was really good and perfectly spicy, so we couldn't stop ourselves! We don't go out to dinner much, but when we do in the future, NRebozo will be at the top of our list! read more

First off, the owner is very friendly and personable. He was very attentive, informative, and full of energy during our entire time in the restaurant. He was definitely a highlight of the experience. The food was no slouch either. We had the house margarita, made with honey and a hibiscus margarita. Both of these were insanely refreshing and flavorful. I recommend both. The sope with hibiscus was a random order that I decided on because of the owner's enthusiasm about it. I honestly don't know how they got the flavor for this dish, but I haven't had anything like it before. A must-have appetizer. Finally, the fiesta moles were a great end to the meal. This dish is also hyped up by the owner. He says he only makes a certain amount each day, so if that's true, I'm glad I got to try them. There are 6 separate flavors to enjoy with this dish. Everything was so expensive. The drinks were expensive and very small. The fajitas were over $30 and all you got was meat and vegetables; Nothing came with it such as sour cream, guacamole, salsa or anything else. Chef Paco is great, but how is he in charge of every single table? You didn't know who your waiter was and couldn't get help. Everything took forever. Our appetizer was over $24 and was some queso with shrimp. It was good, but it cost more than an average meal at other restaurant I won't be going back. read more

I love this restaurant. I've been here on several occasions to celebrate birthdays or for a date night with my husband. Chef Paco goes to every table to highlight the specials. Fancy, fancy! I've been dining at New Rebozo since around the time it opened. I've been here to celebrate birthdays, class reunions, and wedding anniversaries. The food not only is a standout, but I adore Chef Paco. Through a few friends I heard they moved to a new location up the street; the warned me that it was different ambiance-wise, but the food was like an old friend. The ambiance is strikingly different. Where the old location was colorful, festive, and adorned with lots of items, the new place is sleek and sophisticated with subway tile walls and vintage light fixtures. I know they took over for another restaurant, so I assume a lot of the decor is influenced by that. To start, we had a round of drinks and an appetizer. I had a mezcal margarita and my friends ordered the portabella appetizer and they loved it; at least one mistook the meaty flavor for a meat dish. Chef Paco insisted I try it, so I ate the filling, which was OMG and skipped the mushroom part, which I don't care for. For my main, I ordered the Enchiladas Indigenas. It's not the first time I've had it, but it never fails to disappoint. I look forward to many more years of dining here. read more

Holy Mole! Ambiance is lovely! Look up when you enter! Head Chef Paco actually comes to the table to tell you about the specials and the MOLES! We split the appetizer's specials which were delicious. Three out of the four of us got the Fiesta Moles with 6 different MOLES! They were a mix of traditional and unique like plum, hazelnut and sweet potato!! Very tasty. One member got a margarita that had some spicy rim and it was very complex and flavorful. While Chef comes to the table for a very personal experience, other staff fell flat. I'm so embarrassed that I did not know about this restaurant while I lived in the area! I thought it was a new restaurant that my friends suggested. My friends and I had a reunion of sorts- it's been about 18 years since we've been together in the same room! They accommodated a group of 11 and we were definitely the loudest in the restaurant (sorry about that!) We enjoyed the food while we laughed about things we did in high school. I had the margarita with the delicious hibiscus flowers, shared empanadas, had one of the specials (Chile Nogado) and the chocolate jalapeño ice cream. The chef was just so friendly and welcoming. OMG! My wife and I had a wonderful evening a few weeks back. Decided last minute to visit New Rebozo and sit at the bar. Wonderful service by our bartender. She was so helpful and made amazing drinks. My wife had the Skinny Margarita ( she said there was nothing skinny about it) and I had a house old fashion. Fabulous! We started with the queso fundido de crema and OMG. We split the chicken fajitas and they were perfect. Ended with some dessert after dinner drinks. Such a good night. We'll be back. read more

I was in town for Thanksgiving and happily, had a chance to visit NRebozo in their new location. The decor is fun and modern in the new place, and the food was excellent as always! We all had the Chile nogada because it's so amazing and is only around in the fall through the holidays. I talked about this in my original review, but will mention it again here, because this dish is absolutely delicious. A pepper, stuffed with seasoned meat and nuts, topped with fresh pomegranate and a creamy sauce...I know it might sound unusual but it manages to mix sweet, spicy, crunchy and creamy all in one dish and OMG it works so well. I've never seen it on the menu anywhere else. My other favorite dish here are the enchiladas with the moles...OMG these are so good!! The chocolate jalapeño ice cream is also not to be missed..,creamy, sweet, spicy.... Chef Paco is as enthusiastic as ever! Guests are welcomed as friends, and he really does seem to remember return customers even if it's been awhile. The ONLY downside is that menus are only available via the QR code up front and the menu has a lot of pictures so loads slowly....and if you're on a capped data plan it does use a lot of data. So...maybe best to check out the menu ahead of time on fast wifi. Or....just wait for Chef Paco to come around to talk about the specials because those are always amazing! read more

(Last time we went it was 2018 in a different location.) If you enjoy having a conversation while you enjoy a meal, its very difficult there. Bad acoustics made talking impossible. The noise level pushed us out the door. The 3 pork tacos ($24.95) needed a "wow "sauce since they were a little dry but I didn't want to ask for anything that was 'Not the Recipe". A phrase my husband got when asked if he could have mole on the poblano pepper. So I poured the salsa on my taco since it was already on the table. I don't understand why Chile en Nogada is only a seasonal dish(september - January), but please get it while you can. The dish are make with pepper stuffed with sweet beef, mixed with pecans and dried fruits, then covered with pecan cream sauce, with sprinkled of pomegranates. So juicy and refreshing. At first it was a little odd just with the sauce itself because is actually a sweet creamy sauce, but who would have know pomegranates could make such a huge different. Chef Paco is truly passion for his cooking. And hopefully when the whole pandemic over, I would be able to dine in again for some steamy hot mole. read more

What an amazing restaurant! I heard about this place from a friend and I'm so happy I went. The inside of this restaurant is very welcoming and warm. I loved the homey feeling of this place. Chef Paco comes to every table with an iPad and talks about a couple of recommended appetizers and dishes. He also asks if anyone at the table has any allergies which I found to be very considerate. I ordered the fiesta mole with half guacamole filling and the other half with beans. I'm so glad that this dish can be made vegetarian. Chef Paco also told me the enchiladas can be filled with cheese or hibiscus as well. Oh my god. I cannot even describe how amazing each mole flavor was. The mole was very creamy and flavorful. I loved all of the six flavors but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the eggplant. He changes a couple of the flavors every few weeks. He is extremely creative. How have I never raved about New Rebozo before? It's always FANTASTIC! Chef Paco is charming as ever. Tamarind Mezcal Margarita with Banhez Espadín Joven mezcal, agave nectar, orange liquor, fresh lemon juice and tamarind nectar, and Jamaica margarita with agave tequila, orange liquor, guava juice, fresh lime and Jamaica nectar; refreshing and unusual delights. Appetizer of Sope with sautéed hibiscus flower and onions, served on black fired beans and mashed potatoes painted with Mole Habanero was scrumptious and enough for 2. Who knew you could sauté hibiscus??? Them of course because we don't get to come often enough, we have to get the rainbow of moles: one tamarind, hibiscus (another great use I'd never have imagined,) a WHITE CHOCOLATE (delicious with cheese filling), poblano, and pepito, every one just luscious and different. Then a trio of tiny chocolate, cherry and cafe flan to finish the delicious dinner. We need to come more often to try all the other delicious offerings! Just wow. That was our impression at the end of our meal yesterday. I feel so compelled to leave a review because it was just a great experience from the ambiance, service, and food. If you are in this area, or live around here you need to visit this spot. From the moment we sat down, Chef Paco was involved in taking your order, asking for any kind of allergies, and adjusted dishes personally for my mom's spice tolerance. I just love how interactive it is, and it is rare for us (at least) to meet the head chef and converse personally. Food- it's just damn good. Order and try the fiesta mole sampler, and their signature margaritas. I can't say anything more. It's good.
