While I was traveling I popped my tire on a backroad that had zero service and durning a heat wave. Tesla could not send anyone out to help me with the tire due to location & proximity. I was basically stranded. Stranger came. Helped .patched it and I called discount tire asking and begging for them to wait 5 mins after they close it's a holiday and to PLEASE help. No sympathy I called NTB and Jonathan and Curtis was extremely patient and helpful ! Completely understanding and waited for me to arrive. THANK YOU NTB life savers. The whole team thank you! I live 3 hours away and had no means of transportation and it was a holiday weekend. They truly are an amazing team and I had more than a wonderful Experience Bathrooms were clean. I made a 10:00 appointment for some regular maintenance service, an oil change, brake fluid replacement, and tire rotation. Arrived at 9:40. There were six people ahead of me, no one at the counter and no place to sit. So I stood in line behind six people. Someone finally arrived at the desk, I was told it was the manager. He couldn't stop going over the details of a tire he didn't have with a prospective customer. He continually turned the computer screen to show the details, like the inventory of every NTB in the state of VA to demonstrate that they didn't have the part. Several times, he exited into the shop area and was gone for minutes. The phone was ringing off the hook. and never once got answered. He finally told her she would have to order it online, with never ending explanations on how to do it. She went to leave four times and he just wouldn't stop instructing her on ordering the tire. He completely ignored the six other people in line. She finally left and someone else stepped up to the counter. He never made eye contact or said a word, just worked on the computer, printed something out, and went into the parking lot pursuing this one prospective customer. He did this not once, but twice. He never acknowledged the six people waiting, which was now down to five, as one had left. He continued to work on the computer, with no word or eye contact with anyone. At this point, I had been waiting 20 minutes, and only moved up in line due to attrition. I stepped up, informed him who I was an asked him to cancel the appointment. He never had the courtesy to look me, or anyone else waiting, in the eye. Never once said "sorry folks, we're shorthanded and busy, and I'm working to get to you." It was the most incompetent, unwelcoming, and poor excuse for a business I have been in for quite some time. I cannot speak to the quality or timeliness of their actual automotive service, because their customer service was so poor I couldn't get there. But if this end of the business was managed so horrifically, I was not taking any chances on how bad the actual service might be. I will go somewhere else. I only gave NTB one star because you can't give none. I would never go back there. I would never recommend that anyone else ever go there. Business goes where it's welcomed, not ignored. They need to learn that lesson here. read more

Come 10 before opening and waited walk in and the guy is gaslighting me they haven't had anyone to do them since January!!! And I "must have called there other location on accident". Called these guys on Wednesday JULY 23RD to see about getting my car inspected for the following day. Guy says you don't need to make an appointment and first come first serve. I get there Thursday morning a hour before they open. When they finally open the guy says they haven't had anyone to inspect a car since January. So I drove all the way to Charlottesville FOR NOTHING!!! TALK ABOUT BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Wouldn't recommend this place to put an air freshener in my car !!!! read more

Wow, what an awful business. I ordered $1200+ tires from their website and scheduled an appointment to have them installed. When I showed up for the appointment they first asked if my tires had even arrived yet? How the hell would I know? I ordered them from THEIR website. She then said they would get to them whenever they could since there were only two technicians on duty and they had 12 tires to do before me. I asked her what the point of even making an appointment was? She said well, did you make it online? Yes, again I did it on THEIR website (and received confirmation emails). Definitely not the only place in town for tires, so I just walked out. Do yourself a favor and find another tire shop. read more

Let me give some compliments. I've been a big fan of NTB for a few years now. Their customer service has always been great, and the people who work there are generally kind and informative. However, the recent experience I've had makes me not want to go back, ever. I recently got my car tires, realigned and breaks checked, and no more then 2 days later, as I was driving, there was a loose caliper that fell off and destroyed my brake line. I had to pay for towing to bring the car back to them, and even then they could not see the car till the 2 days later. When they took a look at it, they asked "who has seen the car since the time they saw the car for realignment" (thoroughly convinced someone somewhere somehow who wasn't them messed with the brakes). I told them no one, struts were replaced 2 weeks ago but the calipers were definitely not touched. They were convinced someone did not tighten the calipers enough or that someone messed with them and estimated a cost of $1000 for the damage. As I went back and forth with them and talked to the mechanic who fixed the struts a couple of weeks back and realizing you don't touch calipers when you change struts, their story changed to now "it's just a fluke thing, and it happens". I was already not real sure about the timing of the realignment and the brake failure, and now their story changed 3 times already and none of the stories accepted the idea that this is likely their fault. I don't put the blame on any one of the managers or store clerks but their reasons changed over time, leading me to seriously distrust NTB/Mavis. I wish I could trust them, but the timing of the brake failure and the changing of reasoning has made me believe I can no longer trust them. read more

I have never had issues with any other NTB tire shops before, however a loved one had an appointment made for 2pm today let me rephrase, it was not a walk in! Only an oil change was scheduled. Not only did they allow her to wait for 3 hours they had the vehicle on the lifts for tire an alignment when that was never necessary nor a part of the appointment. They deducted $15 off of the final bill and sent her on her way at 5:15pm. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed considering she was late for work. read more

I had my alignment done and they left it wrong, I came to have it fixed and I've been waiting for more than 3 hours and they won't give me my car back. I have an appointment soon and I can't move. I ask the receptionist and the only thing she tells me is that it's almost ready. I do not recommend this place read more

I came in to have the Valve Stem replaced on my tire, Chris , Tiana and the staff at NTB on Pantops are knowledgeable, skilled, courteous and inviting. I know without a doubt my car and self are in great hands. I have had to walk in twice now in what was to me emergencies. They welcomed me, provided security of mind that the issues would be resolved and they did it in a timely manner. They are my hero and I leave feeling like the weight of the world has been lifted. I bought tires through this 3rd party service provider on NTB's website but when I showed up at the store they said their equipment was not set up to install these tires without damaging my rims. My family was visiting Charlottesville last weekend, and an hour into our visit I hit a curb and blew out a tire. The manager Chad got me scheduled pretty close to their closing time on a Saturday and had me back on the road in an hour. He even came out and chatted with me for awhile (turns out we have family from near the same area, and we also enjoy the same kinds of adult beverages!) Chad and the crew at NTB saved our vacation. Top notch! The low tire pressure light came on after recently putting air in my tire. I stopped in NTB and they were forthright that there may be an extended wait time as I didn't have an appointment. I was willing to wait and was glad I did. The staff worked diligently the entire time! They were so polite to all the customers. I overheard the staff telling a customer that they closed at 7 but would "stay as long as they needed to in order to get the job done!" Nobody has that type of work ethic these days, it was impressive to hear! When it was time to check out, they handed me the bill...no charge! They mended my tire and didn't charge me! When I need service in the future, I will return to this NTB location! Very grateful for their hard work!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE MANIPULATED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. I took my car in for a standard oil change. I was told the oil change could not be completed on my car until I purchased a new oil pan for $425. I took my car to a different shop where the oil change was done without issue and I was even told my car was perfect after thorough inspection. Shame on you, NTB. I am APPALLED. read more

I bought $1,300 in tires from this place for my large truck. They were supposed to come with lifetime tire rotations. Then I was told that because I have spacers on my wheels they would not honor this lifetime rotation promise. The spacers have been on my truck since I bought it. They wanted my money but dont want to stand up to there word. Will never get my buisness again. read more

The folks here were so helpful! They had exactly the tire I needed when I ended up with a flat. They also suggested a local place for me to find a jack I needed as well. As I was rushing back to get the tire out on my wheel with the flat it was coming close to closing time and I called them to tell them I was on my way back. They stayed 20 minutes past closing time to let me in and make sure our wheel was fixed before they closed. All this on a Sunday! Where do I even start. Called this location to see if they could do a state inspection today and they said yes and to drop off my car and they will do it today. Went during my lunch break to drop off my car and my coworker followed also using her break. Walked in, waited 25 minutes in line to be helped and they tell me they can't take my car and if they do it will take a few days. I told them I called and all they could say was to come another day. Absolutely ridiculous. Thanks for nothing and will definitely not be coming back here. read more

There appears to be a hostile manager at work here, treating employees and customers with equal condescension and impatience. He made the room very uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
