I went to Mavs Tires in Rosenberg for an oil change and was disappointed. The price was high, the staff did not seem knowledgeable, and although the service was fast, there were no other customers. I also noticed that the oil filter had not been changed; they apologized and called it a mistake. I would not trust them with my vehicle, and I do not feel the service was worth the cost. read more

This location is bait and switching costumers. We have construction in our neighborhood and picking up nails in our tires is common. The tread in my tires is getting a little thin but it wasn't a problem getting patched mid December at this location, so I brought it back today (January 2nd) when I found another nail. I will also mention that I had my car state inspected at a Valvoline on the 30th (4 days prior) and it passed without issue. After making arrangements to drop the car off with expectation of having the repairs complete by lunch and costing $36, I received a call explaining the patch could not be made due to low tread followed with the advised action of purchasing 4 new tires. The punchline? An estimated total amount of $1,322.33. So that was a hard no. This is not the first time NTB has declined to patch a tire with the motive of selling new tires. Now I will need to make new arrangements for tire repair, and when I am ready for 4 new tires, they will be purchased elsewhere. read more

Went for annual inspection, and was told I need 2 new tires, front brake pads, and a rotor replaced in order to pass inspection. This was all based on a visual inspection. The clerk admitted that the technician hadn't popped the hood or disconnected anything--just looked at it and wanted to do me the "favor" of giving me the "opportunity" of avoiding a failed inspection by getting these things done to the tune of $1k+. I politely declined, knowing that (1) I only buy tires at Discount Tire, (2) I already have lifetime replacement of brakes elsewhere, and (2) I would never think to go to NTB for anything anyway. They were just the first inspection place I passed. I didn't help that another customer was arguing with the same clerk and later the manager when I walked in--over fixing something that didn't need fixing. So to top all this off, I took the car to my mechanic, who said my rotors and brake pads looked like new. So two tires later, I went elsewhere and easily passed inspection. Bad NTB...BAD! read more

Don't come to this location. Dropped my car off at 7am to get an oil change and tire rotation. Called back at 10 to check because it had been 3 hrs. Even I could do an oil change and tire rotation in 3 hours. They said it wouldn't be till 11-1130 when it will be ready. So I show up at 1145 and all the employees are dicking around in the shop. Nobody's working on cars. They see me and scatter like cockroaches to act like they are doing something. At noon they call me to tell me my car is ready. I look outside. It's not even my car dude. So guess who is still waiting on my car? This guy. Somebody needs to be fired around this joint. Cause y'all suck at yall's job. read more

Asked if I should drive to shop and park, since my tire was going. He said no, that when it was my turn I will have to drive it in shop on a flat. I had a very bad experience with the NTB at 6504 READING RD ROSENBERG, TX. Stay away from this NTB. Brought my car in for a battery replacement I made an appointment online so the service was fairly quick. The next day, tried to start the car and the new battery was dead. Brought the car back to NTB. First they checked and told me the alternator was bad and need replacement with the cost of more than $800. About 10 minutes later, they told me it was good news. The alternator was good and no replacement was needed!! They then told me they had no idea why the car didn't start, and I needed to pay $125 for them to check out. At that point I had it. Apparently these guys had no clue. I told them just brought my car out for me to leave. Drove the car home and didn't have any problem again with the battery since. SKIP NTB -- worst mechanics! Save your money and go somewhere else. I took my car in and explained I thought the problem was the catalytic converter or the fuel pump based on the symptoms it was showing. I also let them know I was going out of town, so I needed to get it fixed. They ignored my assessment of the problem, told me it probably wasn't the catalytic converter and instead told me, based on their diagnostic, that they needed to replace the battery, air filter and do a fuel injector flush to fix the problem I was having. After all of that, when it still didn't fix the problem, they tried to tell me it was my transmission and that a transmission flush would help the problem. NOT LIKELY. I was out of time and hoped my car would make the trip, but instead was stranded in the middle of nowhere. When I called the guy at NTB to tell him how badly they'd misdiagnosed my car and that I'd basically just thrown $400 out the window for them to waste my time, he didn't even apologize or offer to make things right. Just said my problems were probably because I didn't get the transmission flush they'd recommended. SERIOUSLY?!? Impossible that a transmission flush would have fixed my car when it was the catalytic converter. I told him and his response was "what do you want me to do about it?" In my head, my response was any of the following: 1) Admit you're an idiot and my meager knowledge of cars wins against yours! 2) Apologize for failing so hard! 3) Get your butt out here to tow me back to civilization since you assured me my car would make the trip! Instead, I behaved myself and simply said "I'm going to tell everyone about my experience." When I FINALLY made it home, I took it in to another place - Integrity Tires on alt-90. THEY suggested the problem was the catalytic converter (without my influence), but agreed to check out the transmission and fuel pump just in case. Sure enough, it was a clogged catalytic converter which they fixed for a reasonable price. My advice... avoid NTB like the plague and take your car to Integrity instead. They're honest and they know cars AND they don't ignore your suggestions. I wish I'd skipped NTB altogether. Still fuming. read more

First the twilight sullen teenager working the counter, second got oil change and waited and waited and waited..finally leave on my home i notice that A) instead of putting mileage that would be when next change is due, they put my current mileage. And not even off the dash just the mileage guess I told them! So my car registration is about to expire and I never received any renewal notice. I came to the NTB to see if I had my car inspected with them and if I needed an inspection this year. Crista, the manager, and Ricky helped me. They let me know that I did need an inspection and gave me the information of what I needed and where to take it after inspection to complete the renewal. They took me right in and gave me a 30 minute completion time. These guys have never let me down, whether it was to have work done or just check my tire pressure. They are close to my home, friendly and reliable. My wife and I will continue to come here for our car work. read more

It is not the first time it has happened, but the last visit to NTB yielded a similar 400 dollar diagnosis-- new brake pads, brake fluid exchange, resurface rotors. I declined, took the car home, and checked out the situation for myself: Brake pads still had 33% material left. Rotors were smoother than they would be after a resurfacing... I went ahead and changed the pads because I had already put the labor in, but my wheels literally needed no service at the time. I'm sure their workmanship is fine, just prepare to be lied to and fleeced if you don't know what you are doing. Same thing happened at the one on Hwy 90. read more

Very disappointed with the customer service this time. I have been bringing my cars here for tires and service since this location opened - for more than 10 years. A nail had punctured one of my tires so I brought my car in for service. Deborah, the sales associate helping me, told me that they couldn't repair/plug the tire and I would have to purchase a new one which would be about $260 with installation and fees. I told Deborah (that I thought I had road hazard. She checked and said I did not. I told her I thought that wasn't correct because I always buy road hazard and asked her to check again. She told me again that I did not have road hazard. I left the location to check with a local tire company regarding fixing the tire. I was told the tire couldn't be fixed so I returned to NTB the next day to have the tire replaced and my oil changed. Once again, I asked Deborah to check for road hazard and she again told me I hadn't purchased it so I paid for the new tire and installation, and an oil change and road hazard on 4 tires in the amount of $498.02. When I got home and went to file the paperwork, I found my old invoice for the purchase of the original 4 tires which had another invoice from the same day (in November 2018), minutes after the tire invoice, for road hazard on all 4 tires. So, I went back to NTB the next day (3rd trip there) to get a refund for road hazard for 3 tires and to prorate the new tire. No manager was there so I was told to return the next day to see Deborah, the manager. I returned the next day (New Year's day and my 4th trip there) to get a refund. Deborah was there and very aggressively again repeated that I had no road hazard. When shown the invoice she very defensively stated that she had checked the original invoice and didn't see it. I reminded her of how many times I had told her I was sure I had purchased it (as I always do) and she had no response to that. No apology, no acceptance of responsibility. Then she calculated the refund based on the tire proration only so I reminded her that she also had to refund 3 road hazard charges. About 45 minutes later, I still had not gotten a refund and was told that she couldn't do the refund at the store (her computer wouldn't accept it and corporate couldn't help her with the process) so I would have to wait 3 to 5 business days for corporate to process the refund to my credit card. Unbelievable and still no apology for my wasted time and excess charges! Update: 8 days later and I still didn't have my approximately $202 refund so I called the corporate office and was told that, contrary to what I was told by Deborah, a refund would not be issued by the corporate office after Deborah's conversation with them. I had to call to request the refund so, after 30 minutes on the phone with customer service, they told me they would have to mail a refund check to me and I would not get it until January 17th - which is the most expedited they could do. I brought my car one day and it took well over an hour, and I brought my husband's car the next day and they didn't even take the car back until FORTY FIVE minutes after my appointment. I even made an appointment and had to wait at least an hour and a half for my car BOTH times. The $5 coupon was not worth it for this ridiculous wait. I'll find a new oil change spot for sure. Also their WiFi sucks. Trying to keep my 18 month old occupied at a mechanic for this long requires decent wifi to stream Moana. read more

I have been getting my vehicles serviced here for years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This visit was a little different, though. As soon as I walked in, the sales associate (Ricardo Palacios) greeted me promptly and was very helpful, no waiting for someone to help me, making this experience so much easier. As I was waiting for my vehicle, the sales manager (Denver Kao) approached me, introduced himself, and was also very kind and knowledgeable about all the questions I had about my service and any future services I may need. My vehicle was serviced very quickly and I was back on the road faster than I expected. Low profile, high performance, run flats.....need I say more. They don't last very long and have to be replaced yearly if you want top performance from these types of tires. Quite naturally replacing these tires can be costly, but I've managed to find a way to keep costs down. First, I purchase tires for both our vehicles from Tirerack.com because they are considered as "specialty" tires. None of the local tire shops carry the tires recommended for our vehicles. Second, I use the preferred installer in our area which is NTB Tire. I've been coming to this location for quite some time now and the staff has always been helpful, courteous, and expeditious. I've always had good service here and they also do a great job on the wheel alignment. Purchasing tires online and having them installed here has saved us quite a bit without sacrificing quality workmanship. Of course you could keep the tires a tad bit longer, but we find them to be quite noisy if kept beyond a year. My wife drives her car very gingerly most of the time, but her "Shirley Muldowney" alter ego does come out quite often so I need to keep her drag racer/all around vehicle in tip top shape. CONSUMERS BEWARE!! Found a nail in my tire at a retail shop on a Sunday afternoon... directly across the street from an NTB in Rosenberg so I popped in since they were open. It was raining, I needed new wiper blades so I bought those too. The patch and blades cost me around $50; I wasn't going to complain since a) it was a Sunday and although they would do it for free, Discount Tire was closed b) NTB was RIGHT there and I didn't have to make a second trip to a different shop to get blades or drive far on a punctured tire. The guys in the shop were really nice, but then they tried to sell me new rear brake pads AND rotors for nearly $700!!! That was just 2 sets of brakes and 2 rotors plus labor?!?! I about fell out because there was NO way the rotors were bad, and they didn't show me that they were bad. The brakes weren't grinding; I wasn't having problems and I'd only bought the car (used w/ under 30k miles) a little over a year ago. Sure enough, I bought the brake pads myself at O'Reilly ($50) and had my boyfriend change them, and check the front brakes as well as the rotors. Everything looked fine, just as I suspected. To be clear, I'm not complaining about the cost. I understand that labor is expensive and there is an upcharge on materials. The fact that they tried to tell me that my ROTORS were bad when they were very clearly NOT is why I am giving such a poor review. Glad I'm not a sucker, but I bet they screw a bunch of folks this way. read more

I went to NTB on Reading Road in Rosenberg today, arriving at 7:00 am so I would be first in line to have my oil changed. The store was not opened yet, so I waited, & waited..........................Finally, my husband called the district manager from information he got on line, & they told him they would get someone over there quickly. Finally, around 9:25 am, another manager from another store arrived to take care of the customers & problems. In the meantime, I counted 12 customers, who came, waited anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, got angry & left, and this can be verified by the mechanics who were also waiting on the manager, (mgrs name is Chris Mendoza). I did not leave as I just kept thinking surely any minute he would be there & I was first in line so I knew if I left I would have to wait somewhere else. When the manager from the other store arrived, he gave me a free oil change, which I told him I did not require, as it was certainly not his fault or the mechanics fault for the problems. Anyway, he did give me a free oil change, & I told hime I really hated to accept it, as my very last oil change had been free from the same manager, as that time the manager did not get there till 7:30 to open the store. SO WHAT I AM SAYING, SAME MANAGER, SAME PROBLEM 2 TIMES THAT I PERSONALLY KNOW OF. TODAY, IT COST THE STORE 12 ANGRY CUSTOMERS, AND I DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH IN FREE SERVICES TRYING TO MAKE UP FOR THE MANAGERS SLACKNESS. read more

They can not get it together. Store is supposed to open at 7:30. It is now 8 a.m. And we are still waiting on a manager to arrive and open the store. You also can't get wheel pricing in their website. We then contacted this specific store location and we received 3 different quotes from different employees all at this NTB location. They offer a vehicle visualizer so you can see what they will look like on your car, but when you go to try to order the wheels it says to see a store associate. No one seems to know what they are doing. My business will be going and staying with discount tire. Would NEVER recommend NTB unless you what to deal with this headache. read more
