After looking at their Instagram I decided to go with their new PA Lindsey. I loved how natural she was able to make lip injections look. First and foremost Lindsey has the best bubbly personality and is a total sweet heart. She made me feel great about myself and with my decision of Botox/lip injections. She completely numbed me after I told her how low my pain tolerance is and I barely felt the injections. The results are so beautiful I have never left a med spa actually liking my lips right after they're injected but some how she made magic happen. Melody at the front desk is so sweet and great at her job! Samira is truly amazing! So personable, funny, a gentle skilled injector, and extremely patient answering all of my questions and making great suggestions! She also didn't use numbing cream, just a little vibrating tool that worked really well! She can explain it better than I can, but trust me it's the best! This is a medical spa, so it's not your average spa. They want to make you more beautiful, not just feel good. They do fillers, IV therapies, skincare, body contouring, laser treatments, PRP rejuvenation, injections, and more! The spa is clean, there is ample free parking in the huge parking lot, and first time customers get $10 a unit for Botox and then after that it's just $11 a unit for 50 units or more! I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like I have to in order to warn others who are considering microneedling at Nu Med Spa. I had the microneedling with salmon sperm in March 2025. It seemed like the nurse was going really rough with the needle (unnecessarily so) and she left me with a very bloody face, which I have now been told should not happen post microneedling, the nurse should atleast clean the area before letting you leave the clinic. The aftermath is where things got very bad for me, I was in so much pain for a week following the treatment and had a very intense breakout (I didn't have any acne prior to this treatment). I wasn't able to leave the house during this time, both because of pain and the appearance of my face. It's now been 3+ months and the treatment caused irreparable damage to my face. I would urge anyone seeking microneedling to do it through their dermatologist instead of coming to NU med spa. Be careful out there! read more

Paid for 60 units of Botox and they never took affect. Seems as though this please really waters down the Botox with saline because all 60 units were injected in the same locations (forehead) and no results ever occurred. I have had Botox every 3 months for years and this is the first time that this has happened and my first trip to NU Ames Spa. The staff is nice enough but paying $100s of dollars for a fake service just seems like a scam. read more

I finally made a yelp so I can finally post this review. I visited Nu med spa about a year ago and I had an AWFUL experience. First of all, the manager (I think her name was rose) was the MOST aggressive woman I've ever met. She would not take no for an answer when I told her I only wanted to pay for what I came in for. She was throwing out all of these deals at me and when I told her I could not afford to pre purchase anything at the time she made me feel so uncomfortable to the point where I wanted to cry. She was also standing so close to me it made me uncomfortable! She was pointing out things on my face that I needed done! I've never had anyone do that to me before and I found it so rude and made me feel bad about myself. The girls at the front desk clearly felt bad for me and also felt uncomfortable while they were just trying to check me out and rose kept badgering me trying to get me to spend more money. Every time one of them tried to talk rose would interrupt and then she ended up taking over the checkout process completely, kicking the front desk girl out of her chair!! I felt so bad. It must be a regular occurrence because she looked tired of it- just sighed and walked to the back. She gave me a look of empathy. The Botox I got was okay but I would never go back and never recommend anyone to go here strictly because of how the manager made me feel. Also, a woman came in around the same time I came in and she and rose were loudly speaking a different language in front of me while I was trying to ask the front desk questions. Clearly the manager has no experience managing a business / knows nothing of business etiquette. Hopefully they have gotten a new manager by now. If not, good luck going here because they will make you feel bad about your appearance and try to get you to spend money that you don't have. read more

I went to the Encino location. I had a very good experience for my first time. I got Botox which I've had 3 years earlier elsewhere. This time I got a lip filler for the the very first time. I got the "Botox flu" IMMEDIATELY after being injected by them. I'm suffering from intense headaches, nose bleeds, a sore throat, body aches, and chills. It's already been 7 days since treatment and the sickness just won't subside. I went to urgent care and tested negative for the flu, strep, and covid. They recommended too high of dosage, or the doctor didn't inject correctly, and/or the Botox quality is very low. I've been injected with Botox before and never had a reaction. I don't recommend this place AT ALL. read more

Excellent place! I trust them with my face completely. Beautiful atmosphere, so welcoming and comfortable. Very friendly staff, and most importantly they do great work. Eleanor does my Botox and she is honestly talented. Most of the other places I've been just did a quick assessment and injected the same general area. The problem with that is that areas get missed. For example, the last person I went to did only my forehead so I developed a frown line within 3 months because it was the only place I could move. Elanor fixed that! She really takes her time to observe facial expressions / problem areas and treats them specifically. My sister came here for a lip injection and they look very natural but still full. After seeing a great deal for Laser Hair Removal at Nu Med Spa on Groupon, I called to ask a few questions, then made an appointment for my first session. I was told not to purchase the package through Groupon, but instead to take a screenshot of the price and that they would honor the price when I was there - this wound up being a blessing, and I wonder if the reason they do this is because of what came next. I arrived a few minutes early, got the key for the restroom and did one last pit stop before starting the procedure. Upon returning to begin my paperwork, I was confronted by 3 employees, seemingly just waiting for me to return. They each looked me up and down, then turned and went off in their respective directions. This made me very uncomfortable, and was just the beginning. I sit down to do the paper work and the technician who was scheduled to treat me (according to my text confirmation the day before I think this was Elinore - but she never gave me a name in person) keeps making these odd sounds and mumbling things under her breath. When I ask what's wrong she starts saying that she's not sure it's going to work, that my skin is too dark. She takes the paperwork the receptionist had given me away (I had not even started it) and instead has me fill out a questionnaire that seems to be aimed at determining skin level for laser hair removal. As she's doing this she says that darker skin tones "like mine" are level 6 and need a different machine, one they do not have at Nu Med Spa. I finish the survey, and my results are on the low end of level 3. In disbelief, she then has me complete the survey again with her asking me question by question if I'm sure, and outright changing some answers to completely inaccurate responses. Even with her arbitrary changes it still sums up to have me in level 3. After a bit more mumbling to herself, she tells me she does not think it's right but that if I really want to we can proceed. When I asked what she's concerned about, she says two possible negative outcomes are that the laser targets my skin instead of the hair and burns me, or it's not effective because there is not enough difference between my skin and hair. Skipping to the end, I did not have any laser hair removal treatments at Nu Med Spa. Apparently they are only equipped to perform Laser Hair Removal on caucasians. And to clarify, at no point in the appointment setting, or appointment confirmation process was I asked about my skin tone. If they do in fact have technological limitations, and this was not simply staff biases, then the skin tone questionnaire should be completed prior to appointment setting. read more
