Morris managed to manage the ever changing restrictions, and also rolled with the punches when our flooring came up and revealed a pretty wonky surface underneath. They levelled the floor like pros - it's amazing the amount of work they did! Could not be happier. We couldn't even be there, as we live in Canada, and the border was closed, preventing us from getting to our Cabin at Mt. Baker, they did the whole thing remote, sending us photos. Having done a lot of our own research as to the different types of flooring available to us, our next step was whether retailers would have what we liked. We found many did not have the selection to give us more choice. We needed to find a good retailer who has good customer service and has staff who do excellent installation because we were not going to do it ourselves. At one big box retailer we were not too impressed by their impersonal sales staff, because they provided us with limited information on what would be involved to have the existing carpet removed and have the underlay and the new floor installed. A good friend had used Metrotown Floors and Interiors before and had referred us to contact them with our flooring project. So we made some time to contact them and to go visit their showroom. The showroom had a very good selection of all types of good to high quality flooring. The customer service representative Al Eris welcomed us as we came through the door. He asked us what was our plan and what needed to be done. Then, he made a home visit to measure the work space and bring up any concerns that needed to be addressed. For example, what baseboards could be used that would go best with the current door frames, trimming of the doors, and to consider that we may need to level the underground floor before installing the underlay and the new flooring. We were impressed by Al's professionalism and his attention to detail. So impressed that we chose to go with Metrotown Floors. Once we chose the underlay and flooring we wanted Al was quick to give us samples of the product, and he advised us of the cost estimate within a reasonable amount of time. He put the time and effort into understanding our needs and he was there for us before, during, and even after our job was completed. Reaching out to us to see if we had any concerns with the installation and if we are satisfied with his customer service and the hard working staff who did the installation. We were supposed to…read morehave a meeting for selection and flooring measurements back in early May 2018 but had to reschedule twice - once cause of transit for me and second time cause she was ill.. Last I heard from her (asking me via email when she could come) was on May 28, 2018 which was approx the week after she recovered. Replied her via email the same day to let her know that my schedule was open and I can match her schedule. I sent her repeated text messages, emails and voicemails (never picked up her phone) every now and then for the next few weeks saying that was following up on my previous emails as I haven't heard back from her and would like to know when I could get the reschedule date. No response what-so-ever up till date (June 20, 2018). On the evening of June 20, 2018 I called the office to check if she had been away from the office during this period of time and they say she wasn't and will get her to give me a call. Got a call from her half an hour later basically telling me "she is not interested in doing the job and had emailed me (which I had never received) to let me know and she doesn't know why I keep contacting her". 1st of all, this is my first time hearing that a company representative accepting a job to a point of scheduling for selection and measurement to suddenly cancelling without due notice and reason. 2nd: Why she would think I would bother trying to reach her to see her availability (via text/call and emails) had I gotten that email she allegedly sent to say she isn't interested in doing the extra job is beyond me. 3rd would be nice of her to have at least the decency to reply text messages or give me a call if she saw my emails/messages instead of ignoring them. Last but not least her very rude phone call was uncalled for! Delayed my restoration work for almost 2 months. This review is solely based on the customer service I've received from one of the employees in this company and by no means necessarily extend to the other employees or company as a whole.

It turned out that we needed the floors to be levelled before the laminate could go down, and that change was handled smoothly and swiftly by Ibrahim, our contact at Val-U. We asked for skirting boards to be removed and refitted, and that too was all competently executed. I've installed laminate floors a few times myself and could not fault the quality of the workmanship. I have no hesitation in recommending Ibrahim and his crew for this type of work.

Cambridge was tasked with replacing the floors of my 509 sq ft condo following water damage. I did…read morenot choose Cambridge Floors, this company was chosen by Canstar Restorations. My existing floors were installed by Floors Modern 2 years prior to the water damage. They were professionally levelled and new laminate and tile installed, and the result was perfect. Perfectly level and squeak free, and absolutely beautiful. Then Cambridge Floors came in and damaged/removed that levelling, and put down the new flooring over sloped and uneven subfloors. I was shocked and heartbroken. What made the experience much worse was the way my Cambridge Rep, "A.C." responded to my concerns. He was hostile and indignant. He blamed my now sloping floors on the age of the building. A.C. argued that my floors were never level, even though he had to prop up one side of my bathroom vanity, and replace baseboards and tiles with larger ones to hide a strip of old paint that was now visible. He didn't even tell me, I had to ask him about it. When I showed him that the flooring behind my door was so sloped that my door wouldn't fully open, A.C. looked at it and said it was within industry standards. The more issues I pointed out, the more hostile and verbally aggressive he became. There was no respect for me as the homeowner, and no consideration for the thousands I had spent to have my floors levelled. May 5, 2023 was the day A.C. met with me to discuss these issues, and a day that for me will never be forgotten. A.C.'s behaviour towards me left me traumatized. I am a senior female and I was overwhelmed, emotional, and felt completely beaten down by A.C.'S anger, hostility, and verbal aggression. If I were paying Cambridge Floors directly I would have refused, but Canstar Restorations was paying the bill and they did not want to have to pay Cambridge to do the job over. My floors look horrible. I am out thousands of dollars that I paid to Floors Modern. I would never recommend Cambridge Floors to anyone. It's not surprising to me that Cambridge Floors has had to sell themselves to the insurance industry for business. The work is substandard, the flooring employees are incompetent, and the Company Representative is abusive to the homeowner.

The only negative is that the flooring needs to be ordered and there is a slight freight charge added. Because the competitive pricing, the freight charge is negligible. I highly recommend visiting this location if looking for flooring.
