10/6/2024- Hmmm... marketing did a good job getting me to the Oktoberfest .. We only come down for the Ribfest- Received a flyer for free entry into the Oktoberfest- free comparative stein and food-am I to say no??.. Plenty of parking on the street and in the lots!.. not like the Ribfest- I parked all the way around.. Walked in and got the plastic commemorative stein and tickets for bratwurst .. unlimited drinking- Noon was my slot time- Walked over to get the bratwurst and they were not set up.. Got the beer- but they ran out of Co2 for the grapefruit beer.. Decided to leave... won't fall for this one.. but always a must for the Ribfest..

The Nugget Event Center was built with good intentions, but in the long run, it finished off the acres of the area's free parking. The multitude of high-rise apartments began ruining parking for steller events like the Farmer's Market, Hot August Nights & the annual Rib Cook-off. . The Nugget Event Center has a capacity of nearly 9,000 people. The music & crowd noise bleeds into homes blocks away. The music volume is so loud that it makes listening to your own TV impossible. Also, now having to ride a shuttle bus to get to an event just proves the point.

Great concert in a great venue. Concert season is back in full swing after hibernating for a few years. This venue is small enough so every seat is in the action. Floor seats boasts bucket stadium seats where as Sections 200+ & 300+ has bench seating. One advantage of the floor is that you don't get the direct sun in your eyes and the heat. But sunset gives everyone a comfortable view and cooling temperatures. Couple of VIP tower suites flank the edges. Plenty of access to drinks and portable restrooms. Traffic control keeps a tight ship outside the event center. Lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance of the event center for a pre- or post-game meet up. Food trucks outside the event center are slow. I experienced a 45 minute wait for food at the food truck so be careful you don't miss part of the concert waiting for a "quick" snack. Matchbox Twenty with Matt Nathanson were fantastic. Nearly 3 hours of high energy, top hits, including songs from their latest release. Production value is top notch.

I've seen 2 concerts here and I have to say this is one of the best venues in Reno/Sparks. I love outdoor concerts, I find the energy is better and it's enjoy able to be out listening to music on a beautiful summer night. It's a big venue so we've not had trouble getting tickets, and the overall setup is nice and open, with vendors all around for drinks and food. My one gripe for me personally is the lack of General Admin standing room areas. I love to dance at concerts and while we were able to find a spot to get our groove on, it would be nice to have an open area dedicated for the dancers in all of us. Overall very happy this venue has opened and glad they are brining in some great talent for us to enjoy, can't wait for the next show!

Our first concert and the venue was amazing! Small, outdoor location with great assigned seating! We saw Kid Rock and he was incredible! There were plenty of drink locations and many highly visible employees available to assist guests with finding their seats and other needs. The only downside is there are only Sani-Huts, no real bathrooms. But, there were a lot of them, and they were clean. We will definitely be attending more events there!

So disappointed that I paid over $300 per VIP ticket (which got us nothing extra) to get a view of the stage pole and screen. We couldn't even see the entire band. What a joke. We would've been much better off in the cheaper seats. Plus to not have hot food or mixers for drinks, not everyone likes soda as a mixer, some juice choices would've been great. Do better Nugget!

This is overall a pretty great outdoor venue for our area. The location is easy to access and I personally haven't had a hard time parking. It's lovely to watch the sun go down over the concert, but sunglasses are definitely needed beforehand! My first concert was when the venue opened with Toby Keith in 2019 and while the concert itself was absolutely fantastic, I was wildly disappointed with our seats. The bench seats are terrible based on sizing: You're essentially sitting on top of one another and there is no way to avoid your knees going directly into the back of the person sitting in front of you. Our only exception was that we were on the very last row and stood on top of the bench against the fence most of the night. There was also zero signage to direct us how to get to our seats (by way of going around the back). So, we had to wander around quite a bit before we got there. On my most recent visit, my mother and I came to just sit outside and listen to the band (Better Than Ezra and Train). We sat outside the main gates, and thankfully it wasn't too busy because there isn't much seating right now as they do construction. I was under the impression the improvements would be done before the 2023 concert season began. This unfortunately wasn't the case. I am hopeful that it will be a nice area once complete. We eventually were actually gifted two tickets so we decided to go in for the main show. Our seats were in the lower level so there was much more room and they were way more comfortable - I would say they are definitely worth the extra money. We ended up going to the ground and standing for most of the show and it was a great time. No one was too crowded and the staff were good at keeping an eye on the crowd. There really aren't any bad seats in terms of viewing the stage - just for what's comfortable. There are plenty of vendors to purchase beverages from inside the venue (Cash Only though). I would agree with another review that security isn't much... They are kind and quick, but in my opinion really don't do a thorough job. They glance in bags and move people through. The music is loud, but not too loud. I can actually usually hear it from my front porch at home which is quite fun for the summer nights.

Section 302 G for Brad Paisley
    Carla M.

Came here to watch Brad Paisley and had a wonderful time! We were in section 302 G and despite being pretty far back, we still felt pretty close to the action. Would definitely watch a show here again. Parking was free in the parking garage nearby. Food vendors inside the even center take a card which is great because I never have cash.

A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino…read more I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. If you arrive early, you can hang out for Happy Hour, they had some unique drinks including the local standby beers and cocktails...and mocktails for those attending the all-ages show. I recommend seeing this show on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a bit more rambunctious, racy show.

After happy hour ended a bud light and high noon was $18. I can't believe they turned the old movie theater into a magic show theater. I sat there thinking about all the movies I saw at the Hotel and the first time I had a drink in a movie theater so long ago, 1989. It was fun in the bar prior to the doors opening they have a magical experience for adults and kids to set the mood for the evening. Tracy the bartender was awesome! She also works at Blitz during the day. She has the kindest soul and such a people person! It was like I had known her for years. They have a box office where you can purchase tickets. Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!

This place is so cool and not cool at the same time…read more.. Here's the bad stuff... 1. Super construction going on and the parking lots are a mess, you don't know to go right or left and I got lost finding entrances even after 3 days.really dirty too. 2. The dirt doesn't stop there. Our first room we were given was so smokey I mean burning eyes smokey. There was a box fan sitting outside the room so I think they tried to air it out but it was like someone burned a cigar in there and just closed the door. 3. After going thru a room swap we were given another room. Fine but there was a dirty rag left in the bathroom counter with hairs all over it. Not a huge deal but still, come on right? 4. The late check out. Went to the front desk night before to make sure late check out was ok since we were at an event that morning. No problem they said you got until 4 with an additional fee. Great right? Nope since our room was a room that was attached to a suite they needed us out before that. Just come on again! 5. The service is just rude everywhere. I mean everyone you encounter! The Rim restaurant guy host in a suit..., I'm convinced was high as a kite. Don't believe me, go there and talk to him, holy! The security desk, rude and unhelpful. Anyone you call on the phone from the room, rude. I'm not expecting Disney customer service, but come on man! Someone teach these guys some customer service skills. So the good.... The resort is really cool. Bowling video games, nice casino, everything to spend a fun weekend. We may even come back just to do the pool and stuff to do there. To wrap it up... Lower your expectations. Your not going to get the cleanest room. Most certainly you will be treated rudely. It's a place that could be so epic but falls short due to just taking short cuts in the customer service, organization and just plain care about your whole experience factor. P.S. you will receive at least 5 text messages telling you about how great their spa is.

The room was okay--nothing special, but no major complaints. The Starbucks is always packed, which seems to be the norm here. Today, I visited the Second Street Marketplace downstairs. The young employee who assisted me had very poor customer service. He didn't acknowledge me, didn't offer a bag for the items I purchased, didn't say thank you, and seemed more interested in chatting with his coworkers than helping customers. Based on what I observed, I wasn't the only customer having issues with him. We also requested housekeeping service for our room. We were informed there would be a charge, which was fine with us. However, after the service, the room looked exactly the same. The bed was made, but that was about it. Now, let's talk about the restaurant downstairs. I ordered a steak, but they brought me chicken instead. I clearly told the waitress I wanted steak. When I pointed out the mistake, another older employee insisted that what I was served was steak. I'm pretty sure I know the difference between chicken and steak. Fortunately, Teddy stepped in, listened to my concern, apologized, and had my order corrected. That is what great customer service looks like. Even our waitress suggested that I just eat the chicken, but guests should never be told to accept something they didn't order. The casino and the room itself were good, and I enjoyed those aspects of my stay. However, many of the staff members could benefit from additional customer service training. To corporate, management, the CEO, owner, or whoever is responsible: please invest in better customer service training. Your guests deserve a better experience. #CustomerService #Management #Hospitality #GuestExperience

In that regard, this poker room is the best in Reno. The room offers the following locally unique, player-friendly features: 1. A generous 2 dollar an hour comp rate (only Circus Circus offers the same except the 15 hours a week it's 3 dollars per hour). All other rooms offer only 1 dollar/hour. 2. Free player buffet at 9 p.m. (and player guests are allowed to eat too generally if they ask). Other rooms offer just soup and 2 rounds of sandwiches a day OR just sandwiches OR just breakfast pastries/bagels/donuts. 3. An aces cracked rebate of 50 dollars, 5 days a week (Sunday 8 a.m.-Friday 8 a.m.) except during bigger tournament series like the Deepstacks tournament series that occurred in March and the Pot of Gold tournament series occurring this July.. You can't win any side pots and there is a minimum of 40 dollars in the pot. Only Harrah's offers an aces cracked bonus and it's only 20 dollars 1 night a week. And good luck finding a game at Harrah's. 4. The bonus generous bonus hand-seeking policy of any room I've ever seen (ask at the room). This poker room fills seats more efficiently than any other room in town once they become available. The floor runs the games excellently. Dealers are overall the best in town. Many have years of experience including dealing in much larger games and/or WSOP dealing experience. A number of them have excellent senses of humor. All are very professional and NEVER comment on flop texture. Beginning players are treated extremely well and dealers are always helpful, never snobby when explaining how the action proceeds in the game. Typically, the room spreads only 1-2 no limit holdem games, but lately customers have requested and made 2-4 and 3-6 limit holdem games. If you want a game and have the people, they will spread it. The room also spreads private games and will run private tournaments. As the former Hilton hosting a World Poker Tour event, they handle large scale tournaments and multiple tables very well. During larger tournament times, you'll find large limit games. During the Deepstacks tournament, they spread a 3-5 no limit game. With Matusow there, they did a 25-50 no limit holdem game. It's hands down the best place to play poker in Reno. With the numerous conventions that they get, steady tourist traffic comes through. Games run all night sometimes and late into the night every night. The buffet is very good, has food from their normal buffet that isn't always just leftovers, often isn't. Sometimes the spread includes large plates of cheese, fruit and salad. There is always at least 3 trays with bread rolls, often 4 that rotate throughout the night. Food is there and kept warm until 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. It cools a bit later, but it still often edible until 4 a.m. Bonus hands are paid out between 20 and 599 dollars. Any pocket pair or two hole cards that can make a straight flush can be a bonus hand, depending on how recently it was hit it could be 599 or 20. As a general rule, more likely to be hit are the straight flushes, especially below jack high and quads below tens. They also do drawings on Mondays every two hours starting between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. for 125 per drawing and they roll over so they have reached as much as 750. You get drawing entries by playing 2 consecutive hours and signing up for a square later. There are up to 169 squares for which to sign up. The room is run by a very good poker player, Charles, that absolutely makes sure players are treated well and feel welcome. It's a part of the culture of the place and makes it the best place to play in Reno. The room offers daily tournaments at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m (no eve tourney Sat). Monthly points leaders share part of a bonus pool, the winner getting 1k and 4 other players winning the additional 1500. M-Th 9 a.m. features a feeder tournament for the 11 a.m. tournament for 20 dollars with rebuys. The tourney is 55 dollars for an entry. I believe there's an add-on of 5 dollars for an additional 33% in chips. There's also a poker player room rate to check out. See the site. All offers can change so it's best to check with the room for current offers. Like almost every local room, it's non-smoking (even 30 feet from the entrance), offers free drink service (gratuity not included), has numerous TVs to watch sports and features a cashier to handle chip buying and cashout transactions. The room is located very closely to the cage and some ATMs near the sports book at the N end of the casino floor. Be sure to swipe in/out to get your comps.

One positive thing I want to say about the cafe restaurant, the workers every one of them are giving 150% working hard.My compliments to them. One thing that I've noticed and it's very negative is that the prices have jumped up, which has happened in a lot of places, but this is a little extreme. For example, they had a senior menu. They cut out approximately 1/2 of their senior menu, which is ridiculous. A lot of the locals come there and many are seniors the options on the menu amount to almost nothing for seniors now.. BRILLIANT SND THOUGHTFUL! Example on the regular breakfast menu they HAD a chicken fried steak it was a big chicken fried steak like all the other breakfast restaurants in the area now when you order that you get a small chicken fried steak, which was originally from the seniors menu a very downsized small chicken fried steak. Once again that chicken fried steak is not available on the senior menu instead they're using that small chicken fried steak for the regular menu. You're paying almost double and getting 1/2 of the value. CHEAP!! Also, throughout the casino, it always reeks of cigarettes smoke at one point I thought it was a very nice casino. Now I think it's rundown. Nobody really cares about anything. They're very few employees working the floor. The escalators going upstairs are always broken my opinion of the nice casino is now that it's turned into a dump!

With the sound baths you can also add mindful hands-on enhancements that will "help you sink deeper into your body allowing the mind to heart connection." Check out their website for their available classes, like Belly Dance Fusion, Sound Bath healing, Buti Yoga, Guided mediations, spa offerings, and more! Save by bundling and continue to support local!
