    You can Smoke
    Julie B.

LOVE this Casino! My kind of place. Ride with my husband and we stopped here and stayed in the hotel for a few days, and then returned in for another 4-5 days. Came into the casino several times a day, breakfast buffet at the Iron Skillet was really good. Also had a steak which was delicious. Friendly service and staff in the casino. Lots of machines, and we enjoyed ourselves a little too much if that's possible. Played the blackjack table several times. We won some, and lost some. Mostly sat at the bar playing the other machines, and drinking of course. It's nice that you can smoke inside. There is also a hair salon, CB shop, laundry room, and convenience store. Lots of parking in a well lit area. Definitely felt safe here. Problem is you have so much fun, you don't want to leave! Looking forward to returning when back in the area. I definitely recommend this casino!

    There is no basement.

So...I am not a trucker, nor am I a lot lizard. From my vantage point I don't have much use for a truck stop other than to occasionally get gas. This one just happens to be a block away from my office. In any event, today I ventured inside for an insiders view of the Alamo. Things I learned today include the following: There are truckers of all walks of life here. There are hookers working the lot. Conveniently, there is a motel attached to the business. Did I mention drinking, gambling and smoking? Romantic dark lighting abounds the inside. They can wash your rig and you can park your rig right here in one of 400 well lit parking spaces. While you get your truck washed, how about a shower? They claim to be "hospital clean". I don't care to know or see the showers unless my water heater goes out and its the last shower in Reno. You can wine and dine at the restaurant. Do you need to get your hair did or your ladyfriend's hair did, they got a salon! Not much of a gift shop to buy something Purdy. Might need to go elsewhere. Got a CB or need a CB to talk to your good buddy, they got a CB shop. How about a doctor? You may need one. They got you covered. You can even get a physical. Tempting isn't it? They even have a chiropractor here! I guess if the need is there, they got you covered. Based on all of the amenities I give this place a solid 2 stars because they have a bunch to offer and cater to a certain clientele. I just don't care for the atmosphere and doesn't do much for me. Be sure to ask to see the basement in the Alamo! I'm sure it will be the most exciting part of the tour.

We stopped in here for about an hour today. Have been here a few other times Free drinks if your gambling. If they are busy and you have to go to the bar for a drink they are pretty good about giving it to you for free Machines not too bad... I've hit $100 to $200 a couple times on a minimum bet Staff is very friendly Will stop again when in the area Oh an it's not a big place and the buffet at the truck stop is hit and miss Hotel right next door also

Well to me they hit 5 stars not a typical truck spot as most would think. Food is fresh and good portions are provided. From a salad to some fried goodness, and even cake for a sweet treat.

The slots are really tight here. It's sad as they are clearly taking advantage of truck drivers.

We arrived around 11:30pm and there was a sweet girl who easily helped us check in, and marked up a map to give us precise directions to our room. The room itself was clean and very comfortable. The shower had amazing pressure and was spacious. The bathroom came with body wash, body lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. The AC worked well but was a little loud as it periodically turned off. We grabbed a very quick breakfast the next morning at their 24/7 diner, and it was actually so beautiful inside?! I was very impressed with the decor! Even at 8am, every employee we encountered was attentive, kind, and made our experience enjoyable. My fiancé literally just got 3 scrambled eggs and coffee to tide him over so there isn't a ton to report on the meal, but he was happy! There were 4 mini water bottles waiting for us in the room, a keurig machine with pod options, an ice machine near the elevator, and a filtered water refill station! Also a vending machine for purchasing items. Only knocking off a star because.. well.. it's not a 5 star hotel haha. The AC was a little loud at night, and we were bummed there were no table games for a quick blackjack game as the website does say "The Western Village Casino is a winning environment where you can play the best in slots, table games, and more". However, I don't think I've ever found a better bang for your buck hotel in my life.

We got here 30 minutes early and the restaurant said they could NOT seat us early and 50% of our group had to be here. So I went to the penny slots to kill time. A hard working waitress was delivering drinks to all the people around me, so I tried to order one but she said she had to move to another section?!?! After she was done with delivering her drinks she made a special trip back to see what I wanted and got it for me immediately. THANK YOU. Ambiance - We are already Peppermill loyalty members (20% off for locals, but NOT here). So my wife went to get her player's card while I gave my machine some $$. 145 rooms & suites with kitchenettes. The inn is across the parking lot from the casino. Plenty of parking, but we almost always end up in the rear of the parking lot. Gift shop, EV charges, etc. 4 Restaurants - The Steak House, Pancho & Willie's (Mexican), Primo, (Italian, pizza), Cafe Belline, and of course, bars and lounges. Service - Good. Price - Generous tip. Plus I only lost $5 playing the penny slots until our dinner reservations were due. I guess it's inexpensive compared to if I had to buy another glass of wine in the Steak House. :) Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success for over 40+ years. 1983 - Peppermill acquired.

In the morning, we waited over 30 minutes while valet staff searched for another guest's lost key. Later that same evening, we ended up experiencing the exact same thing ourselves. The valet staff lost our key and it took over 20 minutes for them to locate it. They did not think to hire more staff for the busy Memorial Day weekend and the basketball/volleyball/adult softball tournaments that were going on in the area. The night before we had to leave our car halfway in the street because valet was so backed up. The guest service manager told us to leave it half away in the street. The next day the same manager blamed the desk agent for losing our key when they did the same thing in the morning when she wasn't there. Unfortunately, this caused us to be late to a magic show we were attending at Grand Sierra Resort. I understand mistakes can happen, but seeing the same issue happen multiple times in one day shows a serious lack of organization and professionalism. Valet should make the experience smoother, not create unnecessary stress and delays.

They even have additional requests section on their booking page where I requested extra things like towels. We did not receive any of those requests. Room: King, Tuscany Suite with a balcony. The room was really nothing special, as time went on we began to notice more small concerns. The first was that the ottoman at the end of our bed was stained which felt off putting. Much of the furniture and room decor was dusty. It seemed like the whole room just needed a deep clean and detail because it appeared well used. The "balcony" was just a patio space with really well loved furniture. It was also funny because our view was the worker entrance/exit so we really one saw people coming to and leaving work. Casino: This was by far the worst casino I have been too. The machines had very low RTP and rarely gave bonus games. It wasn't very well kept, drink glasses would pile up and sit. The staff seemed off putting and not very helpful. The bonuses offered weren't all that great either. Pool: The pool was decent but could use better planning. My hope would be that one of the pool decks becomes a 21+ space. Adults on vacation at a "luxury" hotel don't want to swim with kids. The hot tubs were even occupied by kids which made it unenjoyable and hard to relax. Spa: We didn't even bother with the spa because I called them prior to our stay and got sent to voicemail. I left a voicemail hoping for a call back but never received one. Overall, not worth the expensive price and we will likely not return to stay at the Peppermill.

I've been here at least 20 times and every single time they widdle down your money and you will leave with nothing you came in with. Slots are horrible, Keno never hits, not sure about video poker but I'd be willing to bet (with a much better chance at winning than if I were to bet anything here) that the poker is garbage too. Standard service, not anything to write home about. This is clearly a hang out spot for people that are already poor and Baldinis makes good and sure they stay that way. You know how you walk in a casino and hear or see lots of people hitting jackpots? Not this place. Just people chain smoking to calm their anxiety of getting robbed once again by the infamous Baldinis. Terrible casino. They will try and hook you with promotions but they are only to get you to show up and feel like you have a chance at winning something but you will indeed win nothing so save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Of all the Casinos in Reno/Sparks the places that hit the hardest have proven time and again to be Sierra Sid's (right down the street on McCarran) and Peppermill. I've given this place too many chances to redeem themselves but I always walk out of here irritated. They don't even give you small wins on any of the machines to break you in at even or slightly above. Every machine is the same thing: win slightly less than you're betting to chase a dragon that does not exist. Food is notably priced but again that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. As a Casino this place is more than deserving of a full Zero Stars.
