A very well run grocery. Five sparkling stars of the staff and employees. They are consistently helpful, pleasant, and kind. The Novato store is well stocked and features a hearty selection of salads and entrées for people on the go . The produce section. Is filled with. fresh delicious produce. And there are plenty of options for those of us with a sweet tooth. Very pleasant store. And a special note to other seniors, the employees are happy to help when you need help lifting or transporting bags to the car. I've shopped here a few times now and can say that I highly recommend this store. I subscribed to the weekly email of "specials" and come by for the excellent prices offered on items I buy. I'm also discovering new items that I will continue to purchase. While not as close to my home as Whole Foods and Safeway, I can say shopping here is a whole new pleasant experience! Excellent selection of produce, both organic and not. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I can always find someone to help me locate items, the butchers are super helpful and the checkout staff very friendly and go out of their way to help. While they don't have self checkout that I have seen, my wait in line to check out has never been more than a few minutes. I don't usually shop at Nugget because the prices in general are high, but I do come here when I require a quality piece of flank steak for a stir-fry I often make. Recently I went there and noticed that the price for flank was not much more than Trader Joe's, and certainly cheaper than Mollie Stones's. I also appreciate that the butchers are particularly friendly and helpful. I often ask them to trim some fat and silver skin off the piece I'm buying as it saves me loads of time, and the guys are way more skilled in this than I could ever be. I've recently started working in San Rafael and coworkers would bring lunch or office treats from this market. Everything has been high-quality, unique, flavorful and made me want to take a special trip to Nugget. I got my chance one no-traffic-on-the-commute morning with an extra 20 minutes to spare. I walked in and immediately knew that was not nearly enough time. Visually stunning, organized , clean and enticing! I barely knew where I wanted to start. I scanned the ample deli, hot breakfast bar, tempting bakery, found a couple items, picked up some stunning recipe cards, and made mental notes for when I return. (For those in my area, it felt like Oliver's.) And as if the store was showing off, every employee I encountered was friendly and helpful. I love this store! They offer good quality items. The produce and meats are consistently top notch. The in-house fresh poke in the meat department is always tasty and fresh. The butchers are always helpful if you ask them for advice on cuts of meat or how to cook them. On occasion we pick up the premade meals in the deli area and they don't disappoint, even the salmon is cooked correctly. The employees are ALWAYS helpful and friendly, a BIG win for this store. Phone orders tended to be taking priority over the people waiting in person for more than 10 minutes just to place an order, which I was next in line to fo do. Well I'm from out of town and stopped in to get a deli sandwich. The service was slow and I noticed the staff appeared sluggish. I have had sandwiches from nugget stores in the past and are usually quite full with my order. This one not so much. I walked around the store while the staff was making my sandwich and noticed a messy store. The store looked tired. I went looking for bottled water and saw mouse droppings. Yeek! I LOVE NUGGET in Novato!!!! When we moved to Novato in 2021, I zero expectations for Nugget since I had never shopped there. But it's about 1/2 mile away so the convenience factor got me in there a few times. Now, I can say I strongly prefer Nugget to Whole Foods in all aspects. And don't even get me started about Safeway, which is utterly terrible for anything but ice cream. Nugget has a full range of organic produce and groceries, plus most of the "mainstream" items that WF doesn't stock. The bulk section is the biggest surprise though (WF's bulk section has gone down the tubes since the pandemic). The bulk pricing is very fair too (sliced dried ginger for $5.99/lb- yes please!!) Their meats are lovely and the bakery is pretty good too. What else could you ask for? Parking in Pacheco Plaza is easy and I almost never need to wait in the checkout longer than a minute or two. The employees are "with it" too (friendly, knowledgable, and intelligent). They pay their people well and it shows. THANK YOU as well for not putting in a (mismanaged) self-checkout. read more

Nuggets is great. They're a high-ish end market with high quality everything. With that, is a higher price... so if you can afford it and money's nothing to you, then shop here. For the rest of us, we come for special things or occasions. For example, they have wonderful steaks and an amazing bakery section. Their cakes are super tasty and beautiful. It's the best place to go pick up a pie (the Heidi's key lime pie especially), or a last minute birthday cake... especially since other bakeries in the area close early, Nuggets is a great option that's open 7 days per week. I was inspired to write this review because I was really impressed by the cashier who bagged my special bakery treats today. I had gotten a cupcake and another delicate treat (don't know the name of it) ...He saw how delicate the treat was and he made sure to bag it so that it was nice and snug in there so it wouldn't be ruined. I just super appreciate that. That was a move by someone who is attentive and genuinely cared. So I wanted to give him a shout out (even though I didn't know his name - sorry!) I work hard every day for my company-facilities...and times like this I am to tired to cook for special occasions...I decided to try out "Thanksgiving" dinner for two...I'm telling ya'll this right now...it was well worth it...very affordable too. The flavor is amazing I thought my mother came down from haven just to cook for me in my dreams...I kid you not...every meal was tasty, delicious, mouth watering, OMG...the servings for two was enough to feed four more guest and still had left overs. Turkey was tender not dry at all and delicious, gravy OMG "turkey gravy", yams with marshmallows very good very!!! rolls we're soft and "mmmmmgood", stuffing excellent...greens fresh and totally aweSOMe. Mash potatoes so goooooood...Ya gotta try it, I promise you won't be disappointed. I didn't have to do any cooking, no dishes to wash no mess to clean. Best of all you get instructions how to heat your meal and be ready at your chosen time to serve. No hassle at all...."easy peasy". it was nice to have the chance to sit and enjoy our thanks giving together, "my son and I" and of course his friend whom he invited. I usually go to the Corte Madera location and the customer service there is absolutely amazing. I went to the Novato location, on my way to Sebastopol and was in line at the register. Another register opened right next to me and the person at the register asked if they could help the people behind me. A bit confused, I handed her my small purchase so I could go next. The lady at the register helps the lady behind me and I was okay with that. But she then proceeds to tell me that I will most likely have to get back in line . I was completely shocked. She then asks the customer that was next if she could ring me up first, like I wasn't already waiting in line before any of these other customers arrived . I was completely shocked and left feeling like I wasn't given the customer service that i should have been given. I work in the customer service space and I have tremendous respect for people that do because it is not an easy job but I have to call out bad customer service out when I see it. Maybe the person just needs training but she really doesn't need to be working with customers at the moment. read more

This is a great grocery store. Nugget Market in Novato is a fantastic place to get everything you need, all in one place. What we loved most was their produce section. Amazingly fresh produce, perfectly stocked, even into the late afternoon. Our first experience happened here about a month ago with a quick stop by to see if they had Durst watermelons. They did and they happened to be the best price I could find anywhere in our area. I was impressed with the knowledge the produce person I spoke had concerning their extensive produce selection and where it comes from. He helped us pick several good watermelons (yes, several). Absolute fabulous. I'm delighted to say that we've been back serval time since then. We make it a point to shop here after we eat at one of our favorite restaurants just around the corner, Active Culture Cafe. Another quick note. Everyone working here seemed genuinely nice, not just their produce person. There seem to be someone right where you need them if you can't find an item or had a question. Since we were new to this location, that help was appreciated. Kindness goes a long way with us. read more

I want to recognize the true care and compassion that the employees here show. I was shopping a few weeks ago and I was having a rough day. I picked out a small bunch of flowers in a mason jar as a gift for my 87 year old Grandmama's birthday. During the course of my shopping my basket got unbalanced and the flowers tipped and all the water spilled out. I broke down. The employees were so caring and kind. They assured me it was no problem, refilled the jar with water, and put the flowers aside for me while I finished my shopping. I went to retrieve the flowers when I was ready to check out and the young lady that helped me said that they were comped. I broke down again.
