I love that Nuggs is in my neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and are kind to my 3rd grade mentee when we go in for ice cream.

My husband and me like to pop in here for ice cream when the mood takes us. It is close to our house and the ice cream is delicious. They have many flavors to choose from and they let you taste whatever you want first. They have small sizes (which I really appreciate) and never get mad if I order a kid's size. The only real gripe I have is the last couple of times I've gone the ice cream is VERY melty. I get that if it isn't hard it's easier to scoop, but we're talking visible melted puddles on the top of the ice cream in the drums. Kind of a turn off. It was so melty that when my husband asked for a triple scoop in a cone on his birthday, they had to give it to him in a cup with the cone on top. Not a complete deal breaker, but I hope they will turn the freezer up a bit next time we go in. I usually get the vanilla with hot fudge but I got the birthday cake ice cream last time and it was really good. I had them make it into a shake. Nom. The ice cream is really good, but really so are so many other places in town (little man, bonnie brae, etc). What would have set this place apart was exceptional service, but it fell short. We went on Father's day, and the store was not busy (one family in front of us). Not only did we stand there for 4-5 minutes before getting helped, but it turned out there were four employees working (2 were in back for first 5 minutes). From reading other reviews, this sounds abnormal. Will I go back? Likely, as it's in the neighborhood and we can easily ride our bikes. Would I go back if there were any other nearby places? There is a good size patio which is really nice if you just wanna enjoy some ice cream outside with your dogs! Service was good - the guys behind the counter were attentive and nice! Ice Cream - it was good but I would never compare it to Bonnie Brae or Liks! A little pricey too - $3.99 per scoop with additional $1 for a homemade waffle cone. 3 stars because of the ice cream - flavors were good but not great! read more

And Pablo's Danger Monkey Coffee is the best coffee ice cream ever, flavored with a signature dark roast coffee from Pablo's which roasts its coffee beans locally. This place is amazing! Very delicious and well thought out homemade flavors. I tasted 3 different flavors. First I tried the birthday cake. It was pretty standard birthday cake flavored ice cream but it had sprinkles mixed in which was an awesome addition. I would give it a 6/10. I then tried the strawberry blonde flavor. It was an incredible mouth explosion of fresh strawberry ice cream and it had blonde double stufed Oreos mixed in it. I would give it a 9/10 as it was one of the more unique ice cream flavors I've ever had. The last flavor that I tasted was double stuffed oreo. It was incredible. That lady told me that it was vanilla ice cream based but there were so many Oreos pulverized in it that it was actually chocolate colored. I would give this one a 10/10. The flavor that i decided to purchase was watermelon Italian ice. The lady told me that they make it fresh all the time and that sold me. I would give it a 10/10. This place has great ice cream, but a few quirks. The ice cream cakes are the best I have ever had. Every flavor of ice cream is great. The service is just above average. Now for the quirky stuff. The parking is very limited. They keep one of the fire doors labeled "this door to remain unlocked during business hours" locked. They don't have any drink carriers or large bags, so if you are planning on picking stuff up for the family, bring an extra set of hands. This is the place to go and get ice cream on a Friday night. It was crowded, but you kind of want that in the cool Friday night ice cream place. They have a nice patio, but again, crowded. And again, you kind of want that. You go in to get your ice cream. They have lots of fun flavors. I got the Blue Moon. I asked what Blue Moon was and the guy at the counter said it tasted like Froot Loops. I'm not sure it does, but I can't come up with a closer comparison. It's sweet. And it's blue. And it's yummy. The service was quick and friendly. The decor was cute. My one complaint is that it was loud. I don't think the people were being any louder than anyone would be when getting ice cream, but the acoustics inside made it very loud. And the parking lot is really small. Mediocre ice cream, unfriendly staff looking for romance, and a disgusting bug infestation that left me victim. Last night my friends and I were on another late night adventure to find the next best ice cream in Denver. Needless to say we were left with disappointment and for me PURE TERROR! I ordered a simple chocolate ice cream, which tasted more like cardboard than chocolate, but that's besides the point. The staff began walking around and flirting with random girls. After enjoying half my ice cream I looked into a window catching my own putrid reflection, I sighed seeing how awful my appearance had become through the night... until I noticed something so strange. Something was sitting atop my head. A bug. I tried waving it away. NOTHING. My friends sitting on each side of me begin bonking my head back and forth, I felt like a human ping pong ball as a concussion began to takeover every part of my brain. The bug STILL GRASPING TO MY STRANDS OF SYNTHETIC HAIR. I will thank god for the rest of my life that I had a wig on this night. I ran out of the place with all eyes on me screaming apologies as I was about to fully expose my true self. I ripped off my wig flailing it around in the parking lot before doing one final bug check and one final apology to the audience I had now accumulated. I sat outside disappointed in the moment that had just occurred. Then the staff brought out an electric bug swatter and began to execute the lives of many bugs throughout the establishment including ABOVE THE ICE CREAM THAT HAD JUST BEEN SERVED TO ME!!!
