They kept me informed, educated, answered all my questions, made sure me, my husband and baby were comfortable. They were so caring and knowledgeable I really was blown away. They listened to my requests, took everything I said serious and were part of an experience that was so special and they helped make it better than I could have imagined. Also the hospital was SO clean. Both rooms I was in were extremely well kept. They have a truly positive staff (doctors, residents, nurses, nurses assistants, Doulas, students, even the person who registered me!), they all made me feel we were in great hands. Thank you Winthrop.

These are where the sickest patients are being treated but yet you have the least experienced staff treating them. A doctor who just finished their residency working the night shift... so very disappointing that an organization like NYU can't find more highly trained staff ... also very disappointing that an organization with this amount of money has tape holding up the windows in the ICU. Totally unbelievable. Threw all their money into sears on Franklin Ave and forgot they have an almost 600 bed hospital up the block that is in need of resources. Do better for the community. Very sad and very disappointed that this what this hospital has become.

I have nothing but praise for the emergency room staff of doctors and nurses. I'm sorry I was in so much pain that I don't recall names but to the woman at the desk who whisked me in to the E.R. staff I want to say thank you so very much! Now to the nurses on the 2nd floor G Wing I believe I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sorry if I kept you busy changing 50 bags of fluid that kept my catheter flowing. You nurses are truly dedicated, hard working and go above and beyond. Special shout out to the ones whose names I can remember and those I don't . Amanda, Litzy, Brandon, Maria, Brianna and Tom the RN that was called in when I had an episode. You guys rock. Again thank you all that took care of me when I ended up at Mt. Sinai.

UTI (although I never had any symptoms of a UTI) and 3 days later I went to Winthrop Mineola and they found that I had an ongoing perforation in my colon and the follow day my body started going into shock. They almost killed me. In 2022 I went here to give birth to my daughter (only because my doctor was affiliated here) and they left me out in the hallway for 3 hours SCREAMING at the top of my lungs in labor. It wasn't until they finally gave me a room and checked that I had gone from 3cm-7cm in 1 hour. I started throwing up all over the floor and hall way and they never even offered my a wheelchair until the very end. My experience here was absolutely terrible. When my daughter was born they didn't even bring her to me for over 10 mins for our first touch. I hate this place and I'll never ever step foot here or recommend anyone to go here. They even misspelled my daughter's first name and I've had years of headaches trying to change it on all her records. Save yourself and do go here or have your baby here.

I was born in this hospital. I went to this hospital for a work injury. And I will give them credit…read morethat the renovation is nice, and the care in most usually great. However, a family member went recently with symptoms of a stroke. They took a CT scan, which is inconclusive for a stroke. And sent him home, the same night, not able to walk on his own, and with very high blood pressure. They told me he did not suffer a stroke and that it's just general weakness from the arthritis he has in his knee and hip. Flash forward 5 days later. We visit a doctor who tells us to go back immediately, bc he did in fact suffer a stroke and must get an MRI done immediately. They misdiagnosed a stroke. With all the signs in the hospital that claim they're #1 in this regard, they should be ashamed of themselves. Needless to say. He's back there where the doctor told us to go. It took them an additional 33 hours to give him the MRI. Which is inexcusable according to multiple hospitals on LI that I have called asking about this. Unless they're trying to cover their tracks for the 5 day blunder on their part. I would normally wait to post a review, but ANYONE who fears they suffered a stroke should not use this hospital as they're negligent and delayed treatment during a very critical time because of malpractice.

They are following Covid protocol and there is glass between you and the intake when you arrive. Very smooth check-in process. THE AMBULATORY SURGERY: very clean Erika, Naomi, Josephine,Karen, and the OR nurses were really well suited for patient care. They gave me a battery of tests, blood labs, chest Ex Ray , EKG. When they determined that my Hemoglobin was severely and critically low they were expecting to find some kind of internal bleeding. Their thoroughness found out that I had a urinary tract infection coupled with my diabetes, my anemia and some of my diabetic meds were adding to my severe anemia condition. They immediately put me on antibiotics and started to withhold some of my other meds because I needed to stabilize my blood. They gave me 1 blood transfusion that did not improve anything. After 2 more transfusions my blood improved tremendously. I would be remiss if I did not praise the staff. Mark the technician in the E R was great. The nurse and ER doctor were very attentive, methodical and reassuring. When I got to a room later in the day I was amazed at the nurses and techs and how they were a team and exemplified caring for patients. They gave me limited options -- basically surgery with the loss of my kidney -- and performed a biopsy that produced no results. At a second hospital, the biopsy was done in a completely different spot, and I had preliminary results the next day with a clear timeline for answers. White Plains, on the other hand, left me waiting almost two weeks with no communication. For something as serious as a tumor, I recommend going straight to Memorial Sloan Kettering. Their accuracy, communication, and expertise far surpassed what I experienced at White Plains. Below is a picture of my back where you can clearly see the two biopsy spots. Definitely showing how the first hospital COMPLETELY MISSED the tumor. Did they blind fold themselves then stick me?
