I lost my only key to my 2016 Accord 3 weeks after buying it from the used dealership and decided on NuKey after reading reviews. Their prices was competitive with other locksmith quotes, but what really sold me was Jarom's responsiveness and superior customer service. I appreciate that Jarom is reliable and transparent. He responded in a timely fashion on yelp, gave me his number to text, and kept me updated as promised. Jarom arrived exactly when he said he was coming. He does not bullshit or beat around the bush- very stand-up guy. Jarom even responded to my text professionally outside of business hours (posted hours say 7pm closing and I appreciated that he replied at 8:45pm). On the day of the job, he called to update me that his supplier misinformed him about having a remote transponder key for my 2016 Accord in stock and told me he is express shipping a remote key for my car model now. He also gave me options if I didn't want to wait longer, and I took him up on the offer to come now to make a transponder key without remote fob since I need to drive to work tomorrow morning. He came immediately as promised and immediately got to work on my car. He was transparent throughout the process and answered all my questions straight up. He kept me updated on the length of time and explained to me every step including why the process takes a little over an hour. He even pointed out that my OBDII code reader was not in attached to the proper place, and I appreciated that he took the time to make me aware of this. He continuously checked the keys to make sure that they work properly and start my car. The first key worked perfectly but the second key didn't work even though it was cut the same. It turns out his key cutter did something funny with the second car key- cut just a little off such that the key won't turn and he never stopped trying to correct it. He kept troubleshooting for a good 20 mins since I need a second key. He ultimately offered to return tomorrow with the remote fob he express ordered at no extra cost to the original quote. Needless to say, I'm immensely impressed by his transparency and customer service, which is so hard to find these days! TDLR: I needed a reliable & honest locksmith and Jarom delivered. I was looking for a reliable locksmith and found NuKey Locksmith on Yelp. Excellent reviews. The lock on my front door was coming loose with age. Jerome gave me a quote for fix it or replace it. He came out and was able to fix it. It is solid and works perfectly. A few weeks later I decided to install a deadbolt for the backdoor in my sunroom. Jarome said he needed to come out to see the type of material the door was made of and to send pictures of the door inside and out and edge of door where the lock would go, He came out, checked the door (aluminum), left to buy the lock, came back, installed the deadbolt, cleaned and vacuumed up the area ALL within a couple of hours, Jarome is clean, neat, professional while being friendly, I would trust him to be in my home anytime. We locked our selves out of our home last night Saturday around 8pm. Never needed a locksmith and looked online. Every locksmith told us we couldn't get a quote because they would have to come and see it. A weekend evening could easily run us 200-300 for service is what most were saying and we were bummed. I needed my locks changed on my new home as well as a custom fingerprint added to my office. Jarum called me back right away when I called after normal biz hours, and set an apt around my hectic schedule close to his closing time which was so nice. I lost my mailbox key and called NuKey and Jarom answered the call after 5pm, he said he could be here in 10 minutes and he arrived on time! Pro(s): came within 90 minutes (although telephone operator said 30-60 minutes) Cons: Operator said it would cost $19.99 for the locksmith to come out, and repair starts at $30. Knowing this, I did not think it would cost more than $100. However, I was charged $175 for a 5 minute job. I sarcastically said that I should get a job that pays that well, and they got all defensive including "if I don't charge this much, I only make $30" Interestingly enough, they asked if I had Venmo because of the processing fee for using a card reader. I said I didn't, however, that I had Zelled. So they had me Zelle the locksmith's assistant/student (who had an account). So, do they really only make $30 for a job even though the $175 went directly into someones personal account? This yelp listing has the same number and website as the one I reached out to this morning. If the business owner thinks this is a mistake, they should update their yelp listing! read more
