I came in requesting SNS and a pedicure, but due to a communication issue with the nail technician, I ended up settling for a simple gel polish change instead. I was told the total would be $30, but when it was time to pay, I was unexpectedly charged an additional $5 for gel polish removal. This fee was never mentioned upfront. Had I known about the extra charge, I would have appreciated the opportunity to decide whether I wanted to proceed. Customer service and transparency are important. Between the communication difficulties and the surprise charge at checkout, the experience left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I've been coming to this nail shop for years, spending my money here, and the level of disrespect I experienced is completely unacceptable. First, Anna should not be working on clients if she doesn't know what she's doing. She cut all of my nails down to the skin without asking or myself, then had the nerve to charge me extra to build them back up to their original length. That makes no sense and is completely unprofessional. On top of that, while I'm paying for a service, I shouldn't be told what I can or cannot get or what's "healthy." I came to enjoy my appointment, not to be controlled or judged. During my pedicure, I wasn't even properly allowed to soak my feet, which is something I paid for. The water was cold, and there was an issue getting it hot to my liking without attitude. To make matters worse, the tub overflowed and got water all over my suede tennis shoes, soaking them to the point where I couldn't even put them back on. Instead of taking accountability, the staff argued with me about it. Tony, as the owner, it's your responsibility to make sure your employees treat customers with respect. Allowing your workers to argue with clients instead of resolving issues is not okay. I ended up paying $73 for a plain white set when I originally only came in for a $35 pedicure. The service, the attitude, and the lack of professionalism were all unacceptable. I do NOT recommend this place, and if I could give negative 5 stars I would!!!! read more

The nail tech gave me the wrong chrome color. I said that it was wrong. She told me that they only had two copper colors, but when the manager came in, he showed and gave her the correct color ( a third one). I did not have time for a redo, so she put the correct color on top of the other one. It began to chip a week later. I went back to show the chipping and I said that I could come back for a redo on Thursday. Went back and was told that I needed a refill and only could get a free redo is if this happened no more than three days. I also saw them (on another visit) refuse to fix a customer's broken nail after less than a week's time. She said "now I remember why I stopped coming here". I won't be returning. I've come to this place a few times now and I like them. They don't make you wait for long and their prices are descent. Furthermore, I like short coffin nails but most people don't like to do them for me because they don't want to work to make the coffin shape on short nails but as you can see, this place does a great job on them. He did not go far back to my cuticles and said he didn't want the polish to get on my skin.? Huh? That's why you clean it up before curing the nail. Also, the shape was NOT what I asked for. Throughly disappointed!!! Do NOT come to this salon. I live in the neighborhood and needed a fill in... ended up having the worst manicure experience I've ever had! Right into the process, my pinky finger started stinging and swelling up. The technician insisted that she keep filing and shaping the acrylics even though I kept telling her I was in pain. She kept squeezing and poking my finger. I eventually had to pull my hand back and tell her to stop. I had to convince her to cut the added nail off because I was on the verge of tears. She also kept pushing underneath my nail down with her OWN nail so that she could file it. It was so painful! I left with my pinky nail shorter than the rest, polish caked into my cuticles, and all nails different lengths and shapes. All of her tools were dirty, including the brush used to wipe away dust on my skin. I didn't see her open a new set of tools to use on me, nor did I see her dispose of the tools used on me. Never coming back here again, getting my nails redone somewhere else as soon as my finger isn't in pain. So upset. read more

Came to this shop because the pictures on Google look nice. Don't ever listen to Google reviews always come to Yelp. The guy that did my nails was more worried about answering the phone than doing my nails. He chopped off half my nails and I have no idea why. Then proceeded to put a new layer of acrylic on top. It makes me sad to leave a review like this especially during covid times but this is one of the worst customer experiences I had. I paid $56 for dip and I didn't have a water or drink offered, I didn't get my cuticles trimmed even after I asked, and I didn't get a hand massage. It's ridiculous. I even had to ask after I paid to please file my nails more narrow and in the shape I wanted them to be and not so wide. Let me start with what's great about this place, they provided the best customer service. From start to finish, everyone was very professional. Now for the bad... This was the absolute worse gel manicure and pedicure I've ever had. In 5 days tops, 5 out of my 10 perfectly manicured nails have either chipped or totally broken off. Just moved to the area and was happy to find #1 Nails. I got a regular mani pedi. I think the massage chairs might be the best I've experienced yet (and I've had a LOT of pedis), so that was a big plus. Two different nail technicians worked on me, and both did a good job. I was in and out fairly quickly as they did my toes and fingers at the same time but I did not feel like they were rushed and I was satisfied. The only two cons were 1. I was not offered any beverages, and I'm not sure if they provide tea, champagne or wine but I like to indulge when I'm pampering myself. and 2. the nail polish was rather disorganized and made it hard to find what color I wanted. If it was sorted by color that would be a huge help! And the nail polish at the top was too tall to see. This salon is close to my house and in the same parking lot of my grocery store so I went in to see if I would like it better than my regular salon that is a little further away. I brought my own polish with me and came in for a spa pedi and deluxe mani. I was sat in the spa pedi chair quickly and they started my deluxe pedicure. I opted out of the paraffin wax for feet because I've had bad experiences with paraffin burning me at other places so told them I'd skip it. Sean was my pedicurist and he did a fantastic job. After they put polish on my toes they moved me to the mani station and Anna started my deluxe manicure. She did a great job and the extra massage that comes with the deluxe mani was really nice. I've recently switched from gel to regular polish to give my nails a break. I will have them do gel polish next time probably. I've read other negative reviews on here, but I had a great experience and will be back. Price: its not the cheapest nail salon but they did great work and I think thats worth the price. Time: It took longer than other salons but I got the deluxe pedi and mani which are longer services and again worth it. Just don't be in a hurry when you go in. I've been going to #1 Nails for two years. I think it's important to find a tech you like and stick with them to avoid disappointments. I'm always seen at my appointment time and Kenny does a great job for my pedicure and gel services! He is very nice and incredibly professional. If there are any issues, he works hard to get it right. I think the salon is clean and I haven't had any hygiene concerns. Also, i appreciate the large variety of gel colors to choose from. The last thing I enjoy is giving a negative review but it's in my best interest and anyone else who may be interested in eyelash extensions offered at this nail shop to beware. Turn around and go to a place that specializes in eyelash extensions. This place solely specializes in nails for a reason and has no business offering lash extensions for $130. I am way overdue in writing this review because I simply do not like sharing bad experiences and was pretty disappointed in myself for not going with my instincts the moment I walked in. I was assured over and over that the lash tech was very experienced but the results were more than disappointing. I requested that they look natural and not too long and even showed her pictures of how I prefer my lashes and she said that was no problem. BUT-- due to having my eyes closed the whole time during this procedure, I did not see the results till she was finished and "WHOA" is all I can say. Not to mention the glue that burned my eyes for the next several hours leaving my eyes red and very irritated. And within a few days my eyelashes started breaking completely off from the lid in sections of about 20 lashes at a time. That was most likely because she used the wrong glues long with too much of it so when one lash would shed, it would take a whole group with them. Look at the pictures to see what I'm talking about. - and try not to cringe as I do. All in all, a terrible experience.
