I am a husband to a leg amputee. my wife received her wheelchair approximately a year ago from nu motion and I give them a zero rating. My wife will not get her wheelchair back for about five weeks nor will they return our call to help get her a replacement wheelchair. If there was a zero rating, I would give it. I contacted the Las Vegas office and spoke with a female with an accent. This person was not only rude but ill-informed regarding the procedure of purchasing an electric wheelchair with the help of Medicare. What she informed of was entirely opposite of what a Medicare Customer Service person explained to me and when I related what was told to me by the Medicare person, she hung up the phone. This person needs to be retrained on how to speak with customers and know her job. I attempted to recontact her to get her name but was transferred to another location to which the person was polite and apologetic for what this person did. Terrible service! They knew to come to my apartment to repair my daughter's battery for her wheelchair. They Never did! They put you on hold, transfer you to the person after saying that the person is available, only for that person to put you on their voicemail-THEY NEVER CHECK. It takes them 3 months to a year to see you, and then another 3 months to a year to do the repairs you need. We are in the process of looking for a more reliable, honest, trustworthy company. I know alot of disability people whom became family and trust me they will NOT do business with this company. read more

Absolutely, horrible customer service. My daughter's wheelchair was damaged in an accident and I needed to order some replacement parts for it. After numerous calls and waiting days for someone to call me back, I was told that her primary care physician would have to agree that the wheelchair needed repaired and submit a letter stating so. Then a claim would have to be turned into my insurance company so that they could deny it and then at that time I would be allowed to purchase the parts myself. I am working on my third week of trying to get four simple parts to fix my daughter's wheelchair which is inoperable without them. Numotion is absolutely terrible and should not be approved by insurance companies as a wheelchair provider. read more

Worst customer service I have had in years. I have been trying to get my handicap son's wheelchair serviced now for 2 months. Scheduled 3 service appointments and one they showed up too early and just left and got a blow off from the other 2. Worst company ever!!!! But so good for Swinford to show his face for a photo opportunity vs calling back customers that have been waiting months for parts that they were told would be two weeks. No updates from the company. Had to wait 34 minutes on hold when I was told it would be 11. Asked to speak to the CEO and miraculously the items were in and they could schedule to come and replace parts. Lies!!!! Sent one piece of many and no way to attach it. My husband is a paraplegic. He was suppose to get his power wheelchair from NuMotion. This company is a self centered jerk company. They refused to deliver his power wheelchair ( which he needs) because they could not put him in the chair right then. These people were not qualified to move him and we didn't have the proper equipment to move him at that time. Instead of saying we will leave the chair and when he able bring him in and we will look it over to see if we made it correctly. The putting him in the chair was an in house policy ONLY. I am actually happy to be reading all of these horror stories passing as YELP reviews! The simple answer to whatever question you have about NuMotion is yes, it really is that bad. I am happy because it is very reassuring to read all the reviews for this company. As this means I am not crazy ! I can't remember how I got entwined with this company but it has been a mess from the day my power chair was delivered. Despite input from me, my doctor and my therapist the chair never fit right from the beginning. The ATP who specked out the chair left just when the chair arrived. It arrived 7 months into my 5 year term so I figured I would just use it as a back-up chair until my time for a new chair rolled around again. Unfortunately, three years into my five year term I was dropped off a Hoyer lift, 4 feet onto a metal gurney with a 3" mattress and broke both my hips. I wasn't able to use my power chair at all. I received an evaluation from the UCSF DEPARTMENT OF REHAB, directly from a PhD physical therapist. This woman not only held an advanced degree in rehabilitation medicine, she also ran the wheelchair clinic for all of UCSF! She provided NuMotion with a template of exactly what they needed to do to make the chair work for me! I am now 16 months into my "repair". Except nothing is repaired. My chair is unusable. It is painful to simply sit in, much less move around in. My legs are different heights. I can't keep my balance because my legs have healed off kilter. As my fellow wheelies know, when one is dependent on a chair, having a company like NuMotion involved makes one's situation untenable. I know I feel despondent about my lack of ability to move. If there were a fire in my house I would not be able to get out! NuMotion continues to Flaff around. Medicare has kicked back their latest request for parts and repair time. NuMotion has dropped this back in my lap and asked ME to explain to Medicare why I need the parts they have requested! This company is slow, sloppy, unkind and poorly organized. I became a paraplegic 4 months ago after a botched surgery, and Tom came to the hospital to measure me for a "custom" wheelchair. My doc was also present, and suggested a rigid chair. The chair arrived 6 weeks later, with a host of problems. The frame stuck out so far from the seat that I couldn't reach the sink. The armrests are not attached, and frequently slide out. The footrest is sharp metal and does not remove. The wheels won't roll on the household rugs, and almost pitched me forward onto the sidewalk while rolling over a tiny crack. When I reported all this to numotion, they (Tom and Lisa) became offended, and unbelievably rude. They refused to order anything else, and said they would not take my business. They refused to let me speak to the manager. My insurance company was shocked that I never had a home evaluation before the chair was ordered. Bottom line? RUN away and find another company. read more

If I could give this place -7 stars I would. This is the most absolute trash company and it's a complete tragedy that persons with disabilities actually have to rely on these people. There is 0 urgency or care for the fact that these wheelchairs are our mobility. Every 5 years when I need a new wheelchair I am completely let down by the lack of customer service, poor management, and the inability to contact me when things have changed. I have waited for the delivery of my wheelchair for 5 months now, I've recieved a new delivery date every 3 weeks kicking back my delivery even further when my wheelchair is on its lasts legs. If I had any other option I would never in my life rely on these people. It's such a shame because the representatives that come out to the individuals homes are some of the sweetest people. Do not use. I am wheelchair bound and they refused to do my repair because I have roaches. This is after they had been repairing my chair for 3 years. Saying that I violated their Bug policy, and it was always in place. They provided a bug policy that only stated BED BUGS I provided proof it was Roaches not bedbugs and what they stated they wanted done by the pest control could not be done. (they wanted the chair bombed and you can not do due to electronics) when I called them on this I was told they were going to make sure no one worked on my chair. I am standing by my comments and am reporting Numotion to Medicare for fraud and also to the state for billing for work that they said was done and was not. My wheelchair has a broken right arm so I called Numotion to have a repair person come out. The customer service rep told me the earliest appointment wasn't until two and a half weeks from now. What? I could fall out of my chair and get hurt. Numotion may not have the appropriate piece to repair the arm so the appointment may be for not. It's apparent they don't hire enough staff to service their customers. I live in Denver. How can they run a company like this who's clientele are disabled people that depend on their wheelchair for all mobility. I don't think there is an alternative company because they have all of my insurance and medical information. Hire some people!! read more

Still terrible. We had a chair from them that needed repair. Spent nearly a week trying to get them on the phone to make an appointment, left messages, never got a call back. Finally trekked down to their office and was barely able to convince the front window person to directly take a message. Made an appointment for a week out, took a half day of from work, and the guy never shows up!!! I called to ask, and they didn't seem to even know that had happened. Horrible company! Avoid at all costs. Their customer service is substandard they should be ashamed of themselves! On average it takes at least 2 to 6 months to get a part if you're lucky and I emphasize if you're lucky. They are also known for being very rude and patronizing especially when talking to customers on the phone. In my opinion, their conduct constitutes corporate abuse and they should be held accountable for that! Additionally, I am aware that many people have no choice in the matter because that is who their insurance company contracts with. That is shameful the insurance companies should do more research. We, wheelchair users, have life hard enough and these people make it so much harder! For example, my power chair is completely dead the soonest they can get me an appointment is February 11. And I emphasize that is just the appointment. Who knows how long it will take to order a part should that be required thanks to their malfeasance. Utterly ableist uncaring company that routinely takes EIGHT MONTHS OR MORE to repair wheelchairs people DESPERATELY DEPEND ON. I don't think one customer service person I have ever spoken to their even has used a wheelchair in their entire life, which would explain their utter lack of empathy. I can't even walk right now I have to crawl across the floor because my wheelchair is broken and they refuse to fix it in a timely manner. A supervisor told me she would be my point of contact and refuses to speak to me after that. I am literally stuck crawling on the floor because they are taking eight months to fix my chair and refused to allow another company to help they say no you bought the chair from us so you have to have repairs done by us. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am with this company's billing practices and the co-pay that I eventually discovered was my responsibility. After nine months of asking a question how much will this cost me I discovered I was responsible for 50% of the cost of the wheelchair but it took me nine months to find that out and the billings became retroactive . Invoices took months to get to me and showed me past due on bills I was told I was paid in full. Worst company I have ever dealt with. read more

If you can avoid this company, please do. They wrote down the wrong phone number so they decided to just not order the chair we desperately needed. Then, they got our address wrong. When someone came to help make the large chair they loaned us appropriate (after one month of doing nothing), the guy showed up with a deflated seat and no way to inflate it. He also didn't bring the right parts. It's ridiculous how incompetent this company is. This should not happen when they are dealing with disabled patients in desperate need of help. My mom has ALS and had to spend a month indoors and in pain when she could have been outside doing things because this company is so incompetent. Promised me a Invacare chair my doctor Prescribed for me, delivered some one hung low brand chair that has no fine control on carpeting, so I end up crashing into stuff with it.
