Had dinner with friends this past week. I'll keep it simple: Pros: 1. Food was good; portions just right. None of us had any leftover to bring home. 2. I found our server to be good. Came at just the right time for another drink. 3. Ambiance is nice, on the dark side but I like that. Also, tables are well spaced so you don't have other diners on top of you. 4. Nice bar Cons: 1) Drinks are TINY for $12 and loaded with ice! I had 3 and did not even have a buzz, so i assume not too much alcohol in them as well 2) Parking is trick. I've been here a handful of times and it's an "ok" place. I usually order the Salmone Atlantico cause out of all the meals I've tried out from this restaurant, this one has been my favorite. It's a nice place for date night but they get busy on Saturday nights so I highly suggest making reservations if you are going on a weekend night. Went here on a Sunday afternoon for my mother's birthday. The restaurant is very elegant and quaint. It was also quiet since we were the only people eating, although it was late afternoon. They started us with some tasty warm rolls with olive oil. For an entree I opted for the Pork Osso Buco. Other dishes we ordered included Meat Lasagna and Salmone Atlantico. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I was pleased with my dish although the pork flavor was a bit intense, almost gamey. I would definitely return though and try another dish. Thumbs up! read more

I'm a nurse who was stuck in the city during a blizzard, working late one night and early the next day with no power at home so I stayed a hotel downtown. Because of the weather no one was delivering dinner, but when I called nuovo, the owner Loretta personally delivered a delightfully delicious dinner to my hotel and really saved the day. She was so kind to go out of her way, she made me feel like family and I didn't even eat at the restaurant! It meant a lot to feel like such a part of the community and the food was amazing to boot. What a great find! Thanks to Yelp my wife and I stumbled on Nuovo while we were passing through the area. Chopped salad, mussels, chicken marsala all excellent. We also enjoyed a simple bowl of angel hair with Marinara sauce. Everything was wonderful and each flavor was unique and cooked to perfection. Excellent Italian Dinner What a wonderful gem we found with this lovely restaurant. This is a small old two story building off of the main path. Atmosphere is business casual and romantic. There were eleven of us so we had a reservation, and our table was ready upon arriving. Menu has a wide variety of choices to choose from. The chef is from Albania and he came to our table for a visit and some nice history. Enia our waitress was friendly efficient and courteous. For starters we had Calamari, Crab Bisque and Brie. For main course I had the Scallops and my spouse the Chicken Milanese. Both meals were delicious perfectly cooked and good size portions. All the others in our group fully enjoyed their dinner also. Solid Italian food, good service, and a nice, if somewhat dated atmosphere. There are a few Balkan dishes on the menu, but its mostly straightforward Italian food that is well executed. The kitchen here is not sloppy, despite how busy it is. Prices may be a little high for Worcester, but the portions are also good sized. They also have live piano music. read more

Went to a work party at Nuovo tonight. The food and drinks were fantastic but I really want to highlight the service and care that the staff and owner provide. I showed up with a wardrobe malfunction (like accidentally flashed the whole party because my wrap skirt button broke off) and the owner Loreta saw me and immediately recognized distress. She sat me down while she went to find a safety pin and instead came back with a needle and thread to see my button back on for me! She was a Godsend. Nuovo is the best! I've been dining here for years, and the food and service is always great. I recently hosted a 30+ person event here, and the booking/planning process was so simple thanks to the owner who is lovely and so organized and responsive. They were very flexible about the setup of the room and the structure of the event, and all of the staff were attentive and sweet. The food was also delicious as always. We dined at Nuovo for the first time a few months ago and had a nice meal. The restaurant followed Covid guidelines well when we were there and we had a large booth in the back room which was very quiet. I was very surprised at all of the up charges the restaurant requires. We went out after months of not dining in restaurants and were surprised that we would be charged for dinner rolls and to add pasta to our plate. Had it not been for these charges, I would have given 5 stars, but I have never been to a restaurant that charges to add pasta to a dish that typically comes with pasta!! I can't mimic the good reviews. We had an antipasta appetizer and the prosciutto had dark spots. To make matters worse, the manager tried to convince me that it was balsamic vinegar. It wasn't. After reading positive Yelp reviews, we decided to try this place out on our most recent parent's weekend visit to our daughter's school. We knew they didn't have any reservations available, but tried to get in anyway. They were able to squeeze us in between reservations with just a 5 minute wait. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, the ambiance was just ok, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. I know there are other areas within the restaurant. We ate in the room just beyond the reception desk and it was cold feeling (not temperature-wise) and they really cram the people/tables in, so you're eating right on top of other people, it felt like. I'd definitely go back if there was another area with better ambiance. Otherwise, the food was really good. I never add seasoning and continued to add pepper to the steak. Rice was amazeballs, despite not liking spinach and the beans didn't work. It was like eating raw garlic cloves. Yuck. You can take your finger, rub it on the bottle and have a finger full of dust. Unacceptable and disgusting! Now, the person I was with ordered a moscow mule. I will always be a patron of this establishment because of a personal experience I had two years ago when my husband was ill. We were at Nuovo for dinner, my husband wanted soup but the kind he wanted was not offered that night. The owner/chef came to our table and told my husband that he can whip up anything that he wanted. In fifteen minutes, my husband was served Pasta Fagioli. My wife and I had a great dinner at Nuovo. The pasta is always fresh and the seafood dishes are awesome. All of the salads and appetizers are typically $10. Most of their dinners are in the $20-26 range. We each ordered an appetizer and a main dish. You're probably wondering why the low overall rating. Here's where it went wrong for me. All specials are offered verbally. There's no specials menu. I ordered a salad special and my wife ordered a dinner special. Most restaurants set the prices for specials consistent with other offerings on their menu or they let you know the price of the special items verbally. Both dishes were good but I think what makes them "special" is that they were both 33% higher in price than similar items. I made the waitstaff aware of the issue and management did not come to our table to discuss. Clearly we were just income. To me this overrides all the other ratings. I don't like it when companies take advantage of their customers. Based on this, I will not be returning to Nuovo. There are many other small business restaurants in Worcester who don't try to take extra money from their customers. They are in the kitchen preparing dinners and then out in the dining area greeting customers. If you do go: Don't order the specials or make sure to find out the price. read more

Went here for the first time this week, great decision! Decor was very nice and staff were very kind. Baked brie was absolutely delicious, loved the touch of fig. Caesar salad was great, my go-to salad anywhere I go. Haddock with ravioli was delicious...very good flavor and quality. Small in portion, but tasty. The dessert (chocolate cake) was mediocre.
