Enjoyed a weekday dinner here for Restaurant Week in Worcester. The night was the casual and very warm environment. Greeted by the hostess within 1 minute and the got us a table as well. The waiter was great, very friendly, and personable. The food was great too. Appetizers and entrees were hot and freshly prepared and nothing was overwhelmingly salty or too under-seasoned- they did Italian food with a very robust and savory flavor. I got the Chicken Parm and arancini for my appetizer- I thought the Chicken parm was flavored well but because there was sauce on the chicken it was a bit soggy when i bite into it. The sauce and noodles were good though. The arancini was crispy and fried to perfection and topped with parmesan cheese. I would say the rice balls could have even used more cheese inside! My sister got the clam chowder and the steak with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes, which she was very pleased with as well, She loved both dishes and she said she made a good decision with her options! She said the clam chowder was comforting and warm- great for the cold weather. The steak was cooked medium rare and the steak juices and sauce were also boasting worthy, By the completion of the entrees, we were both stuffed, to say the least. We asked our waiter if we could get a box for some of our leftovers, and if we could have the dessert to take away as well. She got that all set up for us. Overall, I would give the experience a positive 4 stars. Restaurant week or not, I think this place would be a nice dinner spot to catch up with a friend or on a nice night out for Italian food. Giving mid, nothing more. Small space, basic food, basic service . It night be special for a date night, or locals who connect with nostalgia from going here and eating thier favorite dishes . They only open at 4 pm. We went at in at 4 pm, and most tables were reserved and unavailable. In the far corner there is a booth, with only 1 side! So a couple has to sit next each other looking at a wall. Our server Gabby was non-existent, but she's leaving next week so who cares. I'll come back if someone else is buying, maybe. Came in a few nights ago for a good meal and IU commend the wait staff for friendliness and service. I've a certain dish that I had all over the place, but presenting this as a authentic Steak Braciole was like eating a meat wrapped stuffing loaf. Honestly, I looked at the price on this dish and thought it should have been $30+ if authentic. Well you get what you pay for. A BIG ADD ON: I eaten there many times and its really good for the price. I think this missive is more for the chef. Buy good ingredients. Amici is back! This was the first restaurant we went to when we moved to this area in 2019, and we've seen Amici have ups and downs since then. They were amazing at the start, strong through COVID, then the quality dropped a bit and we came less often. Now.. everything seems good again! The flavors are more pronounced, the portions are significant, the lobster in the lobster dishes is plentiful (important!), and the service is excellent. We really enjoyed the wild arugula salad as well. So happy to have such a great option nearby! read more

I love this place. Everything about it, especially the food. The service is also great. For the longest time, they served THE BEST chicken parm and other parm sandwiches. They were easily a 10/10 and the best around.......until they changed the bread! Now it's a 7 out of 10 at best and doesn't stand out in any way. Just another deep fried chicken sandwich. The food here is excellent! They have a variety of dishes on their menu. Our waiter was very attentive. Portions are very generous, and pricing is reasonable. Walked in on a slow night, no bother at all, sometimes it's better that way. Ordered bruschetta to start then chicken parm & eggplant parm both with tagliatelle pasta. Bruschetta was simply diced tomatoes on oily seasoned lightly toasted bread. No balsamic drizzle. Chicken parm was actually a huge portion, 2 large chicken cutlets and some pasta. First cutlet was loaded with cheese & sauce, but the second cutlet underneath didn't have any sauce or cheese on it. The pasta was sticking together and slightly clumped in areas with minimal sauce on it. Completely flavorless. The eggplant parm was undercooked, so more hard than soft but also thick and flavorless. Last night was both my friend and I's first time dining at Amici. We heard of it through their listing on the Worcester restaurant week. It's small but a cute and cozy spot, we were seated right away. However, once seated it took 15/20 mins to get acknowledged and/or get water, and while the waitress was very sweet and kept apologizing, a full hour had passed before we received our cocktails (My Cosmo was very good, my friend ordered off their drink list, and said her drink was just ok). Onto the food, food was good. The arancini was pretty good, I had the pollo alla melanzana and the sauce was flavorful, and chicken was cooked perfectly. My only critique would be I had no eggplant. I had two diced cubes in the entire dish! The BEST part was that ricotta pie! I wish I ordered a slice (or two) to go! read more

I guess I'm just a fool. Went back here for a take out order last week. The tomato sauce for my granddaughter's pasta was awful. The chicken and broccolli consisted of overcooked small pieces of flavorless chicken, gummy pasta and huge florets of broccolli. My daughter in law had the same dish and it was equally bad. The real kicker though was the Italian sandwich...these people put spring mix on an Italian sandwich, and it wasn't even fresh spring mix. My son ordered that for his dinner and he literally tossed 3/4 of the sandwich. I'm a fool because I tried this place again hoping that they may have figured it out. I was wrong. read more

Pretty good meal. The drinks were ok, I would skip out on the drink menu or order a standard drink. The staff was really nice as well and the restaurant isn't back to back tables which is nice because even a full restaurant didn't feel crowded. I usually get there pizza for takeout. We really enjoy Amici Trattoria and visit for dinner once every few months. Usually it is a last minute decision to head over after a busy work day where delicious Italian food hits the spot. We always sit at the bar, the bartenders are very attentive and professional - plus they make a great martini! They have a lobster and shrimp risotto dish that I get every single time. I commend them on their ability to replicate it identically every time I've been. We've had a handful of appetizers and tried other pasta dishes, there are no complaints from us! read more

Last night was my second time dining at Amicis and it's a super cute little Italian spot in town. The only complaint I could possibly have would be the wine list, there was no way I was paying $10 a glass for a bottle I can find at total wine for $8. As i was in shrewbury near Boston for a couple of days, and i wanted to eat good italian food so i choose this restaurant. But despite excellent service it has very ordinary food. I wouldn't say it's awful but nothing to be remembered. My cod filet with bread crumbs wasn't very tasty and i think it was frozen. And spaghetti was just ok. Everybody found their meals very ordinary. Maybe pizzas are better. Comme j'étais à Shrewbury près de Boston et que je voulais manger italien j'ai choisi ce resto. Et, en dépis de l'excellent service la nourriture était très moyenne. Je ne dirais pas que c'était affreux mais rien de mémorable. Tonight my wife and I took a chance that we might be able to get seated at Amici on Mother's Day without a reservation. We arrived around 6 pm and found we could sit at the bar - perfect! Our bartender Tyler was terrific! We started with a cocktail that was excellent. Next we had the calamari appetizer, also excellent. I ordered chicken piccata and was more than pleased. Chicken was cooked perfectly as was the last. Lots of capers and a delicious buttery sauce. All the staff was friendly, polite and professional. One thing I observed was very disappointing- nothing to do with our visit but rather the actions of some other guests. The staff was obviously upset that there was a table that was very unhappy and they were trying to rectify the situation. From what I could gather is the women who was there with her husband and 2 children was upset that they had to wait to be seated. What people need to realize is that the cause of excessive wait times (especially on such a busy day) is most likely caused by the previous patrons who lingered longer than normal and caused the delay. I saw the staff doing eve they could to mitigate the situation. one of the staff had a panic attack and had to leave the restaurant. I'm retired from the luxury automobile business and have seen the best and the worst. I wish people would look at how fortunate they are to live in this wonderful town with this great restaurant. Please remember how many people in this world who would be happy with a piece of bread and a cup of water. Appreciate what you have! read more

Where do I begin! We arrived at 6:45 for our reservation. At 7:15 we were still waiting for someone to come over to take our drink order. My boyfriend got up and went to the hostess table to let them know we we were still waiting. When our waitress finally showed she took our order. She never offered us any bread. At 8:00 we were still waiting on our meals. Finally at 8:15 I asked to speak to a manager. He came over and said he'd check on our meals. A few minutes later the waitress came back and said they were were going to comp our meals. 8:25 still nothing. At this point we were ready to get up and leave & then the waitress finally came with our meals. My boyfriend got the risotto with steak, literally looked like soup and I ordered angel hair with chicken and eggplant. It had zero flavor & the eggplant was awful. So literally we waited this long and then didn't even get a half decent meal. The waitress the. had the nerve to bring us a bill for our 2 soda waters totaling $8.50 I have never been treated so poorly and never waited that long before at any restaurant. The manager was incompetent. He should have been checking on the entire restaurant and filling in where needed. So disappointed. read more

Went here for dinner. I had the Frutti di Mare with garlic and oil. The shrimp and scallops didn't taste fresh. I probably got through three quarters of it before I hit a scallop that tasted so off that I stopped eating. My wife had the 6 oz filet mignon with balsamic and mushrooms. The meat was fine but the mushrooms were either canned or prepared by boiling somehow. The asparagus was chopped up which didn't help it. The service was prompt and pleasant. I did mention seafood freshness to the waitress -- not asking for a refund, just a FYI. I guess she thought I ate too much of it to respond without snark, so points off for that. The place is half take-out pizzeria and half sit-down restaurant. The sit-down half keeps a pretty nice vibe. Amici and Willy's are run by the same people. Dined at Amici's last night, with my sister. We started with an appetizer, Sicilian Arancini, which was delicious! For entrees my sister had Eggplant Parmesan and I had Chicken Piccata. Both meals were hot, very tasty, and came out pretty quickly. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us a few times. The restaurant is divided into one half for take out and the other for dining in. The restaurant side has a nice bar area and the dining room, on the smaller side, is cozy and inviting. It's funny to see how the bad reviews have nothing to do with the food. We all can cook Italian at home, but some days we want to go out and get better food that is better than we can cook at home. This is the spot and like many of us, we all have had our fair share of generic Italian restaurants where the food is nothing special. When I go to amici's all I want to do is reload my fork and go for another another bite. If had 4 or 5 of the entrees here and they all were pretty good. If you're not sure what to get, my favorite dish is the veal shank with truffle risotto. The Vitello Osso Buco. It's in incredible dish. The risotto is always spot on. Personally I didn't like the haddock dish. It was my 3rd time trying haddock and it's just too fishy for me. The veal parmigiana always slaps. This place is great... in the end If you want some good Italian I highly suggest this spot. It's a small place so try not to go when it's a busy hour/the weekend if you prefer to walk right in and eat. Drink/wine menu could be a little better and have more options. read more

We tried out this spot for the first time during Worcester restaurant week this year. My fiancé didn't like the entrée options on the restaurant week menu so ended up ordering off their regular menu. I ended up going vegetarian and ordered the crostini (without the prosciutto) which probably would have been better with the added saltiness of the meat which I had removed. I also had the butternut squash risotto which I found to be quite flavorful and well cooked. The squash was soft but not mushy and added a nice sweetness to the overall dish. My fiancé ordered the pollo e salsiccia fra diavlo which he found to be tasty but could've been flavored more and made spicier. He also liked the addition of the cherry red peppers. The pasta also tasted like standard penne, nothing homemade or special. For dessert, I had the almond apricot bread pudding which was warm, soft, and not overly sweet. I do wish they had incorporated the apricots a little better since it just tasted like they sprinkled in some pieces of dried apricots. I also ordered an espresso martini with my dessert course and I found it to be creamy and delicious. They made it with rum chata which was a first for me but I liked the flavor it brought to the drink. read more

We ordered takeout on a Sunday night. We ordered the veal risotto, tortellini gambierri and a Caesar salad. The portions were 1/2 of what they used to be. Total was $85. Unfortunately it was not worth what we paid. Will not be ordering from there again. read more

They blocked entire length of parking on Main St. directly outside of the restaurant for curbside pickup which is about 7 car lengths. (It's public parking that Amici's doesn't own.) it was raining so we parked in the 7th space and went in to eat. The woman manager asked the bartender to ask us to move our vehicle. We complied. The entire time we were there about 3 cars came and all had no other cars waiting for curbside pickup. When we left it was rainy again and we weren't parked close. Terrible customer service on behalf of the management. I feel bad for the wait staff. Food is good, but was ruined by the experience. read more

This place has some killer pizza. The sauce is not too sweet, and the ingredients top notch. I like the sausage/mushroom, but have yet to have a bad pie here. Crust is bubbly and fairly thin. It's pricey ($15-$20 for a large), but well worth it. A large pizza and large house salad feeds 3 hungry guys pretty well. Also of note, the best steak and cheese in recent memory "steak deluxe". The roll is super-fresh, probably baked in-house... and big chunks of melt-in-your-mouth steak smothered with peppers and onions and mushrooms... topped with Provolone. Not your standard pizza-store steak sub! The Chicken Parm is also excellent. Real breaded chicken, homemade sauce... mmm. Usually we do take out from here. Their entrees are pricey and the place is always jammed on weekends. The dining room is small, and mostly booths. There's also a full bar with bar seating. The Risotto dishes are incredible (veal, especially). I tried the Scallop appetizer once... it was like 6 scallops and some lettuce for $9 or something ridiculous. So avoid that one. I went in there once with my parents for coffee and desserts. The mocha was about perfect, and the desserts were delectable... I think I had something called a chocolate bomb which I recommend highly. read more

I had eaten at Amici about a year ago, on the recommendation of a chef who had formerly worked there. "Scratch kitchen," he said. "Everything is prepared right there." The dinner a year back was really nice. I recall my gnocci as being very tender (I really loathe starchy gnocci) with a nice cheesy nip to the sauce. My daughter's veal was really excellent, too. I had wanted to visit again before posting a review, and now I have finally done it - last week, I visited for lunch. I was on my own, and the staff made sure that I could choose a seat so as not to feel awkward as a solo diner (actually, I never do, but still they were very considerate). I ordered the house pizza, cooked in Neapolitan style with a thin crust, melty cheese topping and light sauce. Before the pizza arrived, I got two small rolls of bread. They were really nice, giving me a chance to try the house oils and ponder what I would put on my pizza. Pizza came out promptly, and it was a very excellent example of the Neapolitan style. Liquidy, cheese interior; thin, crispy crust; great cornicione (the thick crust part at the edges). So it was really nice, and the tomatoes were clearly of high quality, but I have now resigned myself to acknowledging that, although I want to love Neapolitan style pizza, I actually don't. The runny cheese pooled in the centre (the hallmark of a Neapolitan) and the oddly (to my taste) separate outer crust just do not seem to meld together for me as a pizza experience. But that is just my preference ... Amici's pizza was, as I have said, an excellent rendition of pizza in the Neapolitan style. Amici boasts charming decor, nice service, decent parking, and excellent food. It is a bit pricier than most of the restaurants in the neighbourhood, but worth it if you would like an Italian meal. read more
