I grew up in the desert and this is 100 percent how spas and hotels use to be before the desert got ruined. No TVs' in the rooms and it's nice a windy up in those hills so it's good for meditating. The spa is older and cool. Very relaxing property and owners and is a good place to detox, mediate and take in good waters. Very good water quality from their own property source with high PH and magnesium. I always feel refreshed after a few hours in the water. Cool rooms, some with little kitchens and a little breakfast area is set up in the spa in the mornings with coffee and teas. The shower, pools and even drinking water are from the source so one to two days stay with clean eating will clean you out. I recommend for relaxing and getting some quiet time. The crowd is a now a bit too much "LA" and "OC" but most are cool. Good legal city run dispensaries near by and some cool restaurants to eat at. Great view of Mt. San Jacinto form the side and nice pool outside for quiet time. read more

My wife & I stayed a night at Nurturing Nest and left feeling mixed about our experience. Bottom line, Nurturing Nest did not feel like a hotel or a SPA, it felt more like a no-frills retreat house at a Marriott Courtyard price point. The Pros: - Friendly & hospitable owners who are on or near the premises. - Small (7 rooms); which means it's quiet and you'll get to enjoy the pool and hot spring pool without the rowdy crowds. -Mattress was firm and fairly comfortable. The meh's: - We booked room 7 which was a good sized one bedroom unit; the room was furnished with IKEA furniture. There were holes in the walls, broken blinds (making it difficult to sleep once the sun came at 5:30), and a shower and sink that were clogging. - There's nothing around here, just a 7-11 and a Chinese restaurant, which is fine if your plan is to stay on the property the whole time but less ideal if you want to get out and explore. - Cats on the premises! I read some prior reviews that there was a cat (actually two) but didn't expect them to be lounging on the chairs right outside our room the majority of the time. I might consider returning, but not at the current price point. read more

Just like another yelper mentioned, I have mixed feelings about the place. There's good, there's bad, and there's the reasons why I would or wouldn't come back. Pros: it's quiet. It's a small place so you really have a place to truly have a retreat and get away from it all...even from other people. The indoor pool is hot, and I mean really hot. But at times, it was a bit too hot. The outdoor pool is nice and cool and perfect when the sun isn't directly above because it allows a little bit of shade to relax. Sandy upgraded our room to one that had a kitchenette which was so nice of her. A refrigerator was perfect and absolutely necessary given the heat. There's a mini breakfast included which comes with cereal, granola, fruit, juice, and coffee. Cons: it's not fancy by any means. It's a bit dingy, there's water damage to the ceiling in the room, there's no TV, the bathroom gets no air circulation, and the only AC is a small wall unit. The website and yelp photos of the rooms must have been during better days. Going during a very hot summer may not be the best time to go given the heat discomfort in the room. The pool needed to have a good clean with the pool net and the lounge chairs were a bit dirty. The price is a bit steep for what you get. Overall, I was able to relax and I didn't have to be bothered by a ton of other people. So in that sense, the visit was a success. Although the next time I make a trip out, I'll likely want to stay in a nicer room. read more

Five stars for the chill factor and for Sandy, the owner of the property. This quaint 7 room hot springs is simple, chill and relaxing. Don't come here expecting a 5 star resort of some sort. Come with an open mind and open heart. I'm not sure about all the other rooms, but Room 6 came with a patio seating area, a kitchen equipped with pans, and dish sets. Again, don't expect fancy China. Also, a small table for two. It's basically a small bachelorette pad ;). Also, in the room is a retro sofa and queen size bed that's very comfy. The mineral water inside is very hot and soft. You don't leave itchy or feeling dirty. The outside pool was a bit too cold for the cool weather. It's a zen weekend for me! read more

Don't let the 3 stars scare you away. Although this place has seen better years, and it is in need of tender loving care, it is an affordable option. The water is nice and hot in the inside pool and amazingly cool for an outside pool in the middle of a hot desert summer. It is super quiet here. The noisiest thing would be the wall shaker air conditioning in our room. There are only 7 units so it is a small property. There were two other couples here enjoying this peaceful getaway. I'd come back here for the water but for me I'd rather pay more and get a really nice room. read more

Another home away from home, but with spa! This place is never crowded with just 7 rooms on the property. We usually have the pool to ourselves or just with another couple. The pool is a step away from your room and kept in just right temperature. Their bed is very comfortable and room is simple and clean. As Vy N's review says from two years ago there is still no TV, clock, no phones in the room. So there is not much to do except relax, soak, and relax again. Loved this nature nurturing environment. It was a real cool event in this plaza. The rooms weren't ready for the reception but it was good for me. Me and my bro came to get some good shut eye from the reg life in the LBMC but it was nice but not so nice for this event. I must say the owner was a pleasant little gem in these Rocky Mountains. I liked the hot tub experiment but it could use a little more Clorox wipes to go around the out side of the office. The ac in our room didn't work which was a deal breaker coming from the Washington way to be. But all in all I would come here again for the next generation and my little baby would enjoy it as well. A perfect little getaway in Desert Hot Springs. Our room, #6, was perfect! It has a private and decently spacious patio area beside it. The room was super clean and comfortable. The whole place is under 10 rooms, and has an intimate and "community oriented vibe." We said hello to people and enjoyed conversations, and with some people we gave them space/shared a smile and we all enjoyed the waters in peace. The spa is in a pool room which is an enclosed structure yet there are many open windows (the whole way around it actually) and the desert winds blow in and it feels open and airy. The view is looking south out across Palm Springs to the beautiful 10,000+ foot mountain peak (I think it's called San Jacinto). And from the indoor heated mineral pool, or the cooler outdoor pool (which also is mineral water) you view south and see that magnificent mountain - very comforting and majestic. No rowdy crowds, more mature and intimate. We were there in late March, so supposedly that is the "windy-er season" ... they say it is always or usually "kind of windy" ... but we did experience some really high winds...which made sleeping in room 6 one night a little tougher, because room 6 has that open patio area facing to the south, the direction that the winds come from - so the whole room is pretty exposed to the wind. The other rooms are adjacent to eachother and thus only have a window to the interior courtyard - and one on the back side looking out to the pretty view between the two mountains. If you're a real light sleeper and gonna be there when it might be really windy - maybe stay in one of the more interior rooms. There is also another free standing room (not sure what #) in a cute little building toward the front (north side) of the property. The pool area is clean and comfortable and the furniture is new and inviting. It's not a posh hotel-y feel, for those who need a ton of pampering and high-end makeovers to run their lives. It is clean, relaxing and absolutely nurturing. Didn't have massages but heard they are wonderful. The waters really did relax me and my muscles and my mind. Aaaaaaaahhhh is the word that comes to mind. Bliss and relaxation. Thank you Nurturing Nest. Sandy, the owner, is gentle and kind ... and has her "nest" in order. The Nest is about 15-20 mins from Downtown Palm Springs ... and about 30 mintues from Downtown Yucca Valley (such a wonderful find for my girlfriend who loves to shop in Vintage / Antique stores, and I found a yummy and healthy cafe to get food, and I even enjoyed the western and natural and fun old goodies that there were to look at in the stores in Yucca Valley.) The locals and shop owners are soooooo NICE, couldn't believe it ... Ma Rouge Coffee House had fresh/healthy fare and a full cafe/tea bar.... awesome old-ish west feel inside, but the friendly/smiling/enlightened-y locals ... made it feel New West. I am a Landscaper, so I appreciate it for what/ how it is. We were there in March so there were a few desert plants in bloom. Lots of cactus and wondrous rock outcroppings ... GO HIKING !!! ... once there, THE LIVE MUSIC WAS AWESOME... We saw 3 bands from LA ... The Janks, The Lonely Wild and The Broken Numbers Band. Think Silver Lake hip, slick, strength and style meeting 70's Rock - Van Morrison, Allman Brothers Band, James Taylor and The Doors (Quality!) .... perfect to go with a few good games of pool, drinks, 250?? other people swarming around having fun ... the outdoor fire...the dusty old west scene .... DELICIOUS barbeque awaiting once we finally got our table. And that cool high-desert night air to great you when you leave. Joshua Tree National Park was interesting to see ... but being the avid outdoorsman that I am... not a rock climber per say .. I was a little "bored at the prospects of the park" ... the landscape is straight off the moon or somehwere far and distant... Interesting, but repetitive. I'm used to hiking through Yosemite or the Rocky Mountains in Colorado where the landscape and destinations hold my interest a little firmer. It is with a heavy heart that I'm writing a not so great review. I really wanted to love this place as I'm one of those spiritually woo woo kind of gals. The owners backgrounds really interested me. When I got to the resort no one was there to check me in. If this nice woman wasn't waiting with me and had the owners number, I don't know how I would have gotten in. Then I was checked in by a day planner. I told the owner I needed ice because I inject myself each night with medications and if I don't use ice I bruise. So, she put some ice aside and told me I would have access to the freezer where check in was. When I tried to get the ice later the door was locked! Then she showed me my room and my bed wasn't made. She didn't make it just left it that way. Then she ran back to give me some shampoo and conditioner. I noticed the next morning that she only gave me shampoo. It is supposed to be a quiet retreat but I could hear everything my neighbors were saying because the walls were paper thin. I don't know how the treatments are but the owners seemed out to lunch. The wi fi password was not posted in the rooms and the connection was really really slow. I skipped breakfast because it was just granola. They didn't even check me out, they just took my key. My stay was literally like staying in a dirty, run down, dorm room. They need to take better care of the place and be more mindful of their guests needs. For the same price I could have stayed at a quieter, cleaner place with more amenities. The neighbor hood wasn't that great either. All around it was a real disappointment. I expected more from spiritually minded people. read more

Very cool hot springs pool area with lots of seating outside... And amazing covered/indoor warm spring pool. The outside pool is not as big as I would like but it's nice. The room was clean but the bed was shanky and the ikea boards kept falling out. The room we got had a kitchen but the oven didn't work and immediately filled out room up with gas when we turned it on. Nice yogurt and granola breakfast... Great wifi... Pools are open all night.... It is half the price of my favorite spot Miracle Manor... but it does not have the zen vibe that miracle manor has. This is a pretty good spot to stay in desert hot springs... it's worth a try. read more

This place was amazing in so many ways to start off with we received a phone call from the owner to confirm our arrival time and let us know our room was ready then upon arriving we were meet by Sandy the owner and shown our room and the property. The indoor pool / spa was the most healing water I've ever been in with a natural temperature around 105 degrees this is just what me and my wife needed after a long day of physical work. There is only seven rooms so we were the only ones in the pool and it was the most relaxing evening that we've had in a long time. If you are looking for a quiet get away and enjoy natural hot springs then this place is for you. read more

Peaceful, simple, this spa has two pools -- one hot and one outside, under the stars, about body temperature. Both are open all night for guests. Breakfast of yogurt, coffee and fruit was included in the room fee. Our room had a little kitchen area, with a stove, fridge and sink, which was a little bit more but worth it. What a pleasant surprise! My first impression of Desert hot Springs was not good, however once you step into the nest, you feel like you're putting your life on hold in order to rejuvenate. The owners are very caring and can assist with any personal issues as Dr. Ram had done for me! I had been under a lot of stress and Ram was able to assist with releasing it, he is a natural healer. My mom and my 3 sisters just got from this hidden treasure in Palm Desert The Nurturing Nest is an invigorating and and awesome place to recharge and reset the hit button. My sister came with body aches and she felt refreshed and new. My mom even swears she found the fountain of youth. And indeed she looked years younger after our stay. The indoor hot springs is is key to relaxation and rejuvenation. We did twice daily dips in the indoor hot springs and with the alkalinity of the water it left our hair and skin beyond soft. Better results than The Chanel spa at the Ritz in Paris or the La Mer Spa at the Baccarat hotel in NYC! The Nurturing Nest is a great place for getting away from it all....of course it doesn't hurt that the high fashion designer outlet is only a few minutes away. Always a plus for a girls trip. Sandy, the owner is a sweet lady and provides up and beyond customer service. We will for sure be back. Such a relaxing few days. After failed attempts at western meds and doctors who were scrip happy I gave up and searched for a pain healing retreat and I found dr sandy and ram I arrived, in chronic pain with siatica and lower back pain. The first few days were hard but I was so surprised at the continuous support and nurturing by both of them. Little by little and day after day I saw big big improvements they worked with me and met me fear with patience once I was ready with dr. I love coming to this place - simple, no fuss, clean, quiet, welcoming. I've stayed 4 or 5 times and enjoy every stay. If you want to get away, detox, spend some time breathing, or just read a book or magazine while lounging by a pool - this is the place. Nurturing Nest is an Oasis of tranquility and civility. The perfect place when you need to get away from LA to reset for a few days. The rooms are clean and simple, but very comfortable. Some of the rooms have kitchenettes, so you can be self-catering, which makes it a really affordable weekend get away. Room 6 has a BBQ and a private patio with a gorgeous view of the mountain. A great place for a relaxed, romantic get away. The mineral pools are small, but the water is divine. My fiance and I have been twice and each time we had the pools mostly to ourselves. One of my favorite details is that they put real tea-light lanterns around the indoor pool after dark. What could possibly be better than soaking by candlelight?! Sandy and Ram are gracious hosts. They are friendly, welcoming, and attentive to guests needs, while giving you plenty of space to unwind and enjoy the calm. If you are expecting the Four Seasons or some super hipster hideout, this is not the place for you. However, if you want a low-key, relaxing get away, you've come to right place. I really liked this private hotel. There are only 7 rooms total. I didn't want to stay in a busy commercial type of hotels. But this hotel was very quiet and private. I stayed in the room that had a Queen size bed with a full size kitchen. The room was a good size. It was clean and plenty of towels. There wasn't a microwave which I didn't need. Instead, I just heated up food by gas stove, and that's even better. This room was like an apartment. It also had a very private patio with a little BBQ grill. Someone left charcoals there, if I knew it I would have done BBQ! The view of mountain from this balcony was nice. I was able to see the mountains from pools too. The swimming pool had a perfect temperature and not many people used it. Indoor hotsprings was warmer which I loved it. Breakfast was provided. The owner of the hotel was very friendly. I really had a great time. I'd love to come back to this hotel again soon. read more

Hidden gem! We stayed here for Labor Day weekend and absolutely loved everything about it. Sandy and Ram reached out to confirm our arrival time to be sure they would be available to give us a tour. We rented the villa and it was extremely spacious, clean and made us feel like we were right at home with a fully stocked kitchen and refrigerators in both rooms. The pool was clean and the hot springs so relaxing. It was my first time experiencing hot springs and couldn't believe how soft and good the water felt. The owners of this place have created a delightful oasis in Desert Hot Springs. I first came here the week they opened in December of 1997. I have visited often over the years whenever I was nearby visiting family. I LOVE the water. I have watched them grow their Nurturing Nest from it's beginnings. This past summer I was a guest for about 5 weeks after my house burned down. It felt like coming home to my home away from home. I utilized the waters several times each day for self healing. And as a bonus, Sandi, a chiropractor, is also a very excellent massage therapist. Hands on healing is great here. Also, I've met some lovely people as guests. The breakfasts are are just enough with fresh fruits, granola, and yoghurt. Coffee and a selection of delicious teas. There are walkable restaurants nearby (okay, maybe not walkable in the summer). read more

I stayed here one night with my friends last weekend and this place is awesome! To be honest, I was a little bit disappointed when we first arrived. But after I stepped into the yard and saw the pools, I know this is the place that I am looking for. There are two pools, one is outside and another one is inside. The water is healing. We stayed in the outside pool at night and we can see a lot of stars in the sky. It's just so relaxing. The room is big and clean.
