I meet with Cassale (nutritionist) once a week to talk about food - what's working, what's not. We also talk about what's going on in my life and how it has affected my decisions (I'm a "stress" eater). She shares the science behind all of it and takes a deep dive into my week providing thoughtful guidance on the upcoming week. She is genuinely committed to my success and she keeps me honest. I have lost almost 20 pounds, which feels GREAT! I feel better in my clothes and feel so much better about myself overall. Most importantly, I make better decisions about food - don't get me wrong, every now and then I "splurge", but it's not like it used to be. I feel like I have control over food, it doesn't control me anymore and it's never difficult to get back on track. I actually prefer being on track - I feel better overall when I am eating good food. If you are at that point where you feel overwhelmed and you need real support, I highly recommend Marin Weight Loss & Wellness.     This place is a scam. Cassale sent me a so-called "personalized diet plan" that was not…read morepersonalized at all. She initially told me I should be eating 1,500 calories per day, yet the plan she sent was based on 2,500 calories per day. I also clearly stated that I am allergic to fish, but the diet plan still included fish. When I pointed out these errors, she became defensive instead of apologetic. She insisted the plan was made specifically for me and said she would only fix it if I paid for additional sessions. There was no apology and no attempt to correct her mistakes. I was charged full price for a completely inaccurate and careless plan.

At 52 I knew I had to do something or my mobility would continue to decline and my health would deteriorate. I thought I'd work with Ali for 30 minutes and our interaction would be over until the next session. But Ali's support and encouragement doesn't stop when our session is over. She genuinely cares and wants to know how I'm doing both physically and emotionally outside of the gym. When we started talking about nutrition I thought oh here it comes, I'll never be able to eat anything that tastes good ever again. I was so wrong. Ali has taught me to have a healthy relationship with food. I didn't have to go on some crazy diet and half starve myself or drink weird "cleansing" potions. I made moderate modifications to my diet and started drinking a lot more water. Pretty simple, so doable and it has made a huge difference in the way I feel. When I first started training with Ali doing even simple exercises was a challenge. She created a plan that addresses my specific needs and imbalances. A year ago I couldn't even get into a plank position and doing a pushup was impossible. Now a year later, I can deadlift 110lbs, flip a giant tire, swing a 16lbs sledgehammer, curl 30lbs and so much more. I'm doing things that I never thought I'd be able to do and I am having fun!
