I'm not the type to call any company for service before I do my research because let's face it, not all companies are genuine and honest about what's needed. After reading these reviews I decided to call Nutterman's to repair my dryer. I had service with Nick Jr and he explained clearly what was going on. He even suggested he could repair the rollers but from the looks of them I didn't need them at the moment. Repair took less than an hour and I was drying my clothes instantly. My dishwasher decided to quit draining two weeks ago. I milked the "no dishwasher" thing as long as possible until the wife made a case out of it. It's only because I knew it would cost a few dollars to fix that I delayed. I didn't do an exhaustive search. I live in Olathe and Nutterman's came up in my search and everywhere I looked was given high marks so of course I gave them a call later in the afternoon. They are no doubt busy and what I would call a Mom & Pop Shop (a good thing) so the phone went to voicemail. No big deal. I then called again in the morning and left another message (remember it is now a "case" which I take responsibility for). Very soon thereafter I received a call back. I gave the details and got a quote. WOW! It is expensive to fix a dishwasher drain pump. Not as much as a new washer but WOW. (If you don't read to the end I did it myself with Nutterman's help - much much cheaper but they are worth it to not have to do what I did - either way call them.) Here is the great thing . . . they offered to sell me the parts and then help me over the phone. Can you believe that?!? What was the catch - more expensive parts? NO! I called Marcone Supply where I bought parts before. Nutterman's were the same or a little cheaper! I remembered I needed a latch handle assembly as well and Nutterman's was $4.00 more but on the pump they were about $10.00 less. WINNING! So after stretching out the inevitable two more days I stopped by and picked up the parts saving well over $100.00 vs having them fix it. I then was able to stretch out attacking the pump one more day. The handle was EASY. I needed Nick's help for the drain pump. Again, I called in and left a message and shortly thereafter Nick (am guessing he is the owner and a technician at Nutterman's) called and of course left me a message because I must have somehow knew it had to do with fixing my washer so I didn't answer. A couple hours later I was in the right state of mind (I was told to get in the right state of mind and I complied) so I called Nick and he answered right away. He gave me some advice and said I could keep firing away with questions. I switched to text messaging at this point because I felt guilty as I must have sent him over a dozen texts some with pictures. He was GREAT, patient and very helpful. Reassuring me that it was OK to ask and he enjoyed helping. How awesome is that in this day? Let me tell you - SUPER DUPER AWESOME is what it is! My advice to you. Have them come do it for you. I wasn't sure my fat arm would fit under the dishwasher and it came out rather bloody. Save your arm and spend the money unless you are cheap or like a challenge. I would highly recommend Nick! I called him the day before Christmas Eve and he was very nice but couldn't come until after Christmas to fix my dishwasher, which was ok with me. We talked through the "symptoms" and he gave me a price over the phone. We scheduled a 2 hour window from 4-6 on Tuesday 12/27. I texted him that morning and asked him to text me before he came so I could make sure I was home. He did and he showed up a little before 5. He was done by 6, it cost exactly what he said it would and he left the area very tidy. If/when I have another appliance break down I WILL definitely call Nick again! read more

We called the guy to get our microwave fixed. Which he did fix alright. But the guy charged us $230 for the service. For 45 minute worth of work... Really?? So when we enquired, here is how the cost breakdown worked for us. 79.99 (This is just for the guy to show up at your door). Even if it means he will touch nothing, you still owe him 79.99. Then $120 to pull down the microwave (really??). He was not ashamed to tell us about this... And then, $50 bucks for the actual repair. Total time spent doing all of this less than 45 minutes. It feels like a rip off for what was done. Microwave is fixed but could have used better judgement before setting up the appointment. read more

I called Nutterman's when my clothes dryer quit on me. Was able to get service scheduled promptly (next day,) and Nick showed up right on time. He fixed the dryer quickly & it's working fine. He loses a star for reattaching the duct vent in such a half-assed manner that it popped off almost immediately, but fortunately I was able to fix that myself, didn't need to call him back. Nick Sr. just left here. My ice maker was leaking all over the place. I called a few other people and one person at Sears told me I might need a harness, new board for the refrigerator and/or new fan. Nick came over and said right away it is probably the fan is frozen up from all of the ice here and all he probably needs to do is get the ice out and I won't need any parts. Sears wanted $140-240 for labor, plus the parts. Nick Jr. charged me only $140 for coming out and taking my entire freezer all apart, pulling out the food and the fan, getting all the ice out. He told me to make sure the door to the freezer and refrigerator are completely closed from now on...AWESOME! I am so blessed that I saw good reviews on yelp and that I called them! Nick Jr and this company was fantastic. I had originally called another company at the end of June and was told the dampner was bad on my side by side fridge. After almost a month, having to call the other company back out here 3 times, I still had a side by side fridge not working, freezing my dairy products and the water in the door and ice completely quit working so I called Nutterman's. Nick Jr knew within 10 minutes what was going on. The dampner the other company installed, that took them over a week to get, was broken!! Nick Jr was able to locate a new dampner for me, drove over and got it, installed it and unfortunately since it was screwed up before, he told me to turn it off for 48 hours for thawing to see if that would get the ice and water to work again. I turned it on after 48 hours and now have water in the door, ice working again and the temperature in the fridge holding perfect. He was professional, and actually showed me where the dampner the other company installed was broken and why it was freezing everything. After dealing with this issue for almost a month, it is wonderful to have it working so well. I wish I would have called them first but now I know and had him put their magnet on my fridge. These guys are awesome!!!!! We've called them twice (once for our dryer and once for our refrigerator) and each time they were courteous, polite, and left the area extremely clean. They were on time and very reasonable priced; they actually quoted me a price and stuck to it! No hidden charges! The second time we called them was for our refrigerator. They were able to fit me in THAT DAY (we were leaving for vacation the next day and they said they could get me in because I was so worried about leaving it)! They thought they had it fixed but our problem happened again at around 6:30 PM. We called them back and they came out THAT NIGHT for no extra charge!! Charged $200 to replace dryer heating coils...and then the dryer buttons were stuck (the wires were left in front of the inner button and kept it pressed down) so my husband had to take the front panel off again and fix it so we could actually dry things. :( read more

Nutterman's was great! I called and was offered same-day service but opted for a next-day appointment and was given my choice of times. The service tech gave us a 30-minute call ahead and had our dryer repaired in no time. He took the time to explain what had happened (LG dryer with bad temperature fuse) and suggested what kind of DIY maintenance we could perform to keep the dryer working its best. A copy of our receipt was emailed to me before he left the house. Hopefully we won't need appliance repair again any time soon, but I'll call them first if we do! read more

I just had a fantastic experience with this business. My over the range microwave quit working today so I checked yelp reviews first and then called Nutterman's after reading all the great reviews. I spoke to Nick Jr who was very friendly and knowledgable. I asked if I brought it in today how long would it take. After a phone diagnosis he was thinking it was a switch that needed replacement. Well, I dropped it off and an hour after my phone call he had it working (within 20 minutes)!! They had the parts on hand and it saved me a ton of money. Called Nuttermans last week, my dishwasher was not getting my dishes clean. Nick came on tuesday (2/16/16) He sat a measuring cup in the top rack started my dishwasher, a couple of minutes later opened the door and told me there was nothing wrong and that I needed to use a different brand of detergent. I ran another load of dishes on Friday (2/19) with the recommended detergent, no difference... My husband researched how to repair my KitchenAid dishwasher online, he took it apart and found that the disposer blade had broken off and the microfine screen was completely clogged, a $20 part and it's working great! Very disappointed Nick didn't try a little harder to get to the root of the problem. I sent him text to the # on his card today, got no reply. My dryer was making a strange noise so I call a repairan from another company, needless to say the other service man wouldn't come out if I couldn't be positive that the dryer would make the noise while he was here, so I called Nuttermans and spoke with Nick Jr. He asked questions about what my dryer was doing and set up a service call for the next afternoon. Today I received a call from James, the technician scheduled to come out and check out my dryer, he was running early and wanted to know if I was avaiable now so of course I said yes! James showed up and asked myself and my husband about the noise and began to take apart the dryer and look for the source of the noise. It didn't take James more than a couple of minutes to find the source of the problem...lint build up! I was not surprised at what he found and considering that I had my house burn down several years ago due to a dryer I was VERY happy that James came out even though I could not be sure that the dryer would make the noise when James arrived. The other service man wouldn't come just to check it out even though I was willing to pay the service call! Thanks to James at Nuttermans for his excellent service! Now I'm not worried that lint build up could cause a fire! I paid a bit more to Nuttermans for the service call than the other company was going to charge, but since they didn't even want to come out I can't be sure that their bill would have been any cheeper.
