These folks absolutely know appliances! They know the pros and cons of every manufacturer and every model. We now get everything there and they've never steered us wrong. In one case, I wanted an induction cooktop with a built-in fan. Hours of internet searches, and speaking with supposed "experts" at other appliance stores, convinced me that what I wanted simply did not exist. I visited Alexander & Rays and they knew immediately how to get exactly what I was looking for--which was a little known luxury brand that almost nobody carries. **Update** They ended up charging me 70$ for their team to deliver it to us. He said its usually 140$ and hed do it for 70$. Not a perfect fix, but i understand miscommunications happen and am fine with the 70$. I am happy they called me back with a motive to DO something about the issue. If youre doing business here--look for Mark or Chuck. Theyre very helpful, smart, make sense, and aren't rude. Thank you for the remedy. Verified the difference between billing and shipping addresses and yet the dryer was sent to them and they're expecting us to come 2 hours up and rent a truck. Our first trip there we did just that and picked up a fridge and the washer, then the ordered dryer to the house was the agreement. They originally told me 4-5 days. It's been 9 days so I called for an update. The lady was SO RUDE! She kept interrupting me when I was giving the information-- I had to explain my whole story over and over and she just kept saying "I'm not familiar with this exchange" I'm like yeah I know--I've been trying to explain it to you over and over, and what the issue is and how to fix it. She told me that I needed to listen. She then said that her boss is on vacation and won't be back--that she'll do a follow up... the house is 2 hrs away and I live in Nevada. I already extended my trip expecting the dryer around the date agreed. Now she's telling me she'll follow up when he's back. I'd have to wait and buy another flight to Kansas just to pick this up. Alas I requested a refund and she said "fine I'll just give you a fucking refund on the dryer then!" And we hung up. Super thick thinking and zero problem solving skills that one. read more

ordered a dishwasher w a custom cabinet panel front. it took me some time to find a company to do the panels, have them painted etc. installed today. looks terrible. the panels don't line up w the cabinets, too high on the top and way too high on the bottom. There is a gap on both sides. I wish someone at Alexander and Rays had advised me on this. Wasted a ton of time and money - all could have been different if the store had advised me on the process. read more

I have done business with Mark Alexander for 18 years. Today Whirlpool, told me that my washer that is only three months, I would have to wait several weeks for the parts for the repair. Three hours later Mark delivered a new washer to my home. My wife is happy to do laundry at home. We have a new washer and Mark will fight this out with Whirlpool. We bought a top end stainless steel french door fridge from this place for about $1300 off retail price. They have a huge scratch and dent section that changes weekly, new stuff comes in every Tuesday morning. On about 85% of the items the "damage" is minimal. So these appliances are like new, for a huge discount. They also have a large showroom of new appliances and run specials all the time. We priced shopped them against Home Depot, Best Buy, Lowes and Nebraska Furniture and they were the cheapest. Plus they will give you a cash discount. Definitely check them out if you're looking for kitchen appliances or washer/dryer. They also have some tvs, grills and smokers. For the scratch and dent, go in and get an idea what you want then they'll take your name and number and call you when they get something similar in. That's how we got our deal because the best items go fast. The sales men are friendly, very knowledgeable, and not pushy. They have a good size showroom with many options. They'll price match anything if you find a deal/special some where else. And if you're after a specific item they don't have then they can always order it in. Their delivery rates are reasonable; we paid $75 for our fridge then they gave us a $25 mail in rebate, so $50 in the end. We will certainly be back when it comes time to upgrade our other appliances. read more

I just recently remodeled my kitchen and replaced all my appliances. I checked prices with all the big box stores, department stores, and appliance stores. The prices were close to the same as Alexander & Rays some higher and some lower. Where the big difference came in was on delivery, set up, extended warranty, customer service, follow through and on the knowledge of the appliances and helping me make a decision on what was right for my family. Then I bought all my appliances and they ordered them and stored them for over a month till my cabnets and counter tops were installed. On delivery day we found out that we had an issue with the refrigerator, and they took ownership of the issue and solved my problem without me having to ask for anything. All the staff was fabulous from the owner to the installers. I will never by another appliance from anyone else. read more

My wood floor was marked up when moving in the new range. First they denied that it happened even though I sent pictures. Since February I have been getting one excuse after another. I wanted to buy here because it was a locally owned business but I think I would have had better service from Lowe's. Very frustrating! read more

I had a problem with a leaky garbage disposal that was under warranty and they helped me get the replacement after some issues between Whirlpool and their contracted repair service. I have purchased other appliances from them as well and find that their prices are right in line with (or better than) larger stores. read more

I never purchased anything from them myself however, our builder used them for all our appliances. They are very pleasant and agreeable to talk to on the phone however, that is basically where customer service ends. The original facing on our stove was the wrong color and the builder ordered the correct one. After a year of living in the house we finally got the correct stove facing. Apparently they ordered the correct one but didn't know who they ordered it for until I called to inquire... When the new facing was installed a couple weeks later, I was unable to be home so my 21 year old son let the installers in. I had a nice surprise when I got home, the installers not only left hand prints and sticker goo all over the oven (which I could clean off myself, but come on) they also dented the corner on the new stainless steel facing and scratched the wood work on my cabinets! I called the next day to complain and ask for a replacement again. I was told it needed to be ordered and they would let me know when it arrived. That was over 5 months ago. I have called 3 times since and am always given a new excuse...really?! Apparently the "wait long enough and the customer will forget or go away" is in play at this business. Don't be fooled by their pleasant A+ phone/customer service skills because when it comes to what means the most, delivery and installation, they get an F for failure to deliver. read more

I was looking for a Speed Queen washer & dryer and this place was cheaper than NFM. Walked in & wrote a $1200 check - easy sale for them.They gave a minimal discount for cash. The only snag was the delivery - it was a nightmare. They knocked a hole in my laundry room wall & left withoutt telling me - I negotiated for a rebate of delivery charge to pay for damage - haven't received the check yet. I ended up having to fix both the w & d hoses before I could use them. Salesman - Rob - was really nice and called when w/d came in earlier than expected and helped with damage issue. The owners didn't seem to care. I recommend A&R if their price is lower, but don't buy anything that has to be delivered/ installed. read more

We looked high and low for a duel fuel range and have tried all the usual places. After standing around Nebraska Furniture Mart for an hour and getting no help we decided to try out Alexander and Ray's. My husband had seen their website and was impressed with their inventory.
