That is not true. We were going out of town to our son's wedding for a month and would have been happy for them to take it while we were gone and repair or replace. They did not offer that. And now, they say they have "turned it over to Scotsman," are delaying further. We bought it from them, it never worked, we want a replacement. They can deal with Scotsman, that is not our responsibility. They sold us a new unit that never worked.

Strange, right? When I removed the machine it was covered in a thick oily film. They had to put it in a plastic bag because they had "cleaned it with sewing machine oil to make it look pretty". Totally useless at that point. I was so angry I didn't dare write a review then. I tried to clean it off with Sparkle glass cleaner and a razor blade which took 2+ hours. THEN I did some online research. They had used so much oil that it had started to lift what is called the clearcoat.

The 30ish year-old guy in the place told me Dyson's are not repairable, so I needed to buy a new vacuum. He suggested I buy one of the high dollars Riccar that he sales. Thinking the guy was BSing me, and me being somewhat electronically educated, I brought the vacuum home and took it apart. I discovered the problem was the cord was broken where it entered the side of the vacuum. I cut off about 8" of the cord, reconnected everything, put the vacuum back together, and it works as good as new now. I do not recommend this place!

However, I have had to perform repairs on my washer, dryer and refrigerator a few times and have purchased numerous parts from them. Here's what's great about Troby's: They not only sell parts at competitive prices, they freely offer advice, suggestions and helpful hints for successfully completing repair jobs myself. Unlike the big-box stores, Troby's not only services what they sell, they also sell repair and maintenance parts for DIY'ers like me. Try finding a new defrost thermostat for your refrigerator at Lowes or Home Depot. They freely admit that they don't provide repair and maintenance parts for the appliances they sell. Troby's is a home town, family owned business right here in Harrisonville. Although I've not yet had to replace a washer, dryer, refrigerator or freezer, when the time for that comes, Troby's will be the first place I go. Even if their prices are slightly higher (and I don't know that they are, I haven't compared), the added value of friendly, helpful neighbors who will stand behind their products is worth any extra up-front extra cost (if there is any).
