Just like the most recent comment, I have downloaded this app just to let others know how bad this place is. I was in a rush so I had to come here. They are located in a very convenient location at the intersection of nuuanu, in the back of Walgreen-thus why I would even give one star for this place. However, 1. The parking is bad, only has two stalls. There are some in the back but a hassle to get out. 2. The place smells like urine because bums hang around here. 3. The owner uses all the machines to do her commercial washing for other companies, leaving none for the customers 4. The owner(Korean lady) has a sign that says don't leave laundry in the dryer unattended but she did not state that she will throw all your clothes on the table if you don't pick it up right away. I was next door in Walgreens and come to find out 20mins later, my clothes were spread on the table basically for the public to take. To add to the punishment, she did yell at me while I was on my way out. In summary, I would highly recommend the laundromat in kapalama shopping even though I have to travel the extra distance, they have basically double the amount of machines, all new and cleaned bi-daily, and quite empty. read more

I have been coming here lately for alterations. The service here is excellent! So far I have brought one bridesmaid's dress and four pairs of pants. Ms. Kim does quality work. When I look at the hem it's perfect, as if I bought the item like that! The material it was made out of would have been really difficult for me to do on my own and probably take me hours and days to do. All of them were a chiffon type material, very flimsy to work with. I gave her about 2 items, and then about 4 more items and she did them in just over a week each time, which is faster than I had ever expected. Been coming here for a while now since it's the closest laundromat. The cost is decent for the quality of the machines so it busy through out the day. I used to love doing my laundry here till recently when they started using every machine they can to wash commercial airline's/hotel linens. I'm fine waiting for other people to do their laundry but I think the laundromat workers should leave at least a couple washers and dryers empty just incase a customer comes in:( read more

I have been coming to Nu'uanu Laundry for the past ten (10) years and never been unhappy. The owners are hard working people who want to do the best they can to help you get your laundry clean. I use their wash and fold program whereby I bring them my soiled clothes and they wash and fold them and I pick them up the following day. Everything is always done perfectly. I have used the wash and fold option at other laundries in the mainland and the Nu'uanu is the best. Whenever I go to drop off or pick up my laundry I am greeted with a smile and polite workers. They have never lost any of my clothes and they have and continue to offer exceptional laundry service. I would recommend Nu'uanu laundry to anyone without reservation. Tom. B. read more

Mrs.Kim found my white Dickies shorts in the wash. She took it put it in the washer again added bleach & cleaned it again. I just realized I didn't have my shorts for a music gig in Waikiki & realized that I left it in the wash Wednesday night. Now it's Friday I go to the Nuuanu laundry & ask if they found a white Dickies shorts they said yes & I went to play my gig with no delay. Thank you Mrs.Kim & Nuuanu Laundry !!! read more

Living in Hawaii theres a few important conviences in our home that we consider vital, and one of those is a washer and dryer. Unfortunately for our household ours was on the blink...kapoot...inop...you get the point. Finding a coin op laundromat was no easy task, but thanks to my trusty Yelp I was given a fairly good selection of places. We settled on Nuuanu Laundromat mostly because it was conveniently close for us. The ratings weren't all that great but we were willing to give them a try. It's location coupled with the very limited parking in the back, and it's literally open 24hrs walk up self service somewhat worn down looking washer and dryer setup, would cause most interested customers to look elsewhere. But, "Never judge a book by its cover"! The washer and dryers looked beat up but they worked incredibly fast, the attendant was very polite, cleaned and wiped down machines... that included cleaning out barely full lint trays from the dryers, which to me is a sign of good maintenance. Our time there was brief, but we're relieved to know open 24 hours Nuuanu Laundromat is our go to place. read more

I have been a customer of Nuuanu Laundry for over two decades. I have nothing but compliments for their services. Instead of doing my own wash, I have elected to use their wash services; these includes washing, using fabric softeners, and folding the wash in such a way that ironing can be skipped. I have always been quite pleased by their work, including dry cleaning, fitting and alterations. There was even one occasion that Mrs. Kim found a tailor for my sport coat, took and delivered my jacket for me, after measuring the jacket. The kindness of the Kim family and their fellow workers can not be stressed. Which surprises me that others have seem to incline their caustic reactions. One wonders if the negative comments are due to the the customers own frustrations of themselves, than the actions of the Kims and employees. Nuuanu Laundry is also a honest place to leave one's clothing: I have been given back the money that I have forgotten in my pockets. I wholly recommend the Laundry as an excellent place to use, and a wholly honest service to have confidence in. read more

Literally downloaded this app to give this place a bad review! I usually don't have negative things to say but this place is literally the worst! First off there are 2 parking spots to use and the first time I came to do my wash the worker said I could park in the back. Today I went to do my wash and again and again both parking mania taken. When I went to park in the back. Unloading my daughters and clothes & This old woman comes out yelllllling at me asking me "you can read sign? You stupid? No parking here.!" I replied I'm here to do laundry it says "reserved NLS(nuuanu laundry service)" she says "I no care read sign!" Come to find out she was the owner! So I move my car. And carry on with my laundry. But when I open a dryer to use I see 5 HUGE roaches climbing into the vents UGH NEEDLESS TO SAY I TOOK MY CLOTHES AND LEFT! Three attempts to use this place because of its location to my home. After ruins by a comforter, still charging me, taking it back again to clean what their washers left on, they wanted to charge me again. I stopped yesterday to to give them another shot since the owner said she would credit my next visit. I was told it would cost me more because of the issues they had with my last visit. #done read more

First bad review, but it needs to be noted, even with the bbb!! If I could give them no stars I would!! It is by far the WoRsT business I have ever seen in Hawaii!! An ultimately EpIc FaIL place of business!! I've given this place of business my 3 strikes you're out & I'm never doing business with you ever again ordeal!! As to my review with this place let's start off with the machines...machines are not at all maintained!! Machines are dirty doesn't dry your clothes even if you put the machines on high, still dries at a low to medium function all the while spending more than $3 to dry a load!! Secondly...areas are not kept clean, floors are filthy!! Owner doesn't care, all she cares about is money!! She walks around the place collecting the money from the machines not picking up any of the rubbish on the floor, then goes into her little space & waits....LaZy, leaving it to her employees to clean up after her & the business, all the while she yells at her employees to hurry up on something else she wants done, instead of keeping the place clean!! Last is customer service & she is VeRy demeaning to her employees!! This woman is unrealistic & unsustainable towards her employees!! She makes false accusations towards them, when in reality it was her fault, saw this happen to her employees a few times in one day!! Then if you are not paying for services of drop off laundry she looks down at you & says snappy things to you the costumer!! She then turns arounds to other customers & puts on her little facade, smiley face (wth, you just said some unpleasant things to a customer that didn't do anything to you, now you want to smile & act as if I didn't see what you just did?!) Evil!! I'd like to know how you stay in business!! Never recommending this place to anyone, not even a stranger on the street!!
