Ethan provided the best customer service. I went in to apply for a loan to get s new vehicle and was looking for the best interest rate I could get. I ended up getting a really good interest rate. Ethan called the dealership, where I saw the vehicle that I wanted. Set everything up so that the only time I will be entering the dealership is to pick up my new vehicle. The most seamless experience with purchasing a vehicle. I actually have an account with another credit union but was able to get a better interest rate with Nuvision. My credit union merged with this credit union. The credit union itself I would rate it a 1 STAR. But what makes it a 5 Star is the impeccable CUSTOMER SERVICE from the manager Fransica Ortiz to MY FAVORITE teller JACOB. I don't care what day it is he is always ready to go. My car loan got moved here from SafeAmerica which already felt like a 1990s experience. Nuvision is significantly worse. Their tech platform is the worst I've ever seen and I've seen a lot. They also don't answer emails and instead just send letters. Can't even view my statement via a laptop. read more

8/ 8/ 25, I went to Nuvision to open a promotional CD account. I was unable to open the CD because no "banker" was available. I was required to make an appointment. I didn't bother to return. I called the bank manager to cancel my scheduled appointment, but she did not answer. I recently opened an account at another bank. My reception there was immediate. So I'm spoiled. I didn't feel that Nuvision was interested in my banking requests. I intend to close my account. read more

I closed my NuVision account because my account was hacked by someone who put themselves as my partner or significant other on my account without my permission. I tried multiple times to have him removed and NuVision would not remove him. The San Pablo branch used to be the home for Berkeley Federal Credit Union; I was a customer for years and the service was excellent. I was able to form lasting friendships with the people who worked there and with the other patrons. NuVision does not care about people. The hold times when you try to call them are intolerable. They are too big to care and they keep acquiring other credit unions, such as Spectrum. I switched to 1st United Credit Union; they pick up the phone when you call and they are responsive to customer needs. When I go there, it feels like I'm back at Berkeley Federal Credit Union; it feels like home. I will miss 3 special people at NuVision and because I live near-by, I will use the ATM there and I'll pop in and keep trying to get them to apply for jobs at 1st United: a credit union that cares about people, service and community. UPDATE 5/29/2025 I got a canned "cut and paste" response from NuVision. This was my reply: "NuVision didn't care enough about me as a customer to remove the guy from my account. I tried multiple times, both at my branch and online. He fraudulently said he was my "partner." He was not; he hacked every account I have, my WiFi, your credit union, my Social Security account, my cell phone, internet, security cameras: EVERYTHING. You did not protect my interests; your company refused to take him off my account. End of story. But yes, your phone hold times are intolerable. I've waited 45 minutes and more. I've asked for a call back, only to be called the next day when I was driving or at a doctor's appointment. That is unacceptable. Also, one of the women at the San Pablo branch (at Ashby) is one of the rudest, most unprofessional people I have met in my 55 years in business. She often ignored me, or rolled her eyes when I was trying to speak with her about the lack of sufficient handicapped parking spaces at what was my former branch. There are only 2 disabled spots in the garage; they are often taken by people who have ignored the sign "Handicapped Only." I know she cannot police the garage; however, I gave her information about how to reach the City of Berkeley to get designated handicapped parking on San Pablo Avenue. She received anything I said in a hostile manner, even the first time I tried to address the issue with her. The customers at that branch range in age, but most of us are over 50 years old and many of us are handicapped. She does not care or apparently doesn't concern herself with the needs of others. I have never had this kind of interaction with someone ever. I will continue to use the ATM; I will continue to stop in and say "hello" to the 2 or 3 people who work there who do care about people and who have always been professional and friendly to me. I will never use NuVision for any banking needs. I will continue to urge others to open their account at 1st United Credit Union. NuVision has gotten "too big to care" and it shows. I tried multiple times to advise both the staff at my former branch and your corporate office that my account at NuVision was hacked. NO ONE WOULD TAKE THE MAN OFF MY ACCOUNT. In fact, he was referred to as my "partner" or my "husband." He hacked my account. He has stolen my identity on Social Security, NuVision, he shut off my security cameras, he has committed credit card fraud and he has continued to hack my accounts. He shut off my internet, my WiFi, and hacked my email account and cell phone account. I brought in proof to the branch and STILL you wouldn't remove him. I have filed an Elder Abuse case against him but the damage is done. He has sold my former credit/debit account number on the dark web. I advised your corporate office days ago and still today I got two "transactions denied" emails. I'm done explaining how horrible this experience has been. I'm 75 years old. He uses multiple aliases and at least 2 Social Security numbers and your company allowed him to persist harming me. Please do not reply. Please know that when you "cut and paste" your responses to people with legitimate concerns rather than answering them individually you are part of the problem not part of the solution. I am done trying to advise you that I no longer want to get "Fraudulent Activity" alerts sent to my OLD hacked email. I am done trying to convince NuVision of anything. Leave me alone; do not answer. No matter what time I call customer service, the wait on the phone is two hours or more. When prompted to leave a message, I received no return phone call. I had a time sensitive and urgent matter and had to go to the branch, which is 12 miles from my home. This is scary, because if there is a fraudulent or online access problem, and you are OT or unable got get to the few branches they have, you are up sh*#t creek. I cannot recommend them. It is always stressful when one can not make contact with an institution that is the custodian of your money. read more

I was disappointed when the Cooperative Center Federal Credit Union "merged" with the Nuvision Credit Union. The so called "merger" feels more like a buyout, and Nuvision Credit Union seems to operate more like a big bank than a local credit union. I agree with the other reviewer who wrote that the telephone wait times for customer service are very long. I have always had to wait at least 40 minutes before a customer service representative was able to take my call. The only reason I have time to write this review, is that I am again, waiting on an extended hold to speak to someone. When Nuvision bought out the Cooperative Center Federal Credit Union they signed me up, without my permission, to receive promotions for life insurance. Although I have tried multiple times to be opted out, they have never been able to figure out how to opt me out. When I asked in person at the branch, they said they were unable to complete the opt out at the branch. I had to call the customer service number. Today I went to my post office box and received yet another promotion for life insurance. This is not only a waste of paper, but it makes Nuvision come across as being more interested in extracting money from members rather than providing useful services. The call I am on now will be my third attempt to opt out of the life insurance promotions, in addition to the attempt I made in person at the Berkeley Branch. I've now been waiting on the phone over an hour! If the length of hold time for customer service is important to you, you may want to consider another bank or credit union. Update: I finally got to speak to a representative who confirmed that I had been opted out of receiving promotions and couldn't explain why I continue to receive them. So, she has to put in a request to have it researched. Total time waiting on the phone and talking to the representative was one hour and 43 minutes! read more
