Firstly my spouse and I have been shopping around for an auto loan and applied at multiple places to see who would give us the best offer. We have been accepted by two other credit unions for the same offer we requested with Denali. Denali requires a full year of employment for all applicants vs the 6 months most other credit unions require, the fact that my co-applicant has been in one position with the same company for 3 years was not enough employment history to show them we have had consistently steady income at all times. A medical debt of less than $300 that we have documented payment plans with would prevent us from getting a loan with them until it was 100% satisfied whereas with the two credit unions that accepted our offer I simply supplied them with payment plan terms and the account balance since what is currently on equifax is incorrect. The customer service rep's tone wasn't very pleasant and I was a little shocked to be talked to like I shouldn't be expecting to be able to get a loan because as someone who works in finance and recently spoke with representatives at other institutions I know that those terms aren't the norm. My spouse and I aren't extremely well off but we can absolutely afford a car payment, which is why other institutions did give us preapprovals for the amount we requested. Overall they aren't interested in making money, looking into details and if the person I spoke to is a good representation of their company they're not pleasant to talk to. Alaska USA and Credit Union 1 are both much easier to work with and the ladies in their loan departments are very pleasant.

When I bank at the Golden Valley branch, I am treated with respect and good humor (as all customers should be). This branch? I'm refused services that I'm legally entitled to obtain, held up before cashing even a small check to see if it is good as though I might be a forger, and subjected to whatever whim the manager du jour might construct. This inexcusable behavior has gone on for years.

I happen to know that Northrim accepted an entire housing development back from a big builder, When my septic system failed due to ground conditions after paying over $100,000 in interest over the coarse of the loan Northrim refused me, in fact they threatened to sue me if I couldn't keep making the payments. Blatantly lied to by manager about them trying to contact my secondary on the account, still confused how they could call say they called someone when they never entered a number for her on my account. The kid working in back had the audacity to interrogate me about why I was adding a secondary and why don't I have credit cards, as I'm frantic and upset about my account getting closed and my bills bouncing and my paycheck getting direct deposited to nowhere. They were way more concerned with pressuring me to open a new account than fixing their mistakes. Is that the game? Wells Fargo screws up, never apologizes, puts all the blame on me for not being a mind reader, then just shuffles their mistake into a new account? Buying an item for $18,000 required me to transfer the money daily for nine days!!! As an Alaskan, I liked the name before. When I mentioned that I didn't like the new name, it was like they said, "Call somebody who cares."

They equalled a fairly big amount so we immediately called the bank, stopped our card and got a new card. They said because the account was linked with my phone number and email they could not consider it fraud and I would be out the 1800 dollars. When I said wow they could have drained my account dry and you guys wouldn't do anything I was told take it up with the police. By the way a police report was filed and they said go to the bank. I will find a new bank as I don't feel my money is secure.
