AVOID this place unless you want to get HUSTLED. This spa harasses you into purchasing a "deep tissue" massage, stating that their combo massage focuses mainly on feet. I went for a couples massage with my fiancé. Even after paying extra for the deep tissue massage for both of us, it was easily the worst massage of my life. They had us pay prior to the massage, which should've been my first red flag. They applied no pressure and spent 30 minutes massaging my feet anyway! I've honestly had more relaxing massages when getting a pedicure. After the massage, they hurry you to enjoy their tiny cup of tap water (Las Vegas water tastes noticeably terrible), and then harass you for a tip, showing you a chart with a happy face emoji suggesting $15 for happy or $20 for very pleased. I tipped her $12, and then they pressed for more, demanding a tip per person. We threw another $20 at the table as we just wanted to get out of there. I wish I would've said No instead. Honestly HORRIBLE!!! Tips are for gratitude and shouldn't be made mandatory. Worst massage of my life!!!! EDITED TO ADD: if I wasn't clear, we paid for the most expensive "deep tissue" massage on the menu, and what we got was the worst massage ever. Definitely not deep tissue. Soooo, I had a good but sorta weird experience here. Stayed at the El Cortez and saw the ad in the elevator for a $79 massage. Sounded good so I just went upstairs and asked if they had time for a walk-in. They did and so I was shown to a room and got undressed and under the sheet like you're supposed to and the girl comes back and and starts walking on my back for a couple of minutes, then she leaves for what seemed like 7 to 10 minutes and I'm wondering what happened. Then a new girl pops in and says hi and starts walking on my back. Don't get me wrong, she's good but now I'm wondering if they're starting the clock over again or did they just burn 10 minutes and now I only have 50 minutes left? Anyway, so this girl is great, small but strong. But at some point I'm half exposed and I notice the door isn't closed because I can hear other customers talking and walking around and my massuse is talking to another massuse in Mandarin. I lifted up my head to check and yup, door is still open. But the CBD oil really relaxed me and her foot massage was epic. All and all a really good experience but like I said, kinda weird. Did not enjoy my experience at all. Spent $180 for a couple's massage with my wife and the massage therapist had to keep leaving the room to answer phones, open doors and who knows what else. If that wasn't bad enough, they had the nerve to lock us in until we would give them a tip! I have no problem with tipping but at least provide the service I am paying for! How can anyone enjoy a massage if it is continuously interrupted, I kept asking for more pressure and they never gave it nor did they ever asked me if I wanted more. Very friendly but right away very pressured to buy/spend more for other services. There was a $2 service charge for using card versus cash. Yelp check in offers free sugar scrub. We did a couples massage however during massage we were asked if we could right a review on app as owner needed it for sugar scrub. Umm sure Massage was professional and enjoyable. When done, before getting off table, was asked again to write review as needed. When we walked into lobby, asked to sit and write a review and then take a pic of our review so could send to owner. We did this, write a nice quick review, as felt if didn't, the workers would have something negative happen (unsure what). We didn't have cash so had a plan to get cash from downstairs and come back to tip to avoid another 2 dollar charge- We were asked/reminded to tip and then told us 2nd time card ran, no charge. Sorry to have to deliver a less than stellar review. The ladies were very nice but unfortunately the massages was just horrible. We called ahead to see if they could accommodate a couples massage. We were happy they were able to take us on the same day. Older building but nothing crazy out of place. Prices and tip suggested at the front desk. The massage...It was either minimal pressure or elbows digging in. No real happy medium. They would do one body part one way and something different on the other side. They kept trying to push the add-ons after we declined early. They tried to apply the "special oil" after we said no. It was additional and we just didn't want it. Mind you they would also guilt trip you into tipping them, as well as upselling you during your massage session. Where to start. Well, I went in for a massage with a group of girl cousins for a bachelorette spa day and let me just say that this place was a joke. For starters we walked in and they were arguing in their language which was very unprofessional to do so at a spa were you would like to just relax that was definitely not the environment. Secondly, we were a group of girls and there was a male masseuse which is fine if they had at least taken our decision into consideration and asked how would we feel about him massaging us instead we were in a room naked and he just walked in that is not OK they should respect our choice of masseuse. Thirdly, when we walked out they required a $15 minimum tip which is fine other places charge more for tip however the massage was NOT at all great! Therefore, they did not deserve that much of a tip. When I gave her $10 she argued with me that she needs $15. Lol like what?? Wow, where to begin? I could not get into my regular massage place so I booked this place because I live across the street, well let me tell you; if you want to be slathered with baby oil and feel like you are getting rubbed down by your awkward roommate on the side of the road on the way to camp, this is your spot! The waiting room was nice, but that's where It stops. The "masseuse" points to a sheet that I thought was a wash cloth. "Put it on, face up". Ok. Puts my feet in scolding hot water. She had to get two pails of cold Water to get it down to acceptable temperature. She then just rubbed my legs and arms. I tried to pretend this was the signature 3rd world experience. There were intervals or "breaks", about 3-5 minutes while she prepped for the next experience. She most likely went to the bathroom or had a snack, possibly both. For the back, it was a squirt of sumptuous baby oil (yeah I recognize the smell and consistency). Spread, rub, rub. Then some cupping à la karate kid style. I literally kept wondering when the hour was up. I tried to justify the unorthodox techniques which I dubbed the "El Cortez Special". The hot stones were more of a warning to tip rather than a relaxation enhancement. Super hot and banging together while rubbing them sloppily across my body, she drops a pile on the table next to my head, which does not conjure moments of serenity. Finally, once I survive the gauntlet and after a couple of uncomfortable pulls and twists of my arms and legs I'm free to go. After pre-paying $60 for a spa treatment that made me feel like a drum in a conga line, I debated whether I should tip. I know times are hard and everyone has a bad day, so I get my clothes on and go to the front desk where my Sherpa to bliss has a Dixie cup of premium tap water waiting for me. I give her a $20 bill and ask for change. I had to ask twice. She then points to her little sign and says, "Oh he he, one hour usual minimum $15 tip", I firmly ask for two tens back as she begrudgingly hands them to me as if I'm speaking in Chinese. Save your money people. You are better off pelting yourself at home with a pillowcase full of quarters than spending it here! Ugh! read more

Do not waste your time or money on this spa! I was excited to treat myself while on vacation...and this was far from that. I booked a 60 minute full body hot stone massage. When I arrived at the spa I was asked to pay up front, and now I know why. I got into the (tiny with nowhere to set my clothes) room at 11:23, and left the spa at 12:12. I didn't even get the hour I paid for. My masseuse left the room 4 times during my massage. (Twice to help customers at the front desk, and twice to grab towels and stones). Very unorganized and not relaxing at all. I have never left a massage in so much pain, and it has just gotten worse through out the day. I spoke with an El Cortez manager about my terrible experience, and they handed me a "guest survey" card to fill out. Such a disappointing experience that ruined a day of my trip. read more

When I arrived, they were very prompt and got my payment done and got me in the room. The massage therapist, Julia paid attention to the fact that I'm hard of hearing and made sure I could hear her. I have a lot of pain issues from injuries and she really took care of them. I could tell I was going to go over the original 1 hour massage and she asked if I would like more time. I added 30 minutes to make it work. Overall it was very helpful and relaxing. Also, the prices are reasonable. I did get the massage with hot stones that I really think help. read more

I am astounded that they straight up ask you for a bigger tip when they are done with your spa service. Like-who does that? Is this place run by the mafia? I was just about forced to leave more money. If your services were up to standard-and you had done a better job-you would have been tipped accordingly. You're lucky you got one at all!! Most horrible spa services I have ever been to. The place reeks of desperation. They try to force upsells on you (in a tricky way-if you don't ask the price they won't tell you it's extra) then demand bigger tips after services. I'm so blown away-I just don't know what else to say other than I'll never be stepping foot in there ever again. I was with a group of friends and I'm speaking for all of them. You're a joke. Even though it was her day off, the person taking my call said she would see if Molly would be able to come in. To my delight, she said that Molly could be there in 45 minutes! i booked a 60 minute deep tissue massage before i had to be somewhere. they said they were running behind, and i told them what time i had to leave by. they were running 30 min behind so i said i can do a 30 minute massage instead. since i already paid for the 60 minute massage (you pay before the treatment) instead of refunding me she said i could get a 4-hand massage with 2 therapists. this sounded amazing. i've had 4-hand massages before with thai and indonesian therapists and it felt insanely good. so i said yes. i go to the room and undress, and 2 women came in. i told them my areas of priority were my feet and upper back and shoulders. i figured since there were 2 of them they'd either synchronize and each take one side a time (1 leg / foot each or one side of my back at a time) but one woman was at the foot of the table and the other was doing my upper body. the woman by my feet lightly rubbed one single part of my calf for about 20 minutes and NEVER TOUCHED MY FEET. this random part of my calf was an area i dont even care about ever being touched lol. i repeated to please focus on my feet, and eventually in the last 3 minutes she said "feet?" and rubbed ONE foot lightly with latex gloves and oil. it was so light it tickled. i got 3 minutes of light touching on one foot and it was literally all i wanted (aside from shoulders) after walking 7 miles a day and carrying bags/traveling all week. the other woman was on my upper back and just rubbing my back with latex gloves and oil not really doing much either. they were both talking the entire time and it was not relaxing. i was so bored i ended up talking with them too but felt no release or pressure during the entire massage and it felt so annoying to have one inch of my calf rubbed with a finger for 20 minutes? i was surprised to see so many good reviews because i had the impression this was mostly a place rich gamblers came to pay to be touched by women for an hour that didn't care about actual massage skills or pressure. they did not seem like trained massage therapists at all nor did they seem to try to give me any relief. it was weird but i paid a 25% tip (i always tip massage therapists $20-30 minimum and feel weird not doing so as it's physical labor) but definitely felt cheated. this is my second bad massage in vegas. the first time the woman (different place) used VASELINE and was on the phone the whole time with one hand and half-massaging me with the other hand? definitely double dipping in that vaseline pot but i didnt leave cuz i didnt want to be rude even though i was grossed out lol. if anyone knows of any REAL massage places please let me know as I am here every month for a gig. read more

We requested their 60-minute couples hot stone full body special when we booked. When we arrived the lady said the couple's hot stone full body massage was only a "light touch, very soft massage" and then said there was an up-charge for a "deeper" massage with oils (which we paid for). I literally caught the person lightly massaging my leg with one hand, and scrolling on her phone with the other. It gets better, both massage therapists left TWICE which was deducted from the 60-minute 'massage'. My husband and I left there with our hair and bodies full of oil and feeling ripped off. We did leave a $20.00 tip for both women and they just looked at us like more was expected. This was the worst massage experience and will never go back again. read more

I got a full body massage and my boyfriend got the combo foot + body. They claimed the combo massage was half focused on the foot and half on the body. My bf said she only massaged his feet for less than 10 minutes. We also didn't like that they spent a lot of the massage rubbing our bodies over dried towels. Very weird. The towels are rough and scrape your skin. My bf was left with a rash on his neck. They then massaged us with their actual hands but we were confused as to why they didn't do that the entire time. In addition, the rooms aren't walled from ceiling to floor so you can hear everything going on in the other rooms. They should at least increase the volume of the music. If the sound of the clock ticking in the room is louder than the music, there's a problem. read more

I asked for a 60 minute massage but received 50 minutes only. If you get a massage there, make sure they do not cheat. They think you do not notice. Another time I went there, I gave them a $8 tip for a $40 massage, which is 20% of the charge. Well, they did not like it. They demanded $15 minimum, which is 37.5% of the charge. If you do not pay a 37.5% tip, they make you feel you are a bad customer. I felt disgusted with how they do business. $15 minimum is based on other pricier massages - they should not apply that to the lower priced massages.
