I was there a little before 10am for my appointment and no one was there so don't say you open at 10am when the spa was completed dark and doors were locked. And thank goodness I didn't because why in the hell would I tip someone who was talking to someone with their earbuds on during my massage and not focusing on the customer, how professional is that?!? Do not understand the great reviews. This place is a scam. We booked a couples massage and asked for a Swedish message. When we got there, she asked what type of massage we wanted. We specified Swedish, and she said give me your hand. She applied rubbed my hand and said is the pressure ok, since it was soft, I said that's what I wanted. Then she tried to tell us that it would be a deep tissue. We then looked at each other and said that's deep tissue?! It was literally the lightest rub ever. She pushed us to pay for a deep tissue and I told her adamantly we want a Swedish. No pressure needed and that's when she finally said ok. We had to pay in advanced which isn't preferable but ok. We asked to use the restroom but apparently the restroom is outside and required a code so she pushed us to our room. The massage was basically someone rubbing oil quickly on our backs. When we were done, we tipped (definitely more than they deserved) and ran out. Do NOT recommend and will NOT be returning. read more

I made a reservation and when I arrived, Sheri took great care to make sure that the treatment would be focused on my trouble areas and suggested some additional treatments which I agreed to. I live across the street, so I figured I'd try out the spa services at El Cortez. Positives: Very reasonable prices, especially for a hotel spa. Comparable to local Asian-style massage prices in Vegas. My massage was good and my masseur was very nice. Negatives: the individual massage rooms are only sepeated by cheap partitions that don't go all the way up to the ceilings, so you can clearly hear everything that's going on in the small spa--people entering and exiting the spa (a door bell and chime ring whenever this happens), any conversations the receptionist is having, what the clients and masseurs in neighboring rooms are talking about, even the masseur next door slapping the body of the client nearby. It makes it very awkward and hard to relax-despite receiving a good massage. . If that sort of thing doesn't bother you, then this place is a great find. If ambiance matters to you, maybe pay extra and go elsewhere. read more

Pro: Took me as a same day walk-in. Cons: Felt pressured to pay for and tip BEFORE my "spa" service began. Also, didn't feel I had a choice to decide my tip amount, was basically told by the therapist "$20, okay". I initially said $10 due to not knowing how well the service was gonna be and then amended to $15 after the host and the therapist said something to each other in their native language and the therapist pulled out the "suggested" tip amount list, with $15 being the lowest. They kept saying $20, to which I just acquiesed in order to get my session rolling. Also, there were no questions asked as to the type of massage I wanted, paperwork about my medical health or if I had problem areas to focus on, or liability disclaimers. I paid for an hour full-body massage and then face mask. (Felt pressured to add additional services - body scrub, essential oils, longer massage time - to which I repeatedly declined.) The massage felt mediocre - the therapist spent 30 mins on my back with the last few mins with hot stones, then the next 20 mins putting my face mask on and rubbing (not massaging!) my legs, feet, arms, and hands. She left the door open in between runs for towels, water, and the stones. She kept offering to add "30 more minutes" (which I repatedly declined), body scrub, and longer foot massage. The therapist also seemed to need acknowlegement that the massage "is good" and "relaxing". Overall, my experience was 50 minutes long. The online reviews about this Spa are mostly positive, which is why I came by. Perhaps today was not an ordinary day. read more

AVOID this place unless you want to get HUSTLED. This spa harasses you into purchasing a "deep tissue" massage, stating that their combo massage focuses mainly on feet. I went for a couples massage with my fiancé. Even after paying extra for the deep tissue massage for both of us, it was easily the worst massage of my life. They had us pay prior to the massage, which should've been my first red flag. They applied no pressure and spent 30 minutes massaging my feet anyway! I've honestly had more relaxing massages when getting a pedicure. After the massage, they hurry you to enjoy their tiny cup of tap water (Las Vegas water tastes noticeably terrible), and then harass you for a tip, showing you a chart with a happy face emoji suggesting $15 for happy or $20 for very pleased. I tipped her $12, and then they pressed for more, demanding a tip per person. We threw another $20 at the table as we just wanted to get out of there. I wish I would've said No instead. Honestly HORRIBLE!!! Tips are for gratitude and shouldn't be made mandatory. Worst massage of my life!!!! EDITED TO ADD: if I wasn't clear, we paid for the most expensive "deep tissue" massage on the menu, and what we got was the worst massage ever. Definitely not deep tissue. Soooo, I had a good but sorta weird experience here. Stayed at the El Cortez and saw the ad in the elevator for a $79 massage. Sounded good so I just went upstairs and asked if they had time for a walk-in. They did and so I was shown to a room and got undressed and under the sheet like you're supposed to and the girl comes back and and starts walking on my back for a couple of minutes, then she leaves for what seemed like 7 to 10 minutes and I'm wondering what happened. Then a new girl pops in and says hi and starts walking on my back. Don't get me wrong, she's good but now I'm wondering if they're starting the clock over again or did they just burn 10 minutes and now I only have 50 minutes left? Anyway, so this girl is great, small but strong. But at some point I'm half exposed and I notice the door isn't closed because I can hear other customers talking and walking around and my massuse is talking to another massuse in Mandarin. I lifted up my head to check and yup, door is still open. But the CBD oil really relaxed me and her foot massage was epic. All and all a really good experience but like I said, kinda weird.
