This spa is horrible. The man who massaged me hurt me very badly. While "massaging" my hands he pulled my fingers so hard my nail beds are still hurting like I flipped my nail on multiple fingers. I had to go back to my hotel and shower after because he didn't wipe off the oil and I was itchy all over. I tried to contact the business to address the issue and have been ignored. read more

Very great massage! The atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming. My wife and I both got a foot massage for 60 minutes and it was very good! Definitely recommended after spending a lot of time walking around town. The staff is very friendly and not pushy. They are sensitive to the right areas and know how to put you in a very relaxed state. So relaxed, that you may end up falling asleep! 2 stars because my massage therapist was great, but my girlfriend got the middle aged woman that aggressively upsells the add ons and also aggressively solicits extra tips after the massage. I get it, hustle the tourists out of a bit more $$ to make a better living... But the young girl was ringing me up $120 for 2 massages, and then we agreed on the extra $20 for deep tissue so $140.. the older woman comes and it ends up being $180?? I'd understand a $20 upcharge for a couples massage but $40? They are 100% skimming off the top and can get away with it because they are a separate entity from el cortez. That I let slide because it was sensible and understandable. The older woman however, was clearly prejudiced towards the younger asian girl. I have a tattoo with some koi fish and a yin and yang symbol, and the way she inappropriately asked the girl about it just because she was asian, which clearly made her uncomfortable, then sarcastically says: Oh your English is getting so good! You very good speak english! Thats just messed up. If my girlfriend wasn't so sensitive I would've teared the manager a new one for the way she treated us and her coworker. We won't be back after what shoulda been $150-160 with tip ended up being $220. They WILL take advantage of you if you let them. read more

This was one of my worst experiences ever. It started by coming in to make appt. I had a few people tell me they would be with me in a few minutes. After sitting in lobby for about 20 minutes finally was asked if anyone had helped me. I should have listened to my instinct. I booked the combo special which was body and feet for $59. When I arrived I was told that it would only be 10 minutes body and 50 minutes on feet. If I want full body it would have to be the $80 massage. I went ahead with the $80. The massage was not relaxing at all. The masseuse left me in the massage table once to attend to someone at the front desk. She left the door open as I am laying there half naked. She then comes back continues massage and then I hear another lady open door to talk to my masseuse. They are fully having conversation while im getting my massage. Then I hear my masseuse talking to someone else. maybe on phone or someone in next room. The rooms are paper thin. Everything about this place was very unprofessional!! I go to this Spa every time I'm in Downtown Las Vegas. I have had nothing but good experiences, and the prices are good. It is easy to book or if just want to walk in. I only gave 4 starts because my last experience didn't end so relaxing. My service was $100 and I tipped $20. As I handed the woman the money she looked at me and pointed at a sign that showed 3 faces, a sad face, a blah face and a happy face. She then said as she pointed at the happy face is this you? I said yes I did enjoy my massage. Then she looked down at the $20 I gave her and said oh well then maybe you tip more? I instantly became annoyed and normally would not have entertained her behavior but I ended up giving her an additional $5 and I walked out upset. A tip is NOT mandatory but as someone who worked in the service industry before understand people depend on tips, but I would have Never acted like that. Not sure if I will be back or not. Right off the back I'll say this place was great! After running around with my fiancée all day doing adult stuff we needed a treat. So with no reservation, ten minutes away we walked in. The Spa is on the second floor and as soon as you walk in you notice the ambiance of the place is calm. You feel less stress immediately! I would have rather paid some transient on the streets of Vegas to walk on my back slowly for 60 minutes then come back to this place. I read one of the other reviews and it was spot on. Too bad I read it after the "experience". The lady that was in charge of my comfort left the room 5 times for a total of 15 minutes. I paid for a 60 minute massage. At one point the guy rubbing my wife's feet paused and took a brief phone call. Sure it was important. Then when my feet were being tended to one of the other staff members came in and began having a conversation where my masseuse stopped rubbing again and enjoyed a little chit chat. There was zero relaxation here. The walls in the room don't go up to the ceiling so you can hear everything in the other rooms as well as the goddamn doorbell at the front going on and off, not to mention, all of the laughter up front. I am not a cheap bastard so of course I intend to tip, and as my wife and I roll our eyes walking out of here they basically demanded a tip. I hand them my card because we didn't have any cash at the time, and tell them $10 each. They both laugh. So I ask what is typical, they tell me 25-30%. That was a stupid question on my part. Like a sucker I give them 15 each. The actual massage part wasn't aweful, but the whole experience just blew. I left agitated instead of euphoric. To hell with it. read more

Called ahead to make sure masseuse was available and was told to come in 30 minutes. When I arrived I told them I wanted 90% on upper back as that is where I have pain and 10% on foot massage. I was told that I would have to pay their most expensive rate of $80 an hour to get this type of massage. I decided I would try out 30 minutes first and if I liked it could extend my time to 1 hour. The masseuse spent no time on my back used barely any pressure a majority of the Massage was done thru the towel. I would never come back to this place and would advise all to stay away. I purchased a couples massage through Groupon. We were both really satisfied with our massages. My therapist had good pressure. She was a bit hard for me and had to let her know to ease up which she did. Overall the place is clean, nice ambiance and great therapists. l've had several massages at.NV Spa and have never had a bad experience. It's hard to get a good massage if it's not more then an hour and so I usually get a 90 minute massage or a 2 hour massage. I've read so many reviews on here asking for tips and pressuring for upsells and I've been here several times and I've never been pressured for tipping or tipping extra. Would you go to a nail Spa for an hour & not tip for a service? Don't get the service if you're not willing tip. Upselling is part of the job in most companies and I wouldn't blame the employees for doing their job! They're just trying to do their job and make a living like all of us. I have loved all my experiences with Molly! She has the most adorable laugh and is so sweet. She's so tiny, but don't be fooled, the girls got amazing strength! Absolutely a horrible experience. Wanted to spoil my lady and get a couples massage. What a mistake. The goal of a massage is to relax. This place provides the opposite experience. Over the course of an hour, our masseuse left the room 5 times to deal with clients at the front desk. (No idea why there was no receptionist.) One of the guests complained for 5 minutes about how they were "overcharged" and felt "ripped off." The walls are thin and we could hear everything. Of course, when we left, we were overcharged too. My lady agreed to pay a $25.00 tip. They charged us $50 on our credit card. They asked us if we wanted to purchase any "essential oils" too and we declined. They ended up charging us for essential oils on our bill. What a ripoff. They even charged us an extra 30 minutes ($100) that we DID NOT AGREE to. If you take the time to read Googlereviews of this place, you will notice that overcharging happens a lot. What a complete and total scam. Bad massage, bad experience. I will NEVER go back. I called the El Cortez manager to complain and they did nothing. (Acted like they could care less) Please avoid this place unless you want to get ripped off. Please do yourself a favor, and trust the bad reviews for this place. I was uncomfortable the moment she started rubbing my feet. I've had many, many professional massages and have never had my feet rubbed like this. Not massaged, rubbed - so weird. I had to ask her to stop rubbing my shins because it hurt. My neck was rubbed "across" and not up-an-down, resulting in sore muscles the next day. Same on the back! No massage therapist rubs across the back, back and forth like she was washing clothes on the rocks. It was all I could do, to not ask her to stop so I could leave, I had high hopes of it getting better...ah, no. I could also hear someone's cell phone ringing several times throughout this ordeal. We were looking for a low price massage, near our hotel, with last minute appointments. I found NV and at first I was hesitant when I realized it was basically a foot reflexology massage which I can get for $20 at home. However we wanted to relax and decided to go with it. We paid $49 with the $10 Yelp check in discount. When we got in the room they had us undress, which is different from most reflexology places. It turned out that they did a full body massage with oil and hot stones. It was definitely more of a relaxation massage and was by no means therapeutic, but for being directly on Fremont street and we didn't have to travel across town it was worth it. read more
