If I could give this company negative star, I would. They were booked to do move in/out deep cleaning plus inside of cabinets yesterday between 8-10 in a vacant townhouse. Well they showed up late at 11:25. I came back today to check on their work. They missed cleaning an entire bathroom, inside of microwave and oven, inside of cabinets. Poor job in cleaning windows and mirrors ( leaving cleaning mark on them) . And that's not the worst part! They took a shark vacuum, stepping stool, paints, as well as many cleaning supplies that I had left in the garage. They tampered with my garage door which wouldn't open. We called NW Maids for a move-out cleaning at the last minute. We had originally planned to do it ourselves, but after a long difficult move out we just didn't have it in us to clean. We were excited that they were able to send someone out the next day! The maids showed up on time, even gave us a 15 minute notice for arrival like we asked. However, they showed up in a busted van with plastic taped over broken windows. We didn't even know who they were or if it was legitimate until they told us details only the company would know. We had specifically asked for a good vacuum since we had carpet cleaners coming out the next day who wouldn't do the carpet cleaning if the floors weren't vacuumed. Unfortunately, they didn't even appear to have vacuumed. Corners had crumbs/lint/stuff and there were zero vacuum lines. They did not sweep before they mopped, either. Tons of stuff on edges and in corners. It made a gross mess in areas mopping over crumbs (we have small kids, the floor is usually riddled with goldfish crumbs). They used a lot of water "mopping" and we had to grab some towels to soak it up as to not damage the flooring. When I walked through the house in socks after it was dry, the socks were black. It was definitely not clean. They didn't dust ceiling fans (we did not have vaulted or high ceilings). They dusted nothing. They didn't clean appliances (an advertised service for the "move-out clean" package). Everything else was done half-a$$ed if at all. They didn't clean the sink, any bathroom fixtures, windows/sills, they did absolutely zero dusting. The house looked awful and they were TERRIBLE coming to a resolution. They charged us $500 and only a $150 refund - for literally doing a terrible job and missing NUMEROUS areas they promised to clean. I do not recommend and if you value a good clean or return of your full rental deposit, use anyone else. This company felt like a scam through and through. They offered to send someone back to fix it, but we didn't have time to do it as the carpet cleaners would be in first thing the next morning. Additionally, the confidence we had that they could handle this was entirely gone. They would not discuss this on the phone and kept ending conversations on the phone so they could text. Terrible work, terrible service. We are now disputing with our financial institution. Save yourself the hell and hire someone else. Anyone else. read more

Awful from beginning to end. This company sent two sub-par cleaners, one who pulled up in a crappy rusty van and proceeded to putz around my house for 8 hours, while charging $330 for a "deep clean" that didn't even result in clean counters. Or floors. Or windows. I'm not sure what the cleaner did for eight hours. I felt bad and decided to give them another chance because I'm a sucker and the cleaner was nice. The second clean was done by the same person, but this time it was so bad I couldn't ignore how much it sucked. So NW Maids sent another cleaner a couple days later. The second cleaner showed up to my house late, with her dog, totally frantic, because (as she ultimately explained to me) she is homeless and didn't have anywhere to leave her pet. Long story short, (and I am omitting a lot for brevity) she asked me to give her more money because she needed gas. It was awkward and unprofessional to say the least. Also, she was in such a hurry because her dog was in the hot car, she skipped entire rooms. NW Maids declined to refund money for the service. This was the reply from NW Maids: "Hi Thea, Unfortunately we cannot issue any refund with regards to the reclean. As per company policy, we did send another cleaner out to reclean those missed areas. If you still were not satisfied, you could have notified us immediately and not a week later. We sincerely apologized that the cleaner talked excessively and divulged too much information. However, that is not grounds for a refund. Again, we apologize for the cleaners behavior and we have spoken to her regarding this conduct." All said and done, we paid $600 for a headache and slightly less cluttered house. Bad deal. read more

We planned child and dog care to be able to book this cleaning as a Christmas gift. This is an awful customer experience and NW Maids only offered 10% off a future cleaning which doesn't address the issue. NW maids is a hit or miss with their service. Their maids are not paid well, so expect their quality to reflect their minimal pay. On the off chance that you receive a good clean, know your maid is giving you more than you paid for, as jobs more than often end up paying less than WA state minimum. Being able to clean a "generally dirty" lived in home in the boasted "Our best Pros can clean a 1 bed, 1 bath in one hour", is an absolute joke, assuming you wanted your home cleaned and not effortlessly wiped. I do not recommend supporting a company that over works and massively under pays their workers. read more

I booked a mains through NW maids for a 1br apartment cleaning. I recently moved in, so I didn't opt for the extra $75 for a deep cleaning, which is encouraged for first time bookings. Communication was great! They reached out with some follow up questions and were quick to respond to any of my texts/emails. My maid was punctual and efficient. I was happy with the cleaning job after. Surfaces and floors were cleaned, bathroom cleaned, kitchen cleaned (this was probably my worst spot), bed made. Happy I booked :) read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. You may notice that I wrote a 5-star review about a year ago. At that time, Natasha was our cleaner and did an immaculate job. I had such a good experience, I figured I could count on NW Maids when I was moving out of my townhome rental. Unfortunately, I was and still am deeply disappointed in both the work and the customer service. I had scheduled a deep clean (for moving out) for my 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom townhome. When I arrived the day after the cleaning was scheduled, I was shocked to see the floors had visible debris and dirt, the baseboards and window sills were not even washed down. When I emailed to express my displeasure in the work, they offered to come back. However, as I was emailing further, they continued to list things they "didn't clean" as part of their deep clean package. This included: cobwebs on walls, anything more than a light dusting on blinds (apparently due to liability), and laundry rooms. Last year, Natasha came out and was washing the walls, and everything was sparkling. They did not clean the inside of my cabinets, the kitchen counter was not wiped down, the top of the fridge was only half-dusted (looked like only what someone could reach). After they told me all the things they weren't going to clean, I asked for a refund. They offered me $40 back on a bill of $319. I responded that it was actually rude to offer such a measly amount on such an unprofessional and half-assed job. They came back and gave me 50% of my money back. Now, because I stupidly believed they would do nice work and scheduled them just 3 days before my landlord came to inspect, I have to try and find another company who will clean all the spots they missed. I will never recommend NW Maids and I will never work with them again. I hate writing bad reviews but they made this so much more stressful than it needed to be. read more

I come home and see hair and leaves on my floor and numerous black specs that look like coffee grounds. Cleaners left after one hour. I have attached some pictures of the stuff I got from wiping random spots on the floor. My guess is that they dont pay too much attention and also do not clean their tools between apts. Contacted NW maids and their response was that they would refund $15 (out of 190). I hire cleaners to save some time. If I have to redo the stuff on my own it is not worth it. Leaving this review from Portland, which I have booked through the NWMaids.com site after trusting the good reviews here on Yelp. NW Maids service for regular bi-weekly cleaning in Portland has been totally unreliable and unaccountable. They have not showed up at all on multiple occasions. When they don't show up, I have to contact them and ask what's going on, after I've planned my day around the two-hour arrival window. Otherwise it seems like they don't even know that nobody showed up. I hope they can improve their accountability to succeed in Portland, but I'll be moving on. read more

I booked NW Maids for a 1x house cleaning with a $75 "deep cleaning" add-on. Their booking email states to expect the cleaning crew to spend a half day cleaning a home in average condition. My home was admittedly in below-average cleanliness condition prior to the service and the crew only spent 1hr and 40 mins cleaning my house. I was under the impression that all common spaces would be cleaned. They refused to clean our basement living spaces despite it being a fully-finished lived-in basement. I asked if my home was 2 stories/no basement as opposed to 1 story+finished basement, would they clean the common spaces on both floors? The answer was "Yes". We went back and forth as I was trying to understand this logic. They had zero explanation for why all living spaces would be cleaned if my 2nd floor was above the floor that I enter the home on as opposed to below the floor that I enter the home on. I am extremely dissatisfied and I will not be using NW Maids in the future. read more

I've had NW maids before so this 1 star review is really testament to how they screwed up. Scheduled a service, told me arrival window between 8 - 10am. Its past 10, i tried calling their main phone number, about 4 - 5 times no one picked up. Finally someone picked up about 10.20, said they went to the wrong location due to the gps. Connected me with the cleaner and he's completely bemused on where he is told me he found it on the GPS and will be there in 1 min. Its 10 mins, i call back again and he now says can't find the location even after me giving him the location and directions. What a shit-show. He's not even close to the street or the location i gave him. I would've been ok if they called me to tell me they were going to be late or if they tried to call me or contact me if they were at the wrong location... some kind of contact. Expensive. Didn't get what I was promised. They were to do a complete clean of an empty house before a renter came in. On the phone I explained to them the size and condition of the house, the woman I spoke to said they would completely clean everything from top to bottom, including wiping out the kitchen cabinets. I thought she told me that we would have two people for four hours. They booked one person, and she was coming from one job and going to another. She was overbooked and didn't have time to do everything that was promised. Some rooms were missed, the cabinets were still dirty, levolors dirty, cobwebs. She left before I had checked the house. The house stood empty for about three weeks until we got back to start painting, so I didn't notice most of this until then. When I contacted the company they said it was too late to have anybody come back and finish the job, but offered me credit. It cost $450 to have a completely empty house not cleaned well. read more

NW Maids found a cleaner to arrive two days after my original appointment. The cleaners did a pretty good job. They arrived on time and were properly masked. They missed some cleaning on the sink, but I am confident it can be addressed by pointing out the next time they are scheduled. While the original price was (with discount mentioned above) was honored for this cleaning, somehow my every 3 weeks price went up by roughly $25 for the subsequent cleanings. I can't help but wonder if the recurring price would not have gone up if they had showed up for the original appointment. read more

I thought our maid was really nice and she did a decent job, but she only took barely 2 hours. 2 hours just isn't enough to do everything on their list. I requested a general cleaning and I just assumed they would take however long it would take to clean all items on the checklist for my 1200 sqft 2bed2bath apartment. Some of the surfaces in my bathrooms, kitchen, and bedrooms weren't even touched. She didn't take out our garbage. The shower wasn't cleaned very thoroughly. She did clean the floors pretty well and she dusted some things, but not all. I think she cleaned the toilets well. She showed up on time but she left very promptly after almost 2 hours. I don't think it's her fault, but maybe add on another hour to make sure all things on your checklist actually get cleaned. read more

This was my first time using a cleaning service. It was for a move out clean to make the landlords happy and to receive my deposit back. I came across this company through Yelp and at first impressions of their website and services were very promising. Everything was very easy to navigate. After booking an appointment, they have called to confirm our appointment and assured us a good clean up. When we came to take a look at the home after the service, all I can say is wow. I have never seen a our house ever this cleaned. They all the kitchen appliances, wiped down all the cabinets, vacuumed every corner of the house, and cleaned all the bathrooms. This was a very deep clean and was worth every penny. The house was 2100 sqft, 3 bed and 3 bath and I was quoted for $359, then they offer coupons all over their website which I came across a 25$ off and brought the price down to $334. This was wayy better than some other companies that charged by the hour, which would of ended up being about $6-900 Overall, the services were amazing, they did an amazing job with the house and I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking to get their house cleaned for a decent price! read more

I have been using NW Maids for the past year and trust them with cleaning our house. While they are seemingly more expensive than just finding a random person who is recommended by a friend, they always seem to be available within a few days of requesting them and thus it is worth the cost to me to have that flexibility. They have morning spots which works well with my schedule, arrive on time (they offer a window of arrival depending on drive time) and 95 percent of the time the cleaners do a great job. There has only been one bad cleaner and they offered me a credit and have blocked that person from cleaning my house again. read more

Scheduled a move-out cleaning for a 5 bedroom 5 bath home. The team showed up and said they couldn't clean the house since the floors were not completely accessible. I did have 2 painters working in the home and there were some boxes and items still in the house. NW Maids had the wrong number on file (425 instead of 415 area code) and so they couldn't contact me to clarify so the team left and they charged me a $70 cancellation fee. I'm pretty understanding, I actually get this. I should have let them know that there was still stuff in the house and painters would be there. And I really needed to get the house cleaned for move-out so I decided to eat the $70 since NW maids offered to reschedule for the next day. I went through and moved boxes into the center of rooms so they could at least vacuum the perimeters and requested that they clean the kitchen, bathrooms, vacuum the accessible parts of the floors, and do the move-out cleaning (windows, cabinets, baseboards, etc.) I returned the next day after the cleaning to find that only 2 bathrooms were cleaned and a half of one other bathroom. In the kitchen the range had not been touched and only the sink and fridge were cleaned. NO vacuuming was done (even in empty rooms) and NOTHING was done regarding the move out cleaning at all. No cabinets were opened,no dusting of shelves, nothing done on baseboards. Zero. I checked my security camera and saw that the cleaner (1 person) was in the house from 9:13 until 11:42. That's 2 hours and 29 minutes of cleaning which explains why she was only able to do a very limited amount of work. I was in a pretty understanding mood because I scrambled and luckily was able to find another cleaner to finish the job and I figured that probably the cleaner was on a time crunch, was overscheduled, and just had to get to the next job. So I called NW Maids to work things out. Well this is where things really went wrong. When I explained the situation to the customer service agent at NW maids, saying that I'd certainly pay for the cleaning that I received (2.5 bathrooms, kitchen sink, and refrigerator) but requesting a refund for the cleaning that I ordered but did not receive, she proceeded to say that all the other areas I paid to be cleaned were not accessible due to "clutter" and therefore I would have to pay for the full cost of the cleaning. This simply isn't the case, yes there were some scattered items on counters and boxes on floors but clearly the kitchen range was accessible, ALL of the cabinets were empty and accessible, many rooms were completely empty and could have been vacuumed and two of the bathrooms were just totally skipped. I mean people have furniture and cleaners don't just not clean because "floors are not fully accessible". It seems really obvious to me that since they squeezed me in for the next day, the cleaner ran out of time and had to go to the next job and so she just left after doing what she could. Like I said, I understand this, and the areas that were cleaned were done pretty decently so I was happy to pay for that. But I'm not trying to pay for the substantial amount of cleaning that I didn't receive. After a lot of back and forth, the customer service rep finally offered me a $50 discount on the $489 cost of the cleaning (insulting, frankly). Apparently $439 is what NW maids thinks is a totally fair price for 2.5 man-hours of cleaning (see screenshot). I don't know about you but for 439 of my hard-earned American dollars I'm expecting some serious cleaning to happen, not 2 1/2 bathrooms, the kitchen sink, and the fridge. Things sometimes go wrong at every company. But if you look at the reviews for this company you will notice a clear pattern, when things go wrong at NW Maids they don't make it right. I don't write negative reviews that often -- I don't have time to waste like that. But I'm doing a public service here and saying that I'd stay away from this company. Sure if you're lucky to get a good cleaning that's great but if you're one of the unlucky ones, they won't actually do any customer service until you post a negative review and then they'll harass/bribe you to take it down. Well I won't be taking this down and I'm initiating a chargeback on my card. I don't appreciate being ripped off. read more
