If it could be a zero star I would put it. I won't comment on the numerous friends that told me of THEIR bad experience but I have to talk about mine. I bought a used VW EOS from them and within 6 months had to trade it in. What does that tell you? Manager in charge couldn't care less. If you have any problems, write to VW corporate like I did. Start a paper trail or it will become your word against theirs. Even though it's been over a year, every time I hear a story, I cringe. And YES, I do hold a grudge. This is a review for Mid-Island Hyundai, in which NY Auto Group owns. My wife and I experience nothing but rudeness from Dave Santiago. He was so arrogant and pompous. For the first hour with him, he was visiably helping other people, trying to make multipel sales and bragged that he had customers all over the place to us. We were quoted 289 for a Tucson 2 days before we came in again to close the deal. Upper management and Dave Santiago gave an excuse and backed out of the deal and offered the car for $70 more per month. Feeling angry that they wasted 3 hours of my time and insulted my intelligence, I left while he tried to re-negotiate. This arrogant ...hole followed me out and dropped a few f bombs on the lack of class I had, even though backing out of a done deal is the lowest class you can portray. I've been to more than 1 of their partner dealerships and unless you're buying a new car this place is FAR FAR FAR from worth it. Their websites tell you where you can "find" that car, 100% of the time the car isn't on the lot. There is no communication with the person that calls you, the salesperson and the IT guy. Nothing gets regularly updated. It's a horrible experience for customers, because they feel lied to and cheated. NY AUTO GIANT...if you're reading this, understand transparency make customers happier (I work in business). Your practices are beyond horrible and the employees you have need to understand what is ethical and unethical. It truly makes your establishment terrible. read more

SCUMBAGS! Do not do business with these leeches. Every dealership in the ATLANTIC AUTO GROUP is the same, they try to ram you in the finance department! I had a VW lease which ended in December 2013. I decided to buy it out. Went to Smithtown VW and was told they couldnt help me because no one was in the used car department at the time. Called Huntington VW and they didnt want my business either. I called Atlantic VW and they were eager to help me with the lease buy out. These guys ended up lying about all the fees and trying to sneak in a warranty that I specifically told them I did not want. They do this by avoiding discussing the price of the car at all, all they did was tell me what my monthly payment would be. They attempted to charge me a stupid interest rate for 72 months when I told them I wanted 5 year financing. They invented fees and argued with me when I knew they were lying. When I was on my way out the door they start offering to drop the monthly payment and finally started putting some numbers in front of me that sounded legit. I ended up going for it because I had been there for hrs with my wife, she wanted to get it over with and the kids were at home with the babysitter. I called VW credit the next day because I wanted to know if Atlantic was being truthful. They were lying about all the lease end fees. Do not waste your time with this place or any dealership in the ATLANTIC AUTO GROUP, especially if you are young and trying to get a decent interest rate. The salespeople are trained to play nice and butter you up so that the finance manager can then RAPE YOU. My payment dropped about 70 dollars when I was about to leave and the sales manager saved the deal. Imagine I would have said ok to that deal? I tried calling the manager Romaine Perkins about this, he HUNG UP ON ME. What kind of customer service is that? read more

Wow there are a lot of horrible reviews but I had a really lovely experience when I went in. I will admit I was having trouble at first at the NY Audi branch with salesperson Will Morrison (which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). However right next door was Atlantic Hyundai and we were lucky enough to deal with the sales man Alex Fermin (ASK FOR HIM!), he made everything go very smooth and we were able to walk out the same day with a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, even with our credit being not so great! His colleague Randy Abrev was also a delight and worked with us very well, I believe he was in financing. Anyway, we had a great experience, I suppose it really depends on who you deal with but it seems like a great dealership especially after going through SO MANY before this one. read more

STAY FAR AWAY!!!...worst experience of my LIFE dealing with these people. Salesmen are kind of annoying and don't listen to what you have to say but every dealership is kind of like that. but the SERVICE DEPT. oh my god. they have no idea what they are doing and the ATTITUDE that I got from them left me speechless. And the service manager himself was a complete asshole who can seriously go fuck himself as far as im concerned. I have a brand new car and I have had nothing but problems with it that make it 100% DANGEROUS to drive. and they have had it 3 times. I have only owned it for 3 months. ridiculous. they don't care about you being inconvenienced or the fact that a brand new car had to be sent back to them THREE times. This last visit they had it for 3 weeks. they are just unprofessional and nasty people there. I cant wait to get rid of this Nissan, ill never go back again and im sure to tell everyone how horrible all of this has been. BUYER BEWARE! My wife and I wanted to buy a 2014 or 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The sales guy showed us a demo model with 2400 miles on it. It wasn't exactly what we wanted --- wrong color --- so we told Nick we would consider it if the price was right. We go back and forth on the price, but no deal. Then "The Manager" comes over and we agree on a price. I asked him repeatedly if there are any other fees that I have to pay, like destination charges or dealer prep charges or anything at all. He says no, just tax and DMV charges. OK, so we have a deal. (Or so it seemed!) He sends us to the finance guy to do the paperwork. Frank enters our info into the computer and then explains the 4 Extended Warranty options: Platinum, Gold, Silver or none. I asked him how much is the Silver. He says $2875!!! It seemed ridiculously high. I asked if I can decide to buy it later before the regular 3 years are up. He says yes, but it would cost much, much more --- over $3500. That's totally ridiculous!!! So I politely declined. Then Frank's tune changed. He says we MUST buy the extended warranty if we want to get the agreed upon price, otherwise the deal is off. I told him, "No! Neither Nick nor The Manager told us we had to buy any extended warranty." They had not even told us the cost --- so how could we have agreed to it?!? --- and they never told us that the car's price depended on it. And again, Frank made it sound optional, that is, until we said No. He calls in another "Manager". At this point, my wife and I are both thoroughly annoyed. We were seriously ready to buy a car. We had negotiated a price. And we had a deal.....until the managers at NY Auto Giant of West Islip tried, in effect, to jack up the price by $2875. The Deal was OFF! We stormed out of there. They can keep their dirty demo model with 2400 miles on it. They just earned themselves a NEGATIVE review. Yes, they earrrrned it! Buyer beware!!! Don't let them push you into buying something you don't want. read more
