I've been here at least 4-5x for my regular car maintenance and I started coming here because the Honda in Bay Shore is even worse!! Unfortunately they get a poor review because I feel they're always trying to find ways to make money off of people. The services and parts are overpriced. They insist you need services on your car and then when you ask about them they can never provide a concrete explanation on how it's beneficial and worth the high asking price. They once tried to sell me a service for my brakes that wasn't need at all (I took my car to my trustworthy family mechanic of 20+ years to verify ). Honestly, I don't plan on stepping foot in here again and advise you stay away to avoid any headaches and berating from employees because they're trying to tell you what to do with YOUR CAR. After purchasing my HR-V at Babylon Honda, I continued to bring the vehicle there for service, and for the most part, I have been satisfied with the attention and service. I should add that my Honda has just over 20,000 miles on it, and most maintenance is being done based on time, not mileage. That changed today. I brought my car in for an oil change--no big deal. The service advisor made a recommendation, which I accepted, and I left the car. Several hours later, the advisor called with another recommendation, which I also accepted. After that last "fix," I was given an estimate of $769.00, less a $50 discount coupon. When I arrived to pick up the car, the price had increased to $865. I questioned it, and the response given was that the estimate didn't include tax. Now comes the real annoyance. First of all, the printed invoice clearly shows that the estimated cost was $900, so plainly the actual cost was known, but not conveyed honestly. Secondly, when I presented a credit card to pay the bill, an additional fee was tagged on, bringing my total almost to $900. Needless to say, I will begin taking advantage of the fact that I can use other car repair services for basic maintenance. I feel that at the very least the dealership took advantage. read more

I went to 3 Honda dealers to buy a new Accord Hybrid. The first was the dealership where I had bought two previous cars. There are ways they have of evaluating you when you walk in, and apparently I was not dressed for success. They gave me a nice young sales person who was just hired. He could not show me a single hybrid, and wanted to know why I wanted one. The second shop was somewhat better, and at least they let me work the car in their parking garage. Their offer was almost identical to the first dealer. Finally Babylon had a car, insisted that I take it out, and made a good offer that they kept improving. These people know how to deal. Once we had sealed the deal and came in to pick it up, some of the worn spots that others mentioned began to appear. Many many people are running around, but not much involving us was getting done. After the last person took our check he gave us keys and told us we were good to go. Unfortunately, we got home and found that they had not finished adding the window stickers so we had to go back a few days later. That said, the manager Phil and sales person Sarah were delightful.Given the overall experience, I suspect they will pick up that last star sooner rather than later. Note to the first dealership (You know who you are) - we bought this car with a full cash payment. Don't judge a book by its cover. I am not there so you will be impressed by me. After five emails, they refused to give me a price on a specific new car they had in stock. Smoke up the arse about good time to buy, I can save you money, competitive online pricing blah blah...only price I was directed to was the MSRP. Edmunds says fair price is $1k lower than MSRP. Talk about sleazy sales practices. We leased a new Honda CRV in October. We turned in our existing Honda at the same time. We usually go to Babylon where we've never had any issues with the past 4 vehicles we've leased from Honda. Paid out some significant $$ on top of everything else. Sales person stated that lease would be taken care of by Honda as we were solicited to bring in our vehicle early. First eyebrow raise, and should have been a red flag, was that the agreed upon 12k lease did not show up on the paperwork received from bank. After multiple calls/texts, that finally got resolved but not after almost begging for calls back. Then, we get word that the old lease was still expecting payment. Multiple calls to Honda yield absolutely nothing. A couple answers of "we'll look into that" and, "that's not right". Finally we get a hit on our credit report. Nothing was "looked into". Just statements that "the vehicle is grounded" (whatever that means) and it's the banks problem and now "your" (meaning my) problem. Now some 4 months later and not once did they call us, we had to call them till finally today, to my discredit, I lost my proverbial cool to the Sales Lease moron who's about as dumb as a bag of hammers. I've leased Hondas and Nissans by the dozens over the years and have NEVER had the previous bank reach out because the dealership didn't do what they were supposed to do. Beyond that, never had a dealership treat me as poorly as these people did. Disgusting cowards that don't return calls, mails, inquiries. Classic lazy people. My plan is to reach out to Veterans Affairs and follow up through them. I'm sure finding out this is how Babylon Honda treats Combat Vets will go over like a lead balloon. Avoid this dealership, especially if you are a woman. These are four of the shady business practices we experienced: 1. We went in to see our options for my lease buyout. They added an extra $3000 fee if we were to buy the car in cash. When we asked for the fee's purpose, we were not provided a coherent answer. They said it was because of a new law. We asked them what the law is called. They wouldn't give any information on it. We still do not know what this meant. We have since asked other dealerships about it and they suspect New Babylon Honda lied. 2. We were offered a 16% interest rate initially - we both have excellent credit scores so this was ridiculous, even for a markup. We found an outside loan with a realistic interest rate for our scores. I called before setting up an appointment to make sure this was OK and was told absolutely. 3. After running several hard credit checks that we didn't want, Phil, the financial director, refused to use our approved loan and told us to go somewhere else. When asked why, rather than providing an answer, he told me to stop raising my voice. At this point, I was confused about why they wouldn't use our approved loan, but I was not raising my voice. I said I want to know the problem because when I had called earlier they said everything would be fine. Again, rather than answering my question, Phil said to stop raising my voice or I would be asked to leave. He also remarked that I had a tone. This was NOT said to my male partner who asked the same question. The disparate treatment reads as misogynistic. We can deduce that he refused because we weren't financing through them. Instead of being transparent, he was evasive and acted like I was hysterical when I pressed for a reason -- this was after working with them for several hours and paying a deposit. I advise management to give Phil and their other representatives customer service & DEI training. It comes off as inappropriate and sexist to treat a woman like she is overly emotional for expecting an answer to her question. Moreover, it is unacceptable customer service. He evaded our questions after we had already paid a $$$ deposit to the dealership. When a customer has paid a large amount of money, you do not avoid her questions. You don't threaten to kick her out for asking questions. And you certainly do not treat a female customer any differently than a male customer. This should be basic business practice, yet we experienced otherwise. 4. They performed several hard credit checks on us when we were already approved for a loan. We specifically asked them not to do any other checks. The bank said there was no reason for the dealership to perform them. We now have several hard credit inquiries with nothing but wasted time to show for it. We spent a total of 6-7 hours at this dealership and the service was horrible. I regret the negative review because each receptionist has been nothing but kind and helpful- they would get five stars. The salesman was timely in answering questions and issuing our refund. I appreciate that he sent a follow up email after this experience. However, it doesn't make up for what felt like sexist treatment, lies and evasion. TLDR: At best, business prioritized a short term profit over a long term client relationship. At worst, New Babylon Honda operated dishonorably and dishonestly. I highly warn against this dealership, especially if you are a woman. read more

Dropped my 2019 Ridgeline (that has 21,000 miles on it) off for service. Ny state inspection and what ever service it needs with 21,000 mile. They told me it needed oil/filter, rotate tires/alignment, transmission flush, rear differential flush and replace cabin air filter & engine air filters. The bill was over $1300.0 ( which I agreed to when I dropped off). Went to pick up the truck and the main thing that I dropped it off for (Ny inspection) was not done. They did it quick and I left. The overall service and attitude was not great, had to call 3 times to get someone on the phone.The main reason for not being happy is $1300.00 for regular service on a car that has 21,000 mile is excessive. I have multiple other cars and trucks and this is by far the most expensive car to have serviced . The cost of owner ship on this Honda is way too high. I will not buy another Honda. read more

I leased a 2018 Honda Accord three years ago from another Honda dealership. My lease was approaching maturity at the end of 2021, so I decided to buyout my lease. My car is in great condition and low mileage and because of this "chip" shortage and prices on newer cars I opted to keep what I have. Because Babylon Honda is nearby I went to them to complete the buyout. Why? Really should have went with my initial intent with leaving the dealer out of it and just go through the bank directly. First off, it took 6.5 hrs to buy a car that was already in my possession. Ridiculous! Also, my gut tells me I got screwed over with the loan. Honda corporate confirmed my buyout amount but I feel my loan is way more than what I expected. I get it includes, taxes, warranty, processing fees etc, but it was a big jump. They tried to give me a rate 5.5% and swore that was the best, lies! I talked him down but still didn't beat a credit union's rate. I don't know much about cars. All I know is what I want to pay and what I don't. Although the service I received was friendly, I think I got jerked. Probably sold me some ish I didn't need so they can make a profit. Idk. I won't cry over spilled milk but rest assured if I lease/finance another Honda it won't be from here. My trust in car dealerships period is close to none as it is. I just hate the process and always feel they are trying to nickle and dime you. Trust your intuition. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. I would like to share my bad deal with this Car Dealer on Montauk Highway Babylon. New Honda of Babylon is the epitome of why most people don't trust used car dealers. We bought a used 2017 Jeep Renegade from them on Dec 17th of this year. We spent 6 hours with the salesman, Finance Dealer before we drove the car out at 6:30 PM. JULES, the salewsman took us for a test drive and intentionally did not drive on any road going over 30 miles per hour. We aske dabout the special feature onthe Jeep the douoble Moon/Sun roof, and JULES relpy was yes he tested it and it worked perfectly. The next day after we bought the car Monday, Dec. 18th the sunroof/moonroof had the sound of wind rushing in . When e thought the sun/moon roof wasnt closed all the way, we tried it, Well to our surprise it DID NOT WORK. We retuned the car the following day and they had to keep it for a few days to evaluate the problem. I called 3 times asming for Nick the assistant Manager, and of course the receptionist Liz blew me off saying he was busy with other customers. One of the servicve managers ANGEL told me after I called the Dealership 3 times without getting him to call back that the Sunroof Track was broken, and they would have to evaluate the repairs. Today being Dec. 29th I was told that they are not covering the car as we declined the extended warranty. I insisted to him that the Salesman and Dealership KNEW this was broken before we bough the car. All i got was BS excuses why they were not taking responsibility for the repairs. We picked up the car and feel wel got robbed by New Honda of Babylon. In conclusion, I warn all used car buyers NOT to support this Dealership! You will most likely get screwed by them. I have been a Honda owner my entire life. Every car I've bought has been a Honda. That being said, I have a sway bar issue on my CR-V. I knew what the problem was before calling. The girl who answered told me I could just come in today before 2. I headed over to Babylon Honda to find them closed at 8 am. A sign on the door states the service building is at a different address. Would have been nice for her to tell me that on the phone. I headed there and met her at the front desk. She did not greet me at all. I said hello and explained I just spoke to her. She rudely told me to drive into the garage. I apologized stating I didn't know to do that. Another rep took my car and said they would text me the issue and it's $200 to diagnose my car. That money would be towards the problem if I choose to fix it or I would just pay that as a fee if I don't use them to fix it. I agreed and left. Got a text an hour later stating it was indeed front stabilizer links and it would cost me $1,100. Those links btw are $50 each. Parts would only be $100 anywhere else tack on another $100-200 for labor. I said no thanks I will come get my car. Same front desk girl again did not greet me. I said hi I'm here to pick up my car and she said it's not here. I said um they just called and said I'm ready. She blankly stared at me. I sat down and waited. I got up about 15 mins later and asked if she could find out where my car is. She gets up and puts my key on the counter and says it's $217. I wrote her a check bc there are signs everywhere stating there's a 3% fee for credit cards. She hands me my check claiming it's denied. Mind you I manage the bank!!! I tell her she has to take the check and she says you don't have a card? I said I do and I am not paying u an addt 3%. She then said idk what to do and blankly stared at me again. And then said use ur card. I took the mgrs business card as I handed her my card to pay fully intending to call him to report how ATROCIOUS his front desk is. She was wearing a nameplate that said JACKELYN and she has no business being employed anywhere. I asked her where my car is and she blankly looked at me again and said the lot. I walked out to the lot and there was no car. I had to walk into the garage and demand my car. Mgr Nick came out and asked me what was wrong. After complaining about his front desk he gave me his number if I ever wanted to do business in the future haha. About an hour later I get a call saying the mgr really wants to help me so he'll do it for $699. I'm sorry but where did u pull a $400 discount out from??
