I got my Siberian Husky from NY Breeder about 7 years ago. However I feel compelled to write a review. I like many others here had a difficult time with New York breeder. From the time I got him, my dog had severe food allergies and we were constantly running to the vet for one reason or another. He had constant diarrhea among other issues. NY Breeder refused to take responsibility and that was that. Now what I can say is that I do have an amazing dog. He is incredibly well behaved (probably thanks to training to some degree). His temperament is amazing. He doesn't bark he doesn't howl he listens well. Everyone wishes my dog was their dog. So as a business is it a great business maybe not. But I do have an amazing dog and I wouldn't have that without NY Breeder. read more

Free training for lifetime and the care for nails and bathing your pooch is done with such incredible attention. Annmarie who will greet you when you enter is the nicest! The entire staff is 5 Star. As I read some of the negative reviews, I wondered since our experience has been of the highest quality. I left this store very disappointed, and shocked by the lack of professionalism-- not only by the employees' laissez-faire attitude about masks (they weren't wearing any) but also by their overt rudeness. I was informed that the owner is deaf and reads lips, hence the "reason why the employees were not wearing masks." That said, the owner was not on site when I was in the store, nor were any other deaf or hard of hearing employees present. My cousin is a part of the deaf community, and when he goes into a store, he wears an FDA approved surgical mask with a fog-resistant clear window. He does this as preventive measure for himself, as well as out of respect for others. I believe it is still NY-State law to wear a mask in public. Please address your employees accordingly otherwise I will continue to take my business elsewhere, and encourage friends/colleagues to do the same. read more

I saw yelp reviews calling that place a fraud and now I know why. Long story short, I fell in love with a puppy and was about to pull the trigger. I visited later in the day at which point the puppy started to cough. Then I looked up reviews and it looks like this place has a long history of selling sick dogs. I told my wife I wanted to try anyway so I called earlier today to verify the health. The first obvious question was "are the parents healthy?" The manager was rude in response. She refused to provide the parents health. She said she would not ask the breeder and it was a ridiculous thing to ask. Here's the thing: any quality breeder will provide that information. The fact they have a reputation for selling sick dogs, the puppy I wanted was sick, and they refused to share parents medical history says a lot. Stay clear of this place. read more

Kwamae was so incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. I had lost my dog through old age the previous year so was hesitant to be a doggy mom again. However, Kwamae was very patient and allowed me plenty of time with the puppy. When my family finally decided to get the puppy, he walked me & my husband through the training and care needed for a puppy. Don't waste your time going here. I called before I went to ask if they had hypo-allergenic female puppies available in the store. Woman answered that they had lots of them. So I drove the 20 minutes from home in Yonkers to their store on Tarrytown Road in White Plains. when I arrived there was a woman associate and a man associate. I went to the woman and asked to see the female hypo- allergenic puppies. She looked around and said they just had 1 shish-tsu. She didn't know anything about the breed when I asked a few questions while playing with the puppy. Glad I didn't travel far. The following Wednesday (day they get new puppies in) I went to Central Park Puppies on Central Avenue in Yonkers. Yay me!! Found my little mini red poodle, Rubi, there. The sweetest. When I bought over $400 of products for the dog I was told I could return them As long as they have tags then later was told I could only return for store credit! When I was there played with a puppy and fell in love with her she had a little cough but didn't think anything of it.. Put a deposit and went back next day played with her she still had cough I asked sheyenne if she was ok and she brought her to Rebecca who looked at her and said she was ok ..I bought her home the same day and then 2 days later she has a respiratory infection and Kennel cough. NY Breeder Stopped his heart worm medicine --WHY? Pedro said because I bought the dog. He said he couldn't give me the medicine because they are not a vet. Such stupidity. STAY AWAY FROM NY BREEDER!!! I wish I did my research on NY Breeder before I purchased a dog from them. They sold me a $5,000 puppy that had pneumonia and has orthopedic issues. When I purchased the dog they informed me that they will pay all vet expenses if the dog is sick . I called the store and spoke with the manager . she told me that they will ONLY cover the treatment not the vet fees "as per state laws". I researched the Lemon laws on dogs and seller is responsible for all vet expenses up to the price of the dog, as per the NY Attorney General website. I will be filing a compliant with Better Business Bureau and with NY Attorney General office, If they can not help me ,I will be taking them to court. I've had to take time off work to take the dog to the vet for nebulizer treatments, I also had been going home on lunch break to administer medication to the dog. read more

I have been dealing with NY Breeder for a good while now and they have almost become old friends. The staff are awesome. Linda, Robyn, Gina, Christian, Melissa, and the entire kennel crew who are truly the backbone of the place really are the best. They care about the pups and care about the process. I am on my 3rd pup from them and thats because they deal with quality breeders and have great professionalism. I have read comments about the treatment of the dogs. I spend a lot of time there and let me just say these dogs are treated rather well. Fed daily, washed when necessary, play time abundantly and lots of love from the staff. When you arrive, yes the staff may ask questions to see if you are seriously interested but that is not for them its for the pups. Can you imagine how stressful it is to the pup to be taken out, played with, loved, then to be put back? Its important that the dogs emotions are stimulated only by people who are serious buyers. All the other comments about smell, poop in crates, etc. Lets see how well youd be able to keep up your house if you had over 40 pups to care for. I am sure it wouldnt smell like roses. I give 5 stars because I have spent enough time with these folks to know how much they care and love these dogs. And they truly have some of the most beautiful dogs you could find. Sold us a sickly malnourished puppy that has a birth defect that has changed our lives and will cost $$$$ for surgery that may not even help her. Already spent $$$$ for diagnostic testing Sad place. They withhold breeder contact information so you can't get in touch with the breeder to inform/warn of birth defect issues that don't show up until the dog is over a year old. They are also very clear that they have no intention on upholding their so-called guarantee of health. Whether or not the Staff can be really nice doesn't solve the puppies' health problems. Just a quick shout out and thank you to Linda, Jonathan and Christian for helping us with the most perfect little girl we could ask for!!! The entire experience at NY Breeder was first rate, giving us plenty of time to hold, play and watch the puppy we purchased before selecting. Linda was very helpful in giving us a private space to cuddle and watch for as long as we needed. Even when we were concerned that the puppy we were interested in was a bit too "relaxed" she suggested and brought over her crate mates and after watching her play very energetically (being a fierce little girl, i might add) we could see she was not only adorable, but quite the little warrior princess! After the selection, Jonathan and Christian spent loads of time going over all the important details we would need to know in order for our little girl to adjust to her new home such as crate training and feeding. I am also very appreciative of the detail we received in making sure shot and health records were exchanged and we were very comfortable with what we needed to do when we got home and what steps we needed to take to ensure our little toy poodle would be safe and sound. I got my schnauzer at NY breeder. He's adorable and the best dog ever. I felt so bad that he was over 5 months old and still sitting in a cage. My dog is happy and healthy. When I first got him he was petrified to come out of his cage. He had been in one for so long. There were many dogs that appeared to be on the "older" side and one Frenchie actually had green boogers (which I had to point out to the lady at the desk-he was swiftly put in the back-hopefully he was ok). While I don't love supporting pet stores that sell dogs-I do have to say my little guy is perfect. Decided on NY Breeder because it's not far from home and our favorite spot was closed for the day. Brought all the necessary paperwork such as my Beagle's latest shots and what have you. As the person behind the counter is jotting information down, I decided to take a quick look at the doggies. And looking closer, noticed many of their dogs, were laying on their own poop. The horrendous foul smell inside turned me off- but my dog needed a wash- so ended leaving her there. I asked if dogs coming in for a wash were placed in cages and the young girl said no. Pets coming in for a wash, are leashed as they wait for pick up. O...k. Kinda felt a wee bit better. By the way, other locations go out of their way, and hook up their doggies with a complimentary handkerchief. Not here. I'm giving this place just a star because my dog did in fact smelled good. Nails were cut. And price is good. That's it!! Other than that, place stinks!!! read more

Do not go here! Not only did we have an awful experience with the sale- they mixed up the price of our dog with another customers but I am pretty confident my dog was abused by the staff. She was about 5 1/2 months when we got her- she is extremely skiddish, nervous, and timid. She had cuts all over her head which they said is normal- yet I have never seen this at any other pet store- only this one. Now she has aggression- it was with men when we first got her and now a year later it's with anyone. This has become a serious issues and expense as we are working with a private trainer to help the issue. We love her more then anything but it is completely obvious that something happened to her at the time she spent there. Go directly to a breeder if you want a pure bred - you are paying way more then you should from a place that doesn't take care of there animals. A year later we got a puppy from a breeder who was raised on a farm and you can see the difference in personalities. UPDATE TO GARY 10/17- First of all- the puppy was purchased under my husbands name, 2nd of all I'm finding it hard to believe that you've been in business 35 years and don't have an Amber. Why would we bring a dog back to the place that it was obviously abused? Regardless if it you offer free training or not I would never bring my dog into your store. I didn't write this post a year later to contact you but to warn other potential customers- I will never get use to the fact of how skiddish she is and scared of everything and anything. Really- you would never sell a puppy with cuts all over her head? See images below. Also- ive been there multiple times after we got her since we couldn't find Fromms locally and I see the same thing on many of your dogs- she wasn't a one case scenario. As per the sales pitch your team gives- it's normally for the puppies to play and bite each other. FYI I haven't seen this at other stores. As far as mixing puppies- this has nothing to do with them being chipped. This was in regards to the transaction. Also- you were aware of the situation because they had to keep calling you over the issue. Myself and another couple were both interested in getting bulldogs- your sales team misquoted the other couple- they told them there bulldog was the price of mine when really was more expensive- they swiped there credit card, prepped the dog to go home - and then told them the dog was really a few hundred more. We were waiting for about 2 hours for the situation to resolve. FYI instead of honoring the price they ended up paying more money since there young children were there and already attached to the dog- it was truly disgusting to see how business was conducted. Sorry but I don't feel it's right to send a private message so others can think you did nothing wrong. I don't regret coming home with her as she is the best thing to happen to my husband and I. Update 5/19 7 months ago I wrote a post about the English bulldog we purchased from NY Breeder who was obviously abused and mistreated both physically and emotionally. I am in tears as I write this post because I have Never loved a dog so much but due to the poor breeding and the puppy mills these dogs come from I need to surrender my baby girl. A few months after we got her she was showing slight signs of fear aggression that progressed. We have worked with several trainers and they all know she can be trained if living in the right conditions but due to where we live in a town home community she is set up for failure. We have contacted a well known English bulldog rescue and when we mentioned NY BREEDER they immediately knew who they were and said puppy mills and poor breeding. Our hearts have never felt more broken as they do know. When looking for a dog please work with the breeders directly and do your research well. Absolutely do not waste your time here. If there was a no star option, I would have chosen it. My husband and I went in yesterday to purchase a puppy. We were looking for a hypoallergenic pup. At first everything seemed fine, a sales person helped us immediately and we were in a cubicle with a puppy in minutes. We have both had dogs before so we were experienced. First puppy was adorable and we spent a good amount of time with her (25 mins), decided to see another one which we spent a little less time with, maybe 15 minutes (Each time we had to go get our salesperson to move along the sale). The third pup we fell in love with. We were quoted $4599! Which was way over our price range. We asked if they could do better, he came back and said sorry, I mis-quoted, it's actually $4699. We started getting suspicious. Meanwhile he left us in the cubicle with the dog for more than 30 mins. We couldn't find him. They could tell we loved the pup and this was their tactic to hook us. Finally we found him and he apologized, but he had made a mistake and the puppy wasn't actually available!! OMG. Are you kidding me?! We were furious. We had just fallen in love (Thank god we didn't bring our kids) and he is now telling us the dog is not available, in fact he gave us the wrong dog. Each dog has its own special personality, this pup just immediately fit with us. They ripped him away from us and tried to sell us another dog! We were furious!! We left. I was beside myself and could not just leave without speaking with the manager. So I went back in, against my husband's wishes- as I walked in the assistant manager approached me and said "oh I'm so glad you came back, the puppy IS AVAILABLE, but not at that price." I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I didn't go back in to negotiate for the puppy, I went back in to talk to the manager and point out that his business is extremely poorly run, with untrained, unknowledgeable staff, and they had lost a customer for LIFE and our larger community/friends would also never set foot in the store ever. We could not believe what they were doing. All the manager (Gary) could say is, "well people make mistakes. Do you know how much I had to pay for that puppy!?" Wow, what a poor business man. This is truly a puppy mill at the highest level. Do not buy your puppies from this company, they are ruthless, don't care about their pups, and are after $$ only. There was no care and consideration given to us at all, and they tried to rip us off! It's amazing that their tactic is to make you fall in love with a pup and than change all the rules of what they originally told you! Unbelievable! DO NOT GO HERE. So very sad...we feel so sorry for the dogs there. The entire experience was horrible, worst kind of customer service I have ever experienced. My puppy Kannon just passed away Dakota animal hospital told me about this place. I went in and I looked around I am very upset didn't really want to see a puppy but I sat down with a beautiful little Yorkie. I am completely in love and happy that I went in there for my new beautiful baby. It won't replace my baby Kannon but it fills a void that I had in my heart. I love that they do the training with you and they actually care about their puppies this is my first small breed dog and they explained everything to me step by step. I love this place and I loved that I was able to watch the animal behaviorist train a German Shepard that was there. Great store great staff amazing experience. I thought they covered all of it. My dog came home with a cough and 4 weeks later still coughing. They recommended a vet and they tell you that NY Breeders cover the cost for x rays etc... not true. They said if you have questions to call anytime. Bullshit. They dont care once you leave with your dog. I wish I had read the reviews before buying a dog. They are over priced. The train wreck manager says that most of the bad reviews are from activists. Really? She said that she knew this because she looks up the names. Wrong. She is a liar. People on Yelp dont necessarily use their real name. Dont trust these people. I believe these dogs are from puppy mills. Not happy. The girl with the weave is not friendly at all. Very condescending. Does nothing at all to make you comfortable. Sits there with an attitude .The owner is nice i can say that much. The dogs are very expensive. She pretty much tries to force you to buy the dog before you can even hold the dog or even bring the dog over to you while holding it themselves. A dog is a child that will be with you for years, So it would be nice to be able to see the dogs character a little closer than threw the glass or from a far in one of the small cages. To start things off, I will say that I bought a puppy from here last year who is doing fine now. However. There are several issues with this place that need to be addressed. First of all, after doing research it is ABUNDANTLY clear that all of these dogs come from puppy mills. I've had dogs from legitimate breeders before and none of them would sell to a pet store, they're often operated out of their homes. I know that their dogs come from puppy mills because if you simply google the "breeders" name after purchasing you'll often find citations against them by the USDA. At least in my case there were several including euthanasia via gun shot to the head. Anyway. The puppies are all crammed together in uncomfortable looking cages. Very easy for disease to spread this way. In fact, my puppy had to be on THREE rounds of metronidazole to get rid of Giardia that somehow the contracted vet missed but mine didn't. (Dakota Veterinary is their contracted veterinarian who is also awful and is shameful for participating in this whole operation). Puppy was also not vaccinated properly (schedule was wrong). I find this whole place to be awful in way the dogs are kept although the only positive I could find was that Christian was nice and that my puppy is now happy and healthy. Thank god I rescued him from this hell hole. read more
