I'm so disappointed to be leaving a less than 5 star review, but I did not end up having the best experience with Tram. I definitely applaud her organization and kind attitude. She introduced me to Gel X which is a much healthier alternative for me during pregnancy and much lighter than acrylic nails. Unfortunately, I didn't feel the pedicure was worth the price and her mom who does the pedicures was polite but not that friendly. I did the charcoal pedicure the first time which is supposed to be detoxifying, but I didn't feel tingles or anything particularly unique or beneficial from it so I just went with a regular pedicure the next time. I had my nails done twice by Tram. The first time we both chatted a lot and the color and finish did not turn out the way I had expected. I think it would have been good for her to show me to make sure I liked it but I also take responsibility since I was caught up in conversation and not paying as good of attention. My issue was that the nails had parts that were uneven and hard pieces on the edges that I had to file and fix when I came home and I felt rushed at the end. The next time I came I was doing a gel x fill with French tips. Even with showing a photo it was tough for her to achieve the design I wanted and I asked for her help choosing a pale pink, but she kept selecting bubble gum pinks that were much brighter than what I wanted. She had a glitter color she was supposed to show me that time before my next appt but she rushed me again at the end saying she was behind. I was confused and asked her how long she had scheduled for our appt. She said 90min. Our appt was at 2:45, but I arrived early at 2:36pm and when she was done it was 4:12pm. We still had three minutes so we could have scheduled my next appt and looked at the glitter color. I texted her after I left with my next requested appt time and asked about the glitter. She never responded. After getting home and looking at my nails, I realized they did not match in length. One hands nails were longer than the other. I followed up with her the next week and she replied with a scripted text saying she had a family emergency, she could not do my nails even though my nail appt was 3 weeks away, she couldn't schedule any future appts at the time and suggested four other nail artists to go to. read more

Unlike the traditional nail salons I have been to that rush you to get to the next client and that are usually loud, Laquebox is a small, quaint, relaxed setting. I was very impressed when I walked into Laque Box studio. The place is immaculate/spick and span &organized. Her equipments are state of the art. The sterilizer for her tools is even visible. I feel safe. I know right away that I was in the right place, and I could say that this will be my to go nail salon from now on. I finally found someone whom I could trust. The place wasn't like a typical Nail Salon i've been to where chairs are lined up & crowded. Her place is very private, one on one /personalized quality service.
