WARNING: Do NOT let Anton touch your hair. I came to this salon (formerly known as Chic Hair NYC) for a simple root touch-up and hair color. Stylist Anton severely damaged my hair. Here's what happened: - He over-bleached my hair, causing serious damage - I had extensions, and after coloring, my extensions no longer matched my hair - At the end of my appointment, he applied silicone to my hair WITHOUT telling me -- clearly to hide the damage so I wouldn't notice until I got home When I called the salon to report what happened, they had zero interest in making it right. Their only solution? Come back in and pay AGAIN for a "correction" to fix the damage their own stylist caused. This salon is dishonest, unprofessional, and will damage your hair and your wallet. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday. ~2 hours before my appointment, they called and said they were running behind and asked if I could push my appointment about an hour. I said yes, and made the trip there. When I got there I waited for 40 minutes, which was ridiculous. Eventually they said they had no idea when they could start my color and I decided to leave. This was on a Saturday afternoon, and I had planned the day around it so it was really frustrating. They agreed to give me a 20% discount if I rescheduled, but were pretty rude about it - made me feel bad about event asking for a discount and told me that I could do it, but they weren't going to make money off of it. Didn't think 20% was unreasonable given they pushed my appt, and still couldn't take me after I made the trip in but whatever. At my rescheduled appointment, my stylist was nice but the service I received was terrible. He left so much leftover color residue in my hair, and the color match was completely off - I'm brunette and simply wanted to get grays concealed but ended up with a reddish tint to my hair. Additionally, he smelled SO strongly of cigarettes, which was really off putting. Given that smell and the leftover color in my hair, I had to shower same day because my hair felt and smelled bad. My hair was strong, healthy and really long, I requested only one color close to my natural hair brown and I said not to use bleach since I don't like to use strong chemicals on my hair. I had an appointment at 1 pm but I got service close to 3:30, then the guy doing my color apply different chemicals and formulas in my hair, he said it was because my roots where natural and the half of my hair had some iluminations and that's why he needed different formulas, then he left for a long time, he did not check on chemical reactions and came back after a long time, when he washed my hair I could see that it looks like he applyed bleach and he realized it was to many time with the chemicals and my hair was destroyed, dry,broken, with about 4 colors in my hair. They cut my long hair 4 fingers away from my chin since it was so destroyed, however the damage is still in my hair, I will have to cut it close to my ears and I will have probably need to use wig. I scheduled an appointment online for a keratin treatment. 45 minutes before my appointment, I received a text saying the stylist is 45 minutes late. I then responded that I would need to reschedule then because I have my day planned out and unfortunately cannot take longer than needed at the salon today. Their response was since I am rescheduling last minute they are keeping my deposit and I would have to pay a deposit again. Got the WORST hair cut in my entire life in this hair salon. I'm only giving it two starts because the staff was very friendly and I also got a hair treatment (hair botox) that was very good for my hair. Do not use. I have just moved to the area. I had an appointment for 6 pm and left at 4:30 pm from Miami. I got lost and finally called around 6:15 pm and was told that they were inside in the same place as Trulucks and to go in and park. By the time I parked and paid $15.00 I called again for further directions and the stylist had left for the day. You have to pay if you miss an appointment but also if you get lost and end up late your appointment may be cancelled by NYC Chic Hair. I will never use their services ever! I had to pay and was told to continue to come and I also had to pay a parking fee. What a waste of time and money. A lesson well learned. read more
