SECOND REVIEW: I just coordinated another job for one of my clients and hired NYC Stone Care. The company did a PHENOMENAL job! In fact, the stone looks better than when the apartment was brand new since they polished to protect from moisture damage. This company is fantastic. I would give it 10 starts if possible! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I recently needed a slate bathroom restored. After completing several online requests one night a representative contacted me the very next morning. A few days later an estimator met me at the property and educated me on what needed to be done. Once we decided to move forward with the job the office sent the required Certificate of Insurance exactly as my co-op needed it. When repair day arrived the team showed up on time, was polite, protected the surrounding area, and completed the job in a timely fashion. The company is very professional and does a great job. I've used this company several times and have always been satisfied. But this time it was even better than expected. The lead person on this job , William, is not only a really hard worker but he's an artist too. I've never seen such a perfect grout job and quite frankly my stone is absolutely shining now. I've never had that experience prior to having William on the job. Ask for this guy when you book an appointment. He will not disappoint. I'm thrilled with his work. read more

This company is completely inept. We hired them to polish and seal our granite countertop and to fill in some pitting and to clean and seal the tile floor. The two guys that showed up seemed to have no idea what they were doing. The job was "done" very quickly and I doubt they even sealed the granite and he outright told me the pitting couldn't be repaired (despite what the salesman said). They tried to leave without cleaning the floor. When I called them out on it, they had to call the office to be instructed on how to do it and then got a machine out of the truck. At that point I was watching and they definitely did not seal the tile floor. Overall, $2,600 for this incompetency. I was totally ripped off. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! read more

Initially, things went great. They were responsive on the phone and had all the paperwork my building required to start the work. There was some initial discrepancy in the scope of work but I take some of the responsibility for that since I wasn't double checking the exact wording on their estimate which was different from what we discussed in person and over the phone. Also, I never saw the main contractor I initially spoke at my job site. He should've been there to monitor the work and check in with me to see if the work was looking close to what I asked for. I told them from the start what I wanted and even showed them pictures of exactly what I was going for, the results were far different. They seemed to cut corners and take no pride in the work they completed. The bathroom work they did was so bad I now have to completely redo it. There are huge gouges in the floor. Throughout the apartment, the stain essentially looks like a bad uneven paint job. They even got it all over the baseboards. They clearly did not polish the floors enough because its rough everywhere. I paid over $10k for floors that look ugly and now there is nothing to do but cover them up with area rugs. They took a few of my supplies by accident too, but they did try and compensate me for that UPDATE: while my floors are still not what I initially wanted/expected, I appreciate how NYC Stone care has responded to my concerns and done their best to rectify the situation. read more

Not a good experience. Our kitchen stove was damaged, but fortunately the company paid for repair. The tile grout was not properly cleaned. All in all cannot recommend them at all. Pay attentinto the recent reviews. We had the same difficulty with a very glib salesman, false assurances, and then a sloppy job. read more

We had them do our refinish our countertops and they did a horrible job. Part of this is the countertops are very high end and don't keep up well. I think the thing that is most upsetting is they should have told us that they wouldn't be able to do much to make them look better. They also weren't truthful on how long the job actually took them. They said it took them almost 4 hours which wasn't true! We have a camera that shows it took them about an hour. read more

They are very prompt and professional. I had a big chunk break off of my expensive granite counter and they repaired it to look seamlessly like new. About 10 months later a small area of the coating chipped away and they gladly came to repair it. I highly recommend them. read more

Very disappointed in the refinishing and surface protection of my counter tops. They were very eager to help upon original contact . No more than 30 days after the service began to notice the same water stains and spots as before . I called, emailed and even shared my concerns several times with Will (point of contact). There has been no follow up and no attempt to honor the "guarantee" for services Terribly disappointed. This was NOT an inexpensive process.. charged me close to $2,000. Beware, these guys will rip you off. They provided a quote but in the end did a fraction of the work. The workman even acknowledged that they were not doing hat the quote said. When the point person came out to inspect, he out right lied to me and said they were doing what was in the quote when it was obvious they were not. They will upsell you saying they will do a bunch of things but never deliver. After dealing with them, I would put them as fraudulent. Be very careful if you are thinking about using them. read more

Two men came to polish my 15 year old dull granite countertops. They arrived at 8am and finished at 2pm. In between these hours they carefully shined and polished away, even filling in, where over time, the granite had subtly chipped. They gave my kitchen the boost I was looking for. I'm so glad I found this company online. The friendly owner came to my house within a day or two and gave me a fair estimate. I'm very happy with the results. read more

NYC Stone Care did perfect work for me. They arrived every day on time and finished the job ahead of schedule. The work included replacing broken limestone floor pavers and repairing deep chips with color match epoxy. Like new ! The floors were then ground and resealed in a satin honed finish. I'm an interior designer, and one of my clients had a brand new coffee table that was sold to us unsealed. The aftermath of a cheeseplate and popocorn left it spotted with oil and fingerprints. They were able to restore it back to looking new, and sealed it. The technician was very nice and protected all the furniture and the rug surrounding the table. It was a little expensive, but worth it. read more

We needed a lot of work in our bathroom and chose NYC Stone Care to do it. They were responsive, provided detailed quotes, and showed up when they said they would. The crew that did the work were prompt, polite, and neat. We had stains on our concrete tile floors, yellowing of our poured cement sink, and tiles in the shower that needed replacing. They provided line item pricing so that I could have all or just pieces of the work done. We chose to do all the work. I have slightly mixed reviews on the work. Fabricio did the tile work in the shower. It looks wonderful, the grout matches the rest of the bathroom. He took his time and went over and beyond what I expected. The crew that did the stain removal did not have the same great results. I saw improvement with the cement tile floors, but little improvement of the yellowing of the sink. This was an expensive project so I expected a huge improvement. They did warn me upfront that the stain removal is not 100% guaranteed but I think they could have told me how much improvement I could realistically expect. I definitely recommend NYC Stone Care for most of my stone work but think I would search around for someone that specializes in concrete in the future. read more
