Great place to take a wine class. I have been twice now one for "16 wines and 8 cheeses" and "Napa vs Bordeaux". The space is great and the classes are both fun and educational. The price is a little higher than most but I think we'll worth it.

I've taken 2 wine classes (wine 101) and I'm already looking to take the Wine 202 class…read more This is my type of wine class because: - It's located near Midtown Manhattan - The instructor is really chill - You are given different games to play which helps you remember the different wines and information about them - There's a variety of wines - There is no spit bucket (so chances are you'll get lit) - It's an open space so you get to meet other wine lovers Both wine classes I've taken have been on Fridays because you do tend to get a wee bit tipsy testing all of the wines. I first learned of the class through Groupon so I suggest looking there first if you are interested in taking a class here but either way if you interested in learning how to differentiate between the age of wines, the percentage of wines and practice your sense of smell (to determine what's in the wine) this place is for you.

We took the WineO 101 class on a Friday night, and boy was it a good time. The teacher and owner of…read morethe company, Mark, was clearly very knowledgeable of his craft, and his love for what he does is apparent. Students of the class are allowed to enter the rooms 10 minutes before the start of the class. The emails they sent out before the class stated that the class starts promptly at the scheduled time. We started about 7 minutes after the scheduled time, which I actually didn't mind because it gave us a chance to talk to our new friends were seated with. We had the chance to listen to Mark talk about wines, taste 5 different wines along with 4 different cheeses and some cured meat, as well as ask Mark questions we had about wine. We also played a few games for a small prize (drawstring bag with the WineO Club logo on it). It was a really fun way to spend a Friday night. The reason for the 4-star review and not a 5 is because Mark spoke wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too fast. My whole group had trouble keeping up with the information he was sharing, and it was a little annoying because we were all there to learn about wines. The class was supposed to be 2 hours long, but start to finish, it was closer to 1.5 hours, so I'm not sure what the rush was. Definitely not a dealbreaker, and I would definitely go back for another class, but I sure do hope they slow it down next time.

I typically enjoy wines that are fruity and sweet from Trader Joe's LOL. Our wine flight contained 3 wines. The portions were generous and the total price + tip came to $34 Service: 5/5 Our bartender was so sweet! We didn't feel intimated at all when looking at the menu. She gave us great recommendations and we ended up going with two wine flights that didn't disappoint! She was super attentive, knowledgable, and made sure to check in on us frequently. Vibe: 5/5 The bar is super cute inside with wine glasses in the background of the bar. We came on a weekday evening and didn't have to wait for a seat at the bar. It's a relaxing envionrment to grab after work drinks or drinks with a friend!

Corkbuzz is a wine bar inside Chelsea Market. While I typically find Chelsea Market a little too crowded and chaotic to be comfortable, my husband and I dropped in specifically for some wine and a snack in the later afternoon on Saturday. The wine bar is comfortable and cool. We grabbed a couple of barstools, ordered 1 wine (a Slovenian wine for me), 2 cocktails (for my husband; he liked the cocktail so much, he ordered a second), and a white bean dip with focaccia bread, that was garlicky and delicious. It was a comfortable place to enjoy a drink and a snack. I'd be happy to stop by again - if it's still open?!

As a past recipient of Murray's cheese gifts via mail, I was super excited to be in the area where…read morethe actual Murray's cheese shop is located. We were in the area doing our own mini pizza tour, and I had to ensure that our route took us by Murray's. I was hoping to get to try some of their in-house made charcuterie or mac & cheese bar, but our indulgence in nearby pizza places unfortunately left us too full to take on anymore. The shop itself is very well laid out with more options than you could ever imagine. The shop stretches back down a few steps and around the corner where they have much more than cheese. They have excellent options to put together at your whole charcuterie of any size here. They even have some premade options in their cold case if you're looking just for a quick snack for one or two people in a nearby park. I did pick up two options when I was in the store and I will say that both were exactly what I had come to expect for Murray's- delicious. Luckily, or unluckily, I'm not in the area otherwise I think a high amount of my money would be going to the shop.

This review is for the pasta making class with cheese tasting. This was my second class at…read moreMurray's. I've also taken many cooking classes at other spots- Taste Buds being my fave. This class just did not need the standards of other classes I've gone to. The reason I gave this 3-stars is because what you get for $100 is just not worth the price, plus the final product was inedible. The class consists of giving you flour and eggs to make the pasta, then roll it (which was super rushed), a "cheese tasting" (three tiny portions of cheese with some pesto) and unlimited wine (sparking white and red). You then bring the pasta home to cook it (with the instructions to use a fork if you haven't had enough time to roll your dough, which some didn't). I made the pasta when I got home and it was completely inedible as was the person's I went with. The instructor was nice and the room is beautiful, which is why I added a few stars. They're also great about making sure that your wine is filled up. Overall, I would not recommend for this price, especially when the end product was a throwaway.
