We pass their Springdale Rd location every week on our way to indoor soccer at Soccer City. I've read lots of folks say it's a top pizza in the city. This past week i had no dinner planned, so I thought I'd check it this place out. It's fine. It's a step above Papa John's or Dominoes. It's not top level pizza, but you won't be disappointed. Here's why. We ordered a large pepperoni, garlic bread and large house salad. The salad was a good value, but disappointing. First, this place seems like a spot that would have some good house dressings. Instead we got two tin foil Marzeeti ranch cups akin to what our local jail population is served. The lettuce is just bagged shredded iceberg. Hard pass on this next time. The garlic bread is their hoagie bun, lightly coasted with some garlic spread. It's pretty blah, but only $2.50. It came with a cup of marinara, which was good for dipping. The pizza. Ah, the pizza. The dough is fantastic. It's thin, it's chewy, it's lightly charred. It's the best part of the pizza, as it should be. The sauce, toppings and cheese are there, the quantity sufficient, the quality OK, but all together just average. Granted we just got the pepperoni, so some of their other toppings might elevate their pizza. In summary I think the hype behind this place is grounded in the usual insular west siders protecting and promoting one of their own. Overall im not unhappy for trying this place out, just not hyped to try it again. read more

This is our 'go to' pizza and wing place. I love the garlic parmesan wings. The pizza are the best. Hubby normally gets heartburn from pizza sauce but not theirs. And the crust is perfect. The staff is always friendly. Definitely recommend read more

I really wanted this to be excellent...there were some elements that were spot on and others...Well not so much. I read reviews after I placed my order and I'm happy to report I had plenty of sauce and it was not soaked in grease. So bonus!! The staff are doing something right since the more stated quality control issues seemed to not be a problem tonight. So kudos to the kitchen. I did order Door-Dash so I can't speak for the vibe of the actual restaurant but as a frequent flyer in the northeast I can give some honest feedback. The hoagie roll was fantastic!! The bread gave me that northern feel of a bakery roll vs a bun. The crust had a just a little bit of chew - this is a northern thing. Bread in New York and New Jersey is different and has a little bit of a chew and they use different flour. I'd imagine some of that is at play here. The icing for the cinnamon bites actually tasted like buttercream not the sticky runny stuff. The cheese stick bites were fine. I liked them better than mozzarella sticks but it fell a little flat with the cold sauce. The one thing that could have moved up my rating was the steak patty. It needs to be a little better quality and I'd be totally ok with a price increase. For the quality of that roll it needs better meat! Overall it was mid! I would definitely be willing to try something different but would probably eat in next time!! read more

Food is good when you fix it to your liking make sure if you like your food well done to ask for they will accommodate you service is a little slow on the delivery side, but you can say that is due to high demand. There is really no ambience besides the area that is in, but it is still a nice place to eat. read more

We love this pizza place. It's probably our favorite. The best part is their mega deal where you get a 2 topping large pizza, night sticks and 2 hoagies. It's only 25.99 and feeds us for multiple meals. Such a good deal! The food is always delicious and fresh. You can get it quickly and you just can't beat the deal! Stopped by here just before 11 pm on a Saturday. No takeout, so I got delivery. One large pineapple pizza. The pizza arrived and it was delicious. It came with garlic and butter dipping sauces. I would say this is kind of like a local pizza chain option. Papa John's, Dominos, etc. read more

Where to start... If you've never been to NY city.. don't be fooled here. this is NOT New York pizza.. not by a long shot. I ordered the Mega deal.. which seems like a pretty good deal. You get an XL Pizza with 2 toppings, Breadsticks with cheese and 2 Hoagies... But once you receive the food, then you understand why they can sell it for so cheap. let's start with the pizza.. The dough is flavorless.. and I mean zero taste. it's one of those doughs where you hope the rest of the toppings make you forget all about the part that's holding it all together. Cheese.. well.. it's not a 100% cheese that's for sure.. it's WAY to greasy to be and it has an almost rubbery squeaky texture to it. The sauce is okay.. its the best part about the pizza but even it could use more spices and texture. Also NY pizza comes cut like a pie.. not in squares.. The hoagies were nothing but mush.. it's pretty much a cheap version of a JTM patty... and the mushroom sauce nothing but a flavor packet mixed with some gelatin like stuff.. it's pretty much all imitation products. The bread sticks is pretty much a small pizza.. same everything.. only way to give it flavor is to drowned it in the butter sauce that's on the side. I really wanted this place to be good because their isn't many REALLY good Mom and Pop pizza places in Cincinnati.. it's all half a$$ chains with a crap product.. it just blows my mind that someone can just slap NY on a logo and claim to be NY style pizza.. read more

I've been coming here for at least 5 years. The main dude there knows who I am and often asks me how my job is. Even though I only order a couple times a month at most, it's nice that I don't feel like just another wallet at times. So lets talk about the food here. First, obviously this is a pizza place, so we'll talk about the pizza. The sauce is more of a garlicky sweet sauce. The toppings and cheese are all pretty standard fare for a non gourmet pizza place. Nothing to complain about. I have noticed that the larger size pizza you get the better it tastes. Perhaps it's just my imagination. The prices for pizza here are competitive with the other big names in the industry. The extra large double pepperoni is only ~11-12$ and feeds 4-5 hungry adults. Second, let's talk about the sandwiches. NYPDs subs and hoagies make other pizza places taste like bland subway sandwiches. Even larosas can't hold a candle to the Italian sub here. The subs are super messy to eat, but to me its a good thing. They give you all the vegetables in a nice side bag so you can decide for yourself if you want the fixins. The wings and cheesesticks aren't anything to write home about here. They aren't bad but they aren't great either. They compare to pizza hut wings in quality. Cheesesticks are hard to screw up. Overall NYPD is a good small pizza place to carry out from in the Colerain or White Oak area. Don't come here expecting Deweys or some other gourmet pizza and you'll likely end up enjoying the food. read more

I have been ordering pizzas from nypd for about 12 years now. I love the food and the cheese is always generous. They run great specials that make pizza night affordable for everyone. The thing that has made me stick with NYPD the most is the great customer service skills. I was evoked to write this good review after I visited another pizza chain that treated us poorly. At NYPD you are always treated in a friendly manner. In fact I can't remember making a complaint but if I did I know there would be no problem whatsoever the problem would be addressed. The person answering the phone is always polite and willing to answer any questions. I had pizza delivered in a snow flurry once and felt bad but the delivery man was so kind and understanding. The person answering the phone is very hard to understand, and he doesn't understand me. The phone itself has static and the call breaks up. Each time I call it's the same. I tried ordering online, and my order was not processed. After 1 hour I called to see how much longer and was told they didn't have my order. I shouldn't even rate this place, but they make me. So where do I start. This is the second time we ordered and both times were less than stellar. Took them an additional 15 minutes to deliver (okay you had a busy night). We ordered online we didn't get a confirmation, so we called at the 45 minute mark asking if they received the order. The girl that answers is rude as ever said yea we are coming your way. So he gets here a little over an hour and my calzone should have been mushrooms and cheese and they gave me spinach, peppers, and tomatoes. So I call Mike the son he said "well I guess we could swing by with your right order, but we are busy tonight so it's not my staff's fault they can't get orders correct and that the timing is off." You run a business tell me an hour and then okay, but after your time is not cool. I probably would haven been okay with timing if my order was correct. When my order wasn't correct I called to complain he wanted to give me a credit. I'm never eating there again he had to call his daddy (the owner) to find out what to do. The worst place ever! I went to the website to order. It tells me "The billing address does not match the billing address on the credit card. Please ensure the billing address is accurate before retrying the transaction. (Z)" What it does not tell you is it will place an authorization on your card. Well it placed 5 authorizations of $33.50 on my account. I called and the person on the phone told me it is caused by my zip code not matching. The interesting part is I have lived at the same address for 7 YEARS and I regularly order merchandise online. I think I know my zip code. I looked at my account information and the only thing that could have caused it was my account has Ln instead of Lane and that is due to the post office standardizing of addresses. Their interface is bad and really should be updated. However, she told me the authorizations will fall off Monday. I am hoping the $167.50 will be back in my account Monday. If not I will be calling the bank to dispute the charges since I never got to place an order. I think you need to add a disclosure that it will charge your card an authorization anyway.
