Have eaten here 3 or 4 times in the past few months, usually on Fri or Sat for the prime rib special, which we got this time as well. I had a bowl of potato soup, then prime rib with mushrooms as a side and a tossed salad. Everything tasted great including the prime rib which was a nice piece with hardly any fat. Our server's name was Danielle and she was fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We were there on a Friday before it got crowded, so it wasn't noisy. This sports bar and grill on Cincy's west side, just a couple minutes off of Colerain Ave, is the perfect spot to grab a nice meal and wet your whistle before the big game. The place is very clean and the staff, friendly. They offer daily specials as well as happy hour discounted drinks and appetizers. One thing I like about this bar is they have a large menu selection-it even contains pictures of many of their items so you know exactly what you'll be getting. On this day, I got the Buffalo chicken sammie. They let you substitute your side dish if you don't want fries which I did because the sautéed button mushrooms they serve are simply heaven in a dish! So buttery and savory with a dash of black pepper it's by-far my favorite. Can't forget about the chicken breast though it was mighty large, juicy and grilled to perfection. Can't wait to try their other dishes if the sandwich is any indication of the quality. Give this place a look if you're in the area. They have plenty of seating for groups large and small. read more

I decided to check this spot out after a recommendation from a co-worker, and I have to say I'm glad I took his advice. It's a really good spot! It's a sports bar atmosphere without the cluttered and obnoxious feel. Much more laid back overall. Their menu has a plethora of options from sandwiches, flatbreads, chicken wings, burgers, salads, and much more. Their draft beer selection is really nice too with more in bottles and cans. I stopped by for lunch and sat at the bar where I was immediately greeted by a friendly bartender. She was very informative and answered any questions I had about the menu. After perusing the menu for a bit, I opted for the stuffed burger (stuffing changes frequently, but was mac & cheese for this round) and their beer battered fries. My order came out pretty quickly and looked great. The burger was BIG and it was tough to take the first bite, but after that, it got easier. Very tasty too! So were the fries! The beer batter made a big difference! I'll admit I don't frequent this area too often, but I might give this place a revisit next time I'm there. Really good place! Never been here before less then 20 min away from home we rec'd a gift card from a motorcycle ride door prize so we decided to use it and omg I'm glad we did! My husband and i ordered the daily combo i went with the goetta Ruben and he went with the chicken gyro and onion rings so surprised on how good the food was after seeing the reviews, but we had a great experience with bartender and food will definitely back again! Others that gave reviews complained about tables parking etc, but never once the points that matter, food, service, quality of experience......find something else to complain about!!! read more

I've always been a fan of Barnesburg - it's the perfect stop for a casual dinner and a few drinks. I've only ever sat in the bar side of the restaurant, but they do have traditional table/booth seating on the opposite side of the bar. The draft beer selection never disappoints and they always have cocktail specials for different days of the week. Servers are always attentive and I haven't had a bad experience yet with any servers or bartenders at Barnesburg. A few years ago, they took the buffalo chicken flatbread off of their menu, which made me SO sad because it was honestly one of the best flatbreads I've ever had (they still have other flatbreads available which all look good). At my most recent visit, I mentioned this buffalo chicken flatbread to our server and she told me the kitchen could still make it for me! I was super happy and ordered that with a side of fries (the fries are the beer-battered, extra crispy type and are some of my favorites). The menu has items from bar food to traditional dinner food and there is something for everyone. Love this little hole-in-the-wall joint! read more

I have been to Barnesburg three time and every time I have enjoyed my visit. First, they have friendly smokin' hot bartenders, a great selection of beer and my favorite Rib Eye sandwich. The most recent visit I got the sandwich and the cut was easily 8 oz. Delicious, nutritious and good for ME!! The wings here are also excellent. It was very unfortunate that we had such a crummy experience because we have heard nothing but good things and thought we would give it a try. After being seated and waiting 15 mins we finally had service and got our drinks. We ordered appetizers and our food at the same time. Our appetizers came out along with a house salad which was a side for one of our meals. Unfortunately we were not given utensils to eat with and hoped our waitress would see us trying to get her attention. She finally came over and noticed we didn't have any utensils and said she would bring some right back, another 10 mins passed before she was bringing refills when she remembered we didn't have anything to eat with. Then our food comes and 2 dishes were great, my salad on the other hand had everything on it, even after making sure 2 times that she had it down as no tomato's. With everything else that had happened earlier, I just ate the chicken off my salad and not the actual salad. I agree with Sara P's opinion of Barnesburg being a great combo barstaurant. The dining room in the far back is fairly isolated from the loudness and busyness of the main bar area. This makes conversation, especially for those with with hearing difficulties, much easier and enjoyable. The server we had was super perky and attentive. She was quick with our food and refilled my glass many times. I also had a Magners Cider which paired well with my Pizza Pizza dillas (cheesy awesomeness) and Veggie Burger with fries (okay, not the best veggie burger I've had). There are lots of drink specials. There is a random wifi network or two that you can use. TV's are visible from all angles. The parking lot can be a little crowded and there are a few spots that are for the NYPD Pizza, so pay attention and don't park in those. Was here a long time ago. We stopped in for a quick drink while waiting for friends and moving on. Sat a side table and sat and sat. The straight blonde hair bartender even looked over at us, but she was more interested in flirting with 2 at the bar that I would guess are regulars. The bar was full and it appeared servers were going around. Wife went to the bathroom and came back. Only then did another bartender come over that had been attending a problematic beer tap. She asked if we had been helped and apologized. Then said usually people that sit there are waiting for the restaurant. I guess those waiters don't get drinks. Almost left. Have a good see selection of craft beers on tap and prices seemed inline. Interesting even the ones that appeared to be mgmt. Did not interact. They never came back to collect bill either. Whoever is cooking in the kitchen obviously has mental issues. My mom, my son, and I dined in today for our first time a little after 4pm. My son wanted a kids pizza but without cheese, so we asked if we could order that. The server told us we could then she put our order in. Not even 5 minutes later, we hear from the cook in the kitchen literally screaming "NO CHEESE? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?" then it sounded like he threw a dish or two because we heard a loud crash right after! Apparently the pizza is frozen which is kinda odd and being our first time here, we had no idea. so obviously my son ordered something else. For a cook to get that angry and act like a psychotic moron about a small modification on an order baffles and disgusts me. I mean he obviously knew a child was present and could hear his tantrum in the dining room. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and anywhere I worked at, the cook would be fired immediately for acting that way. Definitely wont be eating here ever again. We have been looking for a local bar that has a good atmosphere but also decent food. I think we have found it! We came on a Tuesday night but there was still a decent crowd and the right amount of staff. Unfortunately they were out of Blue Moon but there were plenty of other beers on tap. I wish they offered a flight bc they have a lot of different crafts on draft. The menu looks great- there is a wide range of non bar food. They had happy hour special on appetizers but I'm not sure what exactly that meant. I had the daily special which was blackened mahi mahi with 2 sides. I chose salad and rice pilaf. Salad was great- I think the ranch dressing was made in house. The fish was really good. The rice was not very well seasoned and undercooked. I would not order the rice again. My husband ordered beer battered cod with chips. Holy cow! It was huge! Served with coleslaw. The slaw was good and his fish was good (greasy but that's to be expected). All and all really glad we came here and I'm sure I will be back to try the bison burger, meatloaf and some other menu items. Presently surprised to find non fried options on the menu. read more

We've been going to Barnesburg for years, the food is good and they have a decent beer list. However, our last experience was so awful that we will never be back. Ordered a German Pilsner and was brought an IPA, which is a HUGELY different beer. It turns out they had just run out of the Pilsner and subbed the IPA. The waitress (who was absolutely wonderful) said she'd be happy to switch it out with another beer. The owner told her no, she was not allowed to give us a different beer after she had already taken the IPA back to the bar. And he was so chickenshit that he made the poor waitress come tell us instead of coming out to tell us himself like a grownup. She actually offered to pay for a new beer out of her own pocket because she cared more about taking care of us as customers than the owner did. Very disappointed. read more
