Went here 30 minutes before closing (lol shame on me) and was surprised they still had inventory. The place was small and parking was decent. When reading reviews I was told to get the spicy chicken and potato wedges. Unfortunately the gentleman in front of me ordered all the spicy so I had to go with regular. I ordered the 10 piece dinner meal with wedges and mac and cheese. The chicken was decent! I popped it in the air fryer, sprinkled some cayenne and was pretty pleased by the chicken. The meat was not dry and the flavors were mellow. The potato wedges were great! It was breaded the same way as the chicken. A regular comes with 4 pieces and the large comes with 12. To be fair, most of the wedges are pretty huge. The mac and cheese: Disappointing. It was Stouffer's. Overall it was a decent experience. The staff was kind and communicated well with each other. I definitely want to try the spicy chicken next time and will definitely arrive at an earlier time. read more

Haven't had Richie's and forever and I'm glad not too much has changed The service was nice and timely and the food was very fresh. I order the party wings with cornbread and was not disappointed. I also ordered the pink lemonade and that's where my disappointment came from it doesn't taste the same it tastes like it's more watered down now. Tonight was in the mood for spicy wings, but not the kind with sauce from other wing chains. Have had several great experiences with Richie's chicken (normally get 2 breasts) but while the flavor was there tonight, the quality of the wings was sub-par. Cornbread and beans fabulous as always. But not only were the wings small with minimal amount of meat on the wing they were also quite cold compared to the cornbread and beans in the box. I give 4 stars for the flavor of the spices in the breading and sides. In the future I will stick with the chicken breasts! read more

Ordered food for my closing manager and employee. Received the end of the pot. Nothing in this order is correct & this so called red beans & rice is ridiculous! You can tell the grease needs to be changed, my chicken is extremely extremely dark and looks very dried out. I contacted the restaurant tonight at 10:30pm on 1/16 & a female Hispanic ask for my name of the order put me on hold for 6mins & hung up on me. Definitely shows the poor professionalism of this company and why your stores shut down now. read more

This place is definitely a must try and stop by every time I'm near one. Food was on point my only suggestion is they need a spicy wing or chicken if they had it I didn't see it or read it on the menu. they had a nice variety of food. The service was good for where it was at. I was greeted by the workers and told thank you have a nice day. The location I was at the ambience was ok, wasn't a Family sit down restaurant. definitely an order to go place. The area didn't look too safe. I really do enjoy Richie's! It's always fresh and tasty. I usually get fried fish or spicy wings with sides that I switch around a little. The peach cobbler isn't anything fancy but the the crust is flaky and the peaches are sweet and soft. It's a go to for me. They have condensed their menu over the years and recently had a menu update for some of the combo meals. Service is pleasant but they could work on the speed and organization. read more

Best fried chicken in Cincinnati in my opinion. The potato planks are huge and delicious. The greens are just right. The fried okra is outstanding. The yellow, sweet cornbread is tasty, but cut a little too small for me. I haven't tried all their sides, but the ones I have tried are a bit too sweet for my taste. Also haven't had their fish yet. The chicken has great flavor but the stars of the show are the potato wedges. I used to make trips here just for the wedges that's how good they are - they are huge and cheap and the flavor is crispy with some spice! They offer banana pudding cookies as a dessert option from Davis cookie company - these are the bomb dot com ! Perfect for when you are craving her cookies but this one isn't on the menu that week! I need to be honest, I don't even like potato wedges. Most of the time they look delicious but don't taste like much. But Richie's potato wedges are what all other potato wedges promise but never deliver in terms of flavor. I live in Kentucky but I keep driving up here for potato wedges. The chicken is good too and the spicy has a nice heat to it. The green beans are delicious and I like that if you order online you can get your okra cooked hard. If you like a sweet corn bread, you're in luck because theirs is perfection. I need to work my way through the rest of the menu because there are a lot of side options to choose from. read more

It's not that good. The chicken is decent and I like that it comes spicy. Well seasoned chicken but the sides are horrible. I don't understand how anyone eats them. Yams sweet with no flavor, greens/ green beans not seasoned. The Mac is complete trash. I saw this place on Facebook, so I drove up to check it out. It's a cool spot for Chicken and sides. I'm from Nashville TN (Home of HOT Chicken) so my review is definitely bias. I have to say the chicken is delicious here!! It takes a long time to receive it but it's worth the wait. The sides, however are a different story. The collards are sweet , watery and way under seasoned. The Mac n cheese is just not good. The corn bread is extremely dry and the red beans and rice was undercooked and the rice was hard. Richie's was a cajun restaurant that focuses on fried chicken that I found in Colerain (I think Richie's is a chain but this is the only location I've found). The restaurant is a little rough around the edges from a visual standpoint but the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We got a 10 piece family meal which came with 2 large sides along with rolls and cornbread. The chicken was juicy and had the best breading that I've ever had. So much flavour and so crispy it's the best fried chicken I've ever had which is saying something because I've had lots of it from a lot of different places over the years. The mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy were above average and their cornbread was really good. Their dinner rolls were kind of lackluster however. The price point was very reasonable for what it was and considering how good that fried chicken was I give a very high recommendation to Richie's Chicken. read more

Stopped by here for the first time. Ordered online for pickup. I was about 15 minutes late, but since they don't scoop the chicken until you're there then it wasn't cold at all! The chicken was delicious! Way better than KFC, and the spicy had a nice little kick to it! Staff was friendly. The building is kind of unassuming, but the food was delicious. Corn bread was moist, and my wife loved the baked beans. Plus, it's really good portions for the price. A $7 meal was plenty for me to eat dinner and save half for lunch. When we get a craving for fried chicken, richies is def our new go to! read more

Everyone loves Richie's!! The food is great and they are always busy but the staff does an excellent job keeping up with demand.

Didn't get pictures but, we got the 2 pieces of fish with two sides and cornbread. The potato wedges were sent from heaven, the fish was perfectly seasoned and crispy. Cornbread sweet and moist just like it should be! I added the Texas Pete hot sauce which is my favorite. I have mentioned how good it was to everyone I've talked to since eating it. read more

I had gone before and had a pleasant experience. I returned at night and it was literally like night and day, the place was packed and they were filling orders like no one was there, extra slow. When they got to me I noticed the manager a female actually plucking the feathers off my chicken, right in front of me, on all pieces. They called my number and I just stood at the register, she said are you 83, I said you know I am and that I'm not taking that chicken you just plucked feather off or any other, your not washing your meat, that's a lot of feather on multiple piece. Just like mom used to make! Or grandma in this case. The best go to soul food chain in the city. I have no complaints. All the sides are vegetarian and no meat is added. I've only recently discovered Richies (Last few years) but I KEEP coming back if that's a sign of how good they are. I had a friend visiting from the Deep South in town and this was the best we could get him with the time we had. He gave the stamp of approval as well. The line moved quickly.
