There website says 2 for Tuesdays buy any specialty pie get a cheese pie of the same size for free. No disclaimers about participating locations. When I picked up no free pizza. I spoke to the owner and he said no that location doesn't do that the Orlando location does. I pointed at a print out above there register that says 2 for Tuesday and he said yeah that's a print out from Orlando location. Sorry, we tried. We went excited to try their food and ended up leaving. We are more difficult than most people as I am a vegetarian and my wife must have gluten free. So, their GF pizzas are $5.00 on top of the pizza prices. That makes a lunch pizza around $15-16. So, no deal there. We usually LOvE Lentil soup and they put meat in it. Not necessary and usually the meat flavor takes over. I would have ordered that with a something, but the meat... As we felt the lunch prices for GF were high, we left and found Gio's around the corner. Really sorry about that NYPD. You lost 2 sales, not just 1. Coming from NY I was expecting NYC taste. I was not disappointed! The pizza tasted pretty comparable to NYC pizza. The wings were very good too. The sweet and tangy sauce reminded me of how much I miss the NFL season. One small pizza was enough to share between two people. We did have the garlic nuggets since everyone raved about those. They were good but the marinara sauce could have been a little sweeter. It was on the salty and acidic side, which I know some people may prefer. read more

No horrible and not the best. Decent pizza at a decent price. The overall ratings leave it at a 3.5 stars which is accurate to me based on my one visit. The slice I ordered came with a small salad and was chicken and bacon. They advertise as NY style and it was a decent slice for sure. Service was friendly and attentive. Although my friends order was messed up. It's a clean restaurant with an outdoor and indoor dining space. Cute posters tell you how to eat a NY slice of pizza. Plenty of parking. I get it, I'm from New York and spoiled when it comes to pizza. It I also do not have high expectations with pizza in Florida. The pizza was as expected.... Mediocre at best but that wasn't even the issue. I ordered a large grilled chicken Caesar salad with warm chicken. What I got was the saddest excuse for a salad I've ever seen. The chicken was like they sliced the dried edges off the chicken to throw away but mistakenly added to this salad. I don't normally even write bad reviews so I didn't bother to take pictures, but I decided to write one with the hope that the owners see this and make sure the next person that orders a salad doesn't get ripped off because $14 for that dry chicken jerky salad was just robbery!! read more

After an experience where my husband placed an order with a local pizza place, and they took our order but were closed with lights off when he arrived to pick up our order, he will never use that place again. We were meeting friends and bringing pizza. I drove 30 minutes to NYPD Pizza. We got three pizzas. One cheese, one pepperoni, one gluten free pepperoni. Our friends raved. The pizza was delicious. When I placed my order I told them my daughter had a gluten allergy and asked if the people making her pizza could change their gloves. The haters are always going to hate... and I am sure they are miserable people, and that's why they feel the need to complain. It's pizza so come on, if you want "New York pizza" then GO TO NEW YORK! Besides, there are terrible NY pizza joints in NY too, so saying "I was expecting pizza like NY" is LAME! The service was superb and that is what you should look for at any restaurant. My family sat outside being that we take our dog on road trips. I have been coast to coast up and down the west and east, and the staff was some of the most friendliest I have encountered. They were attentive and without asking, they brought my dog water and asked if she could have some grilled chicken breast without charging us ether. Been eating at NYPD roughly twice a month for fourteen years. It has always been our go to pizza place. A couple of weeks ago we ate there and were disappointed in the pie. It was flavorless, undercooked and just not up to par. So we decided to come back again in a couple of weeks to confirm. We ordered our typical medium all black olive and half pepperoni, and asked for a little extra oven time. The cooking was perfect, however, the pie is just not as good they used to be. First, the sauce is lacking flavor,it's just bland. There is plenty of it, enough to make it gloppy. Additionally it has not been run out anywhere near to the edge. The pepperoni and olives are just fine, but that's pretty hard to mess up. At one point they were using sandwich size pepperoni which is just plain wrong. But they switched back. The cheese is ok except that it is also held way back from the edge at least a good inch. Sure, that's a great way to cut back on ingredients at the expense of the product. But even the cheese doesn't seem up to par any longer. The crust is just ok, but it used to be excellent particularly when it was just out of the oven. So now our search will commence to find a really tasty pizza nearby. We find Marcos is pretty good for a takeout pizza and Pizanos is leading for sit down, but they are normally quite busy. Flippers make a good pie occasionally but is inconsistent. I suggest that somebody review all ingredients and process to determine what has changed. read more

Also the pepperoni was few and far between and the outer crust was a little too well done in spots (BLACK). NYPD pizza is worth checking out. My spouse and I decided to visit to test out their pizza and such because I hadn't heard anything, good or bad, about their pizza and was curious. Atmosphere Typical pizza spot, but high isn't a bad thing. Plenty of space. Booths and tables and enough space to have a private meal. Staff greeted us upon entry probably because we were looking for a sign that said "seat yourself" or "please wait to be seated". It is a seat yourself location but staff stepped out of the kitchen quickly to let us know also. Service Staff was quick to reach us for our drink order. We decided to try multiple items. Our drink order arrived quickly AND our waitress was present the entire experience. This is important because there's a fine line between being present and being a bother because you're just going through the motions. Our server was great. What we ordered: Boneless chicken wings Fried ravioli Meatball sub Stromboli (chicken bacon ranch I think) And a specialty pizza for dinner to go. Spouse really liked the REAL chicken wings. Sad when someone has to be impressed when real chicken is used. Flavor and sauces were great. Fried ravioli. Cheese ravioli. Not greasy. Not over fried (or fried in old oil). Cheese raviolis that were tasty and plentiful. Marinara sauce. I wouldn't normally itemize the experience like this but I feel I would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention the sauce. The marinara sauce was flavorful and tasted homemade. Some places either go the cheap route and just use tomato sauce or they buy/use premade sauce. If this sauce is a proprietary/mass produced NYPD sauce, they actually care about flavor and quality because the flavor was great! Stromboli. Great flavor. Not greasy. Not overstuffed with filling nor was the crust overly thick. It was cooked perfect and very flavorful. Meatball sub. Other than hotter than the face of the sun (the sauce stayed very hot so don't be like me and try to dive straight into devouring it) hahaha it was very good. I don't think the meatballs were homemade, not that it needs to be if it has flavor and it had flavor. The sesame sub role was toasted which was good because the sauce would've made the roll mushy and I can't stand mushy. The same flavorful sauce was used on/in the sub. Overall I would order it again for sure. To-go pizza. The specialty pizza we ordered to take away with us had mozzarella cheese, red sauce, fresh garlic, caramelized onions. Flavor: one of the best pizzas I've had in the area. Fresh garlic and caramelized onions kept the flavor throughout. Crust. Very important to me. I'm not a fan of thick crust or pan pizza because they are usually all filler and no thriller. This crust was great. The pizza was cooked perfectly and I ate all my crust, which means it wasn't too thick at the top and had good flavor. Cost. Appropriate for the quality of every product we ordered. We were both surprised that the cost wasn't more with everything we ordered. I highly recommend stopping in for some delicious pie or sub sandwich. Word of caution: the pizza we ordered was a large. This was not a typical large that one would receive from a pizza joint. It's a NY large and is too large to stick the box in the oven because the oven door won't close. It wouldn't fit into the fridge either. That's a great problem to have. Go visit and enjoy a great meal with attentive servers and great atmosphere. Cannot recommend this place strongly enough. Had a visit today for lunch with my wife, we always get their lunch special, well it ends at 4 is what we are use to the waitress stated 3 , all the menus and placards say 4 ! We asked for the manager, he was not working today, the waitress took it personal though and got smart with my wife, I don't get excited, so I listened, this waitress took everything personal, told us to have a nice fucking day , I waited for the receipt, never came back so I went in for it, the waitress started ranting again, I said just give me the receipt , she tried to explain , I said miss we were not angry until you told us have a nice fucking day, that's where you made a big mistake , let alone argue with a customer that comes in 2-3 times a week, I managed an original Pizza Hut back when people waited in line to get in, I never argued I usually compted the entire meal just to keep my customer happy. I never had a customer I couldn't make happy, however , I believe in great service to keep a customer, I know how much it costs to make a pizza , 3.00 todays prices, including toppings, That pales in comparison to the amount of money spent to gain 1 customer... Quite possibly customers do not matter to them, they are doing so well. I would fire a waitress telling my customer to have a nice fucking day, guess she was mad I kept my cool, but I wasn't there for poor service it was that we felt doupdd on the special... what was not a problem escalated by a waitress that wasn't very concerned other than swearing at us.... She needs a new career path because she caused the grief... we are allowed to ask for a manager... We are allowed expected specials than it written on a chalk board. Customers have rights, her mouth abused us, I frankly told her I was a general manager and would fire her on the spot, We will not be returning ever! I was really expecting this to taste like NY Pizza because of the name of the NYOD pizza, but it wasn't anything close to it. Their sausage was just plain gross. It's not often I use the word "gross" but this one deserves it. Usually If give a place another chance but it was such a disappointment and there are so many other choices so this one is marked off of my list. I can't say enough about NYPD Pizza( The Villages) and especially Soren! I called to say that my car battery had died at Publix when I was on my way to pick my pizza and that I wasn't sure if I would get there to pick it up before they closed. Soren not only volunteered to bring me my pizza but showed up with jumper cables and saved the day. Soren is my angel of the new year! So we ate at a "new to us" Pizzaria tonight "The NYPD Pizza Delicatessen". Their pizzas are larger than average and the cheese was so buttery and delicious. The pizza was fantastic. Plus we actually only came here because we heard they had cauliflower crust and I'm diabetic but they sold out before we got there at 6. HOWEVER, we had an absolutely terrible waiter. We had to go find him (William R) to place our order after waiting about 15 minutes or more, then he never checked on us period and we had to find him to get us something we needed. Then we had to ask a worker to get us a pizza box which she did promptly. Then we had to get his attention to get our bill so we could go after waiting another 15ish minutes. All the other workers (female) were running around helping everyone like crazy because they were busy, but we ended up with the only person that couldn't handle his job which was a pain and that's why I can't give it a 5 star review‍ Other than him, everything was good. read more

First time here, ordered take out Greek salad, I ordered over the phone they said it would be ready is already done so I guess I pre-make these ready to go I'm sure it's a popular takeout choice on the menu. Came with plenty of lettuce some red onion olives tomato and feta cheese, would like to have had a little bit more feta cheese than what was on the salad and tomatoes were mealy, but overall the taste of the dressing and the salad was good. Okay... pizza is not usually my first choice. I get tired of pizza very quickly so when Hubbs suggested NYPD, I hesitantly agreed. Oh! my! gosh! This is pizza heaven. Listen to the excitement in my typing! They have crazy deals at lunch where you get two slices and a drink for a mere $6 - yep a measly SIX buckaroos. The slices are huge and you can even swap out a slice for a soup or salad and yes the $6 is still $6. The only time it changes is if you add a topping - both hubbs and I did. I ordered the daily special which was called Madison Square Garden. I'm including this as I want to remember it for next time, it's my new favorite. Super thin CRISPY crust with mounds of big chunky artichoke hearts, lots of lovely leafy spinach, tiny tomatoes, I added cheese and there was garlic - plenty of my favorite herb. Seriously, I would put garlic on my corn flakes if I could get away with it. Hubb ordered the pepperoni and added jalapeños. He was equally as impressed and we are feelin full n' sassy now. I love the pizza here although it is a bit pricey TO ME. The lunch special with the 2 slices & a drink is actually a pretty good deal. My new fave is the cauliflower pizza . It's so yummy but small for the price. The staff is pretty friendly as well. If this place wasn't so pricey I'd give them 5 stars. The cauliflower pizza is what I consider to be a small & is $12.84 after taxes if you have 1 topping. I'm really big on service an I've never had a bad experience here. This pizza is pretty good, not the best I've ever had, but one of the best in The Villages. Sadly there not a lot of great pizza places around here. French fries can be yummy, but it depends on how much seasoning salt the sprinkle them with. Sometimes they overdo it and they are too salty to eat (this is from someone who salts everything! LOL). Idk, I feel the name is misleading. I had NYC expectations. I wanted to go straight to the counter, see the pizza, order my slices, and sit down without fuss. Nope, not the case here. The counter is all hidden and weird and nonexistent really. You can't see the pizzas from which to select. And you are accosted by a server insisting on you sitting and being served. You know, there are plenty of times you don't want that and prefer a simple, anonymous experience instead, especially when you are craving some quick pizza. I'd have gladly thrown money in a tip jar regardless. I don't think I'd return because I either want go to the counter for a simple experience, which this is not, or I want sit down proper service, which this place is too casual for.
