The person who assessed the roof stated my roof was in good condition, but the garage roof needed to be replaced. I was told that I would have the report in 1-2 hours. One to two hours turned into my being told that the report would be produced in the evening, as the assessor was out on other jobs. He texted me later and stated that he spoke to his boss, and they would not be able to help me because they are too busy with full roofing jobs that they'd be unable to take on any small projects like a garage. He offered me the number of someone else he said was cheaper. When I asked if that person would honor their report, he told me that they would not provide the report because they are declining to do the job. He also never sent the information for the other roofer. I found someone else who was baffled by my experience and provided a report in minutes; also, he said my garage roof had another 5-6 years of life on it. Go figure!

Performed a Kitchen remodel. -threatened to sue us if we did…read morenot pay in full - we attempted to deduct money for damages he caused and parts of the project that were not completed. We were so distraught over the whole situation we caved just to be done with him. The final bill was $4000 over the quote, we were only told about $1000 extra for electrical at the beginning of the project. This did not include costs of materials I paid for separately (back splash - handles, etc all were part of the quote) -did not hear from him for 8 days after giving him a deposit and he still had not met with the cabinet people. Poor communication throughout the project. -poor work ethic did not show up when he said he would 95% of the time and did not complete projects as he said he would -He did not complete our project in full even though we paid him in full - I have him on video stating he would finish -damaged personal property and did not take responsibility -damaged new SS kitchen sink and did not take responsibility -complete lack of respect for us, our home, our cats -Had to remove the two-piece ceiling in the storage room below the kitchen to access pipes and electrical - he did not tell us this and when that came down so did a bunch of dirt and debris, which he did not clean up, had he told us we could have taken half an hour to empty the room and avoided the mess and the damage to items stored in there. -The ceiling in the storage room was never replaced properly, there was a joiner that went between the 2 pieces and it was never put back, so now there is a big gap in the ceiling. -damaged new kitchen floor and thought it was a favor to us to fix it -No work helper as he claimed at discussion and quoting of project, my husband had to help him unload cabinets and more than once to put up cabinets, unacceptable. -there were chips on nearly every cabinet because again no helper to install he complained he had to purchase special "tools" to help hold the cabinets in place because he was working alone. -the chips were pointed out to him, and he covered them with some kind of compound that has come off as I've wiped them down using water with everyday cleaning. -I asked twice about the size of our existing pantry and installation of a new one would it need to be 2 pieces; he kept saying no, it will be all one piece and it was, couldn't get it in the house!! Had to cut about 5 inches off the bottom, but said not to worry he would wedge it up to the ceiling and the base Moulding would cover the gap, that did not work, he ended up having it on the floor which left a 5" gap at the ceiling, he put a piece of wood in and then primed it, went to paint store to get white paint to match - it didn't! So now I have this with "strip around that cabinet. -the 5" spacer he put between the kitchen wall and cabinet he left wide open at the bottom, being that wall and back wall are outside walls there is a huge draft that comes in made the kitchen a good 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house. That could have been sealed off. -Damaged new quartz countertop by wiping with dirty sponge he used on backsplash install, resulted in the countertop company having to come out and "fix" it, we were instructed at installation, in his presence, specifically how to clean it. It didn't work and he was going to use a product they completely did NOT recommend to ever use, the gentleman who came out explained to ME why. Had we allowed him to clean them he would have made the problem worse. At this point he had developed an attitude with me and my husband had to step in. The last week and half he had such a bad attitude he no longer cared about doing quality work. -He is not a skilled contractor, he's a Mr. fix-it and just because he says he can do something doesn't mean he can, he doesn't think through his multitude of suggestions! -He is a loud person, he talks over you and convinces you HIS IDEAS are best -He plays loud obnoxious music and because my husband works from home we had to ask more than once to turn it down or use earbuds. -He would constantly leave the door open that exits the kitchen into the garage while the garage door is wide open too, it was August, the number of bees and flies that came in was ridiculous, and then had the audacity while we were out getting backsplash to turn our AC down to 65 -He did not clean up the messes he left in our kitchen AND garage, we explained that was our ingress and digress to the home, a total lack of respect. -He took a new job before finishing ours resulting in an extra week of not being done, and we were not waiting on any materials or parts or anything. -We will be hiring another company to come in and fix the problems he left us with. -He has friends and family post recommendations for his "company" on Facebook group pages. He is a one man show who may be good at flooring and have enough basic knowledge to remodel his own home, but he is not a professional contractor you want to hire.

I called several times to follow up on receiving an estimate, with assurances from the customer service representative that he would get to the estimate, that he was working on the estimate, and that the estimate was completed and should have been sent out. I additionally emailed Nick about the estimate, and he told me that he was working on the estimate that morning. I still to this day have not received the estimate. I get the fact that the job I was requesting was not an easy job, and not as profitable as other summer work; therefore, I understand the fact that a lot of contractors will pass on this type of work. However, consistently leading me on and then never giving me an estimate is terrible customer service. This isn't dating, this is getting work done at my house. Either send out an estimate, or say "Look, we are not interested in doing the work."

It was a surprise to me that he had recently become a contractor. He had set up a business with a partner and named it MW (Middleton & Williams) Contracting. It was an odd coincidence that my son, Joe, suggested I enlist Patrick to take over the installation of the flooring in our home. My wife and I were in dire straits with the flooring. We had stripped all the old carpeting from 1200 square feet on 2 floors of our home and pulled the molding from around all the walls. We purchased a pallet of vinyl flooring from Costco and engaged a contractor who specialized in flooring. Unfortunately, this contractor was not up to the task. After arriving late and leaving early the first two days on the job, he abandoned us. My wife and I had checked into a motel with our dog to give this contractor an undisturbed work area. We had moved every large piece of furniture in our home to make way for the flooring. Our home, to put it mildly, was topsy turvy. When the contractor pulled out, I had a sense of doom. We put out an emergency call to friends and family for names of contractors who could step in on immediately to help us with our dilemma. Enter Patrick Middleton. I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to hire a young man who I had known only as a teammate of my son in high school 15 years earlier. I wanted a competent contractor who could provide professional quality service. I knew Patrick as a high quality and responsible person in my previous acquaintance, so any question of integrity or character was already resolved. When Patrick and his business partner showed up to assess our disaster area that our home had turned into, his competence as a contractor was quickly established. He went about assessing the needs of the stripped flooring, looked over the materials we had on hand, and gave us an overview of how he would pick up where our initial contractor had left off. I was very impressed. My wife, who had also known Patrick for 15 years but never in his new identity as a contractor, was also swept away with the confident professional competence Patrick displayed in his plan to rescue our flooring installation. Patrick gave us a quote and we accepted immediately. Patrick and his partner showed up on time and went to work immediately. I knew they had other commitments, but they worked us in and made steady progress. They connected the unfinished work of the previous contractor and my feeble attempts to get something done, and made our home flooring start looking good. It got better as they worked through. The difficult transitions from the easy planking in a rectangular room to the odd angles and small adjustments in doorways were completed with complete skill. Every day my admiration for the competence and work ethic for the two partners of MW Contracting grew. They were clearly were determined to provide us with total satisfaction. Our ongoing communication was seamless. every promise made was a promise kept. They were respectful of our household, including our 90 pound lab who often wanted to join them. I have serious concerns relating to MW Contracting and its owner, Matt Willoughby, due to the…read moreunacceptably poor quality of their work. I paid MW Contracting nearly $9,000 for a complete bathroom remodel, which included the installation of a Schluter shower system. Shortly after the installation, I noticed that some of the grout lines on the shower floor were turning black. Despite MW Contracting's attempts to re-grout a few small areas, the problem persisted. In an effort to rectify the situation, I reached out directly to Schluter, the manufacturer of the shower systems, especially since Matt Willoughby had highly endorsed their product as reliable. Regrettably, instead of addressing the issue constructively, Matt became confrontational during our phone conversation. The Schluter consultant's report outlined deviations from industry standard guidelines. It clearly indicated that the shower floor tile had been improperly installed, sloping away from the drain and causing water to pool rather than drain properly. Consequently, I am now forced to squeegee the floor after every shower to prevent mold growth. **Summary of Schluter Report:** Based on the report and photos, we noted the following deviation from the Schluter®-Shower System Installation Handbook and industry standard guidelines: The Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-T and shower floor tile assembly were pooling water. The inspection report and photos show that in some areas of the shower floor tile assembly, water was pooling away from the drain, indicating the tray was not even and level or the tile was installed sloping away from the drain. The KERDI-SHOWER-T shower tray needs to be installed on an even and level substrate to ensure the pre-sloped tray can evacuate water toward the drain assembly.
