My old HVAC system was 21 years old and the AC did not work at all. I was 100 percent pleased with the service I received from O'Brien Service Company. When I called and scheduled a estimate the front office staff were courteous and worked with me to find the best day and time. When I met with Tom for the estimate he was incredibly friendly, professional and thorough. He took measurements, notes and paid attention to details that I would have never even have thought of, to assure that I was getting the correct system. I received a few other estimates from other companies and they were friendly and professional as well but not nearly as thorough as Tom was. When it came time to install the technicians that came exceeded all of my expectations on all levels. Alex, Steven and David M. were the technicians, they worked diligently from start to end, even with my dog poking his nose in from time to time. Those guys were great we enjoyed small talk when their work allowed. Once their work was complete they explained to me all the bells and whistles on my thermostat and showed me all it could do. They did a stunning job with clean up. There was not a piece of trash anywhere to be seen. I had a few questions a few days after installation that required a technician to come back to the job site. They were able to get someone out there next day and completely answer my questions. On the day of the inspection Tom came to my home and gave me all my final paper work and explained to me what to expect with the inspectors. He also sat down with me and walked me through my warranties and what future regular maintenance should be down. I recommend O'Brien Service Company for any HVAC issues you may have. I would never recommend O'Brien's. Based on what I personally witnessed and reported, I have serious concerns about this company's judgment, ethics, and commitment to customer safety. The owner and management were informed of repeated allegations involving one of their technicians, including substance abuse, domestic violence, animal neglect, unsafe behavior, and other conduct inside the owners PERSONAL RENTAL PROPERTY he allows said employee to live in for free that I believe raised legitimate concerns. Obriens was provided with photographs and videos documenting these concerns, yet the employee continues working for them. I also have concerns that this employee engaged in conduct that could directly affect customers and public safety, including stealing copper from customers homes and bashing it at local scrap yards(scrap yards take fingerprints and copy IDs so this can be easily verified) driving a company vehicle after multiple DWI convictions, and other unsafe behavior. In my view, these are not simply "private matters" when they could impact customers, coworkers, and the public. For these reasons, I would not trust O'Brien's to perform work in my home. Others should make their own decision, but based on my experience and observations, I cannot recommend this company. In my opinion, Obriens covers up employees mistakes because at the end of the day they only seem to care about the bottom dollar! They don't seem to care about the public or their homeowners personal safety or their hvac work. read more

I am so impressed with O'Brien Service Company. I will recommend them to everyone. I filled out their online request contact form and they called me within minutes of sending the request. When it was time for my appointment my service technician Toby was one time, very kind, and professional. He took his time explaining everything he was going to do and why. I asked him several questions and he was very patient, he set up my service maintenance plan and did more than was asked. I know he probably saved a lot of money by cleaning the unit and being honest about the situation. I needed filters and he put the order in when he was leaving our house, the filters were supposed to come in a couple days, but they called to let us know they were in the neighborhood and brought them only 2 hours after the initial service visit- they didn't want to leave them on our porch because it might rain and asked if it was ok to drop off. I will use O'Brien Service Company again and recommend them to everyone. Great customer service and people. read more

Joy was my fist point of contact and she did a great job. I told her what I was looking for and she explained what my options were and help me figure out what would work best for me. Chris came out to do a preventative maintenance check and he was very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing. My unit is 13 years old so Chris also gave me some advice on options available once I had to replace the unit. Chris and I discussed putting a safety switch on the unit that would prevent overflow. I told him that I couldn't do it now, but maybe next month and he added it to my paper work, so I would know what to ask for when I called. Aaron from O'Brien Service just left my house. What a pleasant business experience! He was really thorough, friendly, professional and informative. The company was able to schedule a service call on the same day I called, which is fantastic when it's 85° and 70% humidity, you work from home, and the central AC unit won't run. Aaron diagnosed the issue straight-away, informed me of the remedy and gave me a fair-priced quote for the work. He fixed the issue and gave me some good tips on how to prevent it from happening again. Extremely happy with the service. We had a compressor relocated to accommodate the installation of a pool. From the initial contact (after hours BTW), the representative that compiled the quote, the representative who handled the permits, the electrician, and to the installers, we were treated as if we were the only clients they had. In April 2018 O'Brien Service Company installed new duct work and a VARIABLE SPEED heat pump. My 50 year old home suddenly used less electricity than a new energy efficient home. SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS OF MY BILL. They sized the appropriate duct work to distribute the air as it should be, so that I no longer have hot or cold rooms in my house. Before this experience, I was not educated on variable speed units....now I can't stop telling people about how wonderful it is....you don't want a one speed a/c system!! Estimate and installation process very good with an attentive team. Post-install follow-up they dropped the ball. A little over a month since install and I had to contact them about the energy rebate. Then they had to have a meeting. Then expected me to sign an agreement form for financing that was ALREADY done online with Wells Fargo. Post installation needs to get their act together.
