Last year when my check engine light came on and I brought my car to them, they told me that my whole transmission needed replacing right then, because it could fail in the next few months. (I've waited to give this review for that reason). They were urging me to get the work started right then, a cool $2800 right after I was out of work with a cancer diagnosis, and in desperate need of a working car to get to Boston for life-saving treatment, which I even told them. I was panicking more than any other time in my life, so I went out of town to get a second opinion. The other shop I found (in Springfield) tinkered with it for a few minutes for free and assured me it would be ok and was not a safety issue. 14 months later, my transmission is still doing just fine. I wish I had the resources to talk to a lawyer; this is unconscionable business practice. It put me under even more totally unnecessary stress than I was already facing, and it wasn't even true. And for the service of looking at the transmission, they charged me over $90 without mentioning before that it would cost so much. Even while they were explaining all this work I supposedly needed, they treated me like I was wasting their time, because they (I think Dave) kept saying "normally we work on cars that need $5,000-$7,000 in work", like mine was barely worth the dirt on the tires to them because it's old and basic. I still can't believe they tried to do that to me while I was facing a threat like cancer, needing to know that my car could get me to appointments safely.

My last vist was to get my side skirts installed, as well as some other small tweaks in bumper fitment, ect. I picked up the car 9am Wednesday July 23rd. Once getting to work around noon the sunlight was out and I was grabbing something from my trunk, I then saw multiple harsh scratches aswell as 2 cracks in my left tail light. I then texted over a photo to the shop and was immediately told it wasn't them and not their fault. After getting bombarded with texts and calls from the worker I got the owner's contact. He said he would look into it and apologized for the troubles. A few days later I had gotten a quote for replacing the lens and we got into contact again, the worker said he would give me $100, then later that day the owner called me and said he would give me $300 to go towards the replacement. I told him I would pick it up Wednesday July 30th. Wednesday July 30th I got up early on my one day off of work and went over to the shop with the tail light. The owner wasn't there, but the worker was. He then spent 20 minutes throwing out bs excuses and eventually said he cant take responsibility for it and refused to give me the money I was promised. I will never do buisness with that asshole ever again and I recommend you dont either if you care about your car and your money. He also didnt do a good job on the work. The job seems half done and parts feel off after he "anchored" them down. Charged a fortune too!

But, in fairness to the tow guys, they have a list, they get to your car when they get to it. If that is unacceptable, I understand, you should call for a private tow and pay up. For me, the roadside assistance service I used called Atlantis Towing. The guy at Atlantis returned my call when I called to ask about when they were coming and, on top of that, was kind and polite. I left the car for him to tow and headed home (leaving the keys where he instructed me to for him). He sent me a picture when the tow was completed. It was a bad day for me (I mean, the very definition of a bad day is having to call for a tow!) and he was the bright spot - kind and responsive. I see all the bad reviews listed here, but I suspect some of that is that when you need a tow, you are beginning the interaction in one of your worst days. His company didn't get payment from the customer and for some reason that upset him, but I helped him and walked him through it.
