I had a friend in from out of town and I was looking for a place for us to meet somewhere in the middle. I thought this was a different Irish bar had been two years ago so I told him to meet me there. As I got closer, I realized it was a new place. When I drove up, it almost looked closed but when you get into the back parking lot, it was completely full. This place is busy, busy busy! there is a jukebox that played an array of different music from country to rap to rock. The bar itself doesn't really have much of an Irish vibe so if that's what you're looking for this isn't the place. Maybe it's different on other nights. Our bartender was very attentive and consistently came to ask if we needed drinks or food. When she was busy, the other bartender came to check on us as well. So the service was A+. The menu was huge and had a lot of options. The prices were good and it seemed like you would get a lot of food with some of the bigger starters. I think we had five or six beers, two shots and wings/fries and our bill was somewhere around 50 bucks. Our food took a little while to come out, but considering how many people were there also ordering it didn't surprise me. The fries had a great seasoning on them and were very tasty. I came to help out on St. Patrick's Day as security. I worked a 12 hour shift. After that 12 hour shift, one of their employees stole my bike. When I asked about it, they were no help to find it. (Regular since 2021) The owner is chill and the staff is sweet, The wings are the best! 10 wings for $5! I recommend the honey bbq! The side salad with grilled chicken is da bomb! The people are friendly as hell and the music is always great! cheap entry pool tournaments with big pay outs and its a one ball in game so also a fun and easy win! This is probably my second Favorite bar in Arizona! wish they did karaoke cause then I'd never leave! Holy shit! This freakin place hasn't changed in the 20+ years I have occasionally visited. It was a dive bar in 2000 and it has slumped to lowest level of dive bar in 2023. Just as I remember, I thought to myself, as I came in through the door - not a gdamn thing has changed ‍ From the very small jail-type tv's to the flippin leaky ass roof when it rains (there are buckets for that, set on tabletops to catch the water) No wonder the musty smell still is lurking here, you stop noticing though after a while as you go nose blind. The bathroom just around the corner from the jukebox still has no seat after all this time. Wonderful. Said bathroom also has the permanent stink of piss and sewer - what's new? After a crap shoot Friday at work went to O'Brien's for some food and adult beverage. It's been a minute since we had been there but the place hasn't changed much. Still dark and divey, can still smoke and the indoor "patio." Server came over quickly took our drink order. A Stella and a Blue Moon. Again drink arrived quickly. Blue moon came with a large orange wedge just like I like it. She took our food order when she brought our drinks. Fried zucchini and wings. Took about 10 minutes. Zucchini was great. Large portion of perfectly fried coins with some really good ranch. Wings crisp with just the right amount of sauce. I loved both but the hubs said the wings were too crispy for him, I thought they were perfect. Had some friends show up so we probably stayed a tad too long. Paid for that in the morning. This bar is within walking distance of our residence. It will be a new go to on the weekends when we are wanting a few drinks and food. Burgers looked good too. The only reason my review isn't 5 star is the music was just a tad too loud. We had to talk very loud to hear each other but then again maybe I'm just getting old. read more

It was four of us: 2 Mexicans, my wife and I, 1 white friend, and a black lesbian friend just having a beer and hanging out. For my wife and i was our second time going to Obriens, which we do every Monday as a hangout with our friends, but this time around it wasn't like the first time. Once our white friend left, we weren't treated the same anymore. Our other friend asked about their old bartender keep in mind our friends have been coming here since 2016, and thats why she was asking about the old bartender. Nothing against Nikki which is the current bartender, we were just curious. Next thing you know, the owner comes out and has a talk with your black lesbian friend about the situation of the old bartender and why she isnt there anymore, which we find kinda odd because we really didn't care but just curious. Didn't mean any disrespect to the new bartender. After that the bartender would not tend to us and was honestly being really rude to us. She no longer took our order or would ask us if we needed anything. We were playing darts continuing to have a good time dancing to the music finishing our last round of beer but noticing the mood change in the bar dont know if it was because we were playing music that we paid for and dancing having a good time despite the incident and the ambiance that had shifted. Once we were ready to leave we went to use the restroom our friend asked for the tab the bartender gave her the tab and took off to another part of the bar. Our friend told my wife that the bartender had told her that a few other patrons had left without paying their tab before. Which had nothing to do with us since they had my card on file. So we told her that we would like to close our tab which she rudely said ill be right with you with a arrogant look which my wife answered no we need to close our tab not because we needed to get home. Which the bartender told us we were no longer welcome there. I dont know what we did we werent disrespectful and we didnt cause any issues in the bar. All we wanted to do was have a few drinks and chill. And now all of a sudden we arent welcome there anymore just because we asked for an old bartender and trying to pay so we werent one of the ones that walked out on their tab. If this is the type of service this bar provides then we dont need to be not welcomed there we just wont go. And this is all thanks to NIKKI the new bartender that got offended for asking for the old bartender. Good luck obrians we will take our brown skinned business somewhere else!!! Definitely would have driven past this spot if I didn't search for sports bar while I was in the area. Hidden between other buildings and parking hidden in back I thought it was closed. Parking lot was packed and entrance is in the back. It's super dark walking in from the sun and it takes eyes some time to adjust but the vibe and space is classic pub style. Lots of space inside, plenty of seats around bar, and a large patio. The biggest negative for me is the open wall between patio and inside so all the smoke from smokers on patio comes in with fans blowing. Thankfully there was a table by the entrance and it was far enough away from the smoke. Plenty of TVs playing the Sunday football games and lots of energy from the customers. Hubby ordered 6 Sweet Thai Chili wings and chili cheese fries but they were out of chili so he switched to loaded tots. I got a quesadilla cheese crisp style and a side salad. The quesadilla cheese crisp style comes out open faced instead of folded over like usual. It was nice and crisp and the cheese was melted and covered every inch. It was like a cheese slice without the marinara! It was delish. The salad was decent size and the creamy cilantro dressing was a nice twist for my usual vinaigrette. The server recommended getting the wings extra crispy so hubby decided to try it. He said the wings were good but too crispy for his liking so he would probably not get them extra crispy next time. But the spice was a nice sweet heat. They were well baked, lots of meat on the bone and flavorful. The tots were crisp but a little too overpowering with the salty flavor combo. read more

Bartender Liz was very nice but after we ordered our fourth round, plus food, bought a drink for a friend we met at the bar and a t-shirt, she questioned "are you sure"? Before we closed out our tab, we spoke with the other bartender who said she was the manager. She quickly turned the situation back to Liz. They went from serving some of the best bloody Mary's in town, to putting tomato juice Worcestershire and vodka into a glass and calling it a bloody Mary. Then they threw me out of the bar complaining about how bad the bloody Mary was. I have been going to O'Brians since right before covid-19 and it is a shame that it had to end the way it did. I personally liked the bartenders, as they were always nice and friendly. I would usually be amused as to what was happening in my surroundings and would often connect with the most random people of all types. I will include these details as so you understand more my story not to give a rap-ore. I was witness to actual physical violence where a guy was knocked out right in front of me. I was witness to many very shady deals including scams and outright fraudulent deals. All this makes no impression on me despite my clean cut appearance as I am from NYC and love when there is a lot going on. I do not think I have ever been rude to anyone there and have always kept to myself unless it was in good spirits. I came tonight on 4-1-24 at around 9:20pm and ordered my regular drink and all was good. I went outback to have a smoke and I had just inhaled my second drag and some woman from behind me asks "Is that pot?" in a really condescending and as if I was caught by my mother smoking in her own bedroom!? I mean really aggressive too! so I turned to her and said as I exhaled "yes it. Whats the problem?" Woman- "You can't smoke pot in here!!!" - Really aggressively once again. And before I really had a chance explain myself, this other big guy comes cussing at me that I need to put it out before he "will knock me the fuck out" and basically they kick me out. Turns out this couple, middle aged, are the owners of the bar and they tell me that as they are screaming and yelling in my face and this big owner dude is being held back by his wife cause they could not just ask me not to smoke pot and I gladly would have put it out. I would not smoke in my own home if I knew it would bother them let alone in a public setting. K, note to the owners. 1- Please check yourself. Look at your clientele and the area in which you are in. 2- Be polite to your customers! If someone is doing something wrong, there is a way to speak and communicate. Had I not maintained my cool the entire time this story would have ended a lot differently. Look, you own a bar, and you yourself had a few drink and barley was able to control yourself, DUDE, take it easy. 3- Smoking pot is completely legal in AZ. If you as an owner want to enforce a rule, I would 100% abide by by your rules when I would walk into your place. So here is another piece of advice. If you are coming over to someone as an owner, tell them right away or wear a hat, Jacket, shirt or whatever that says owner like this people know who is talking. You approached me with a lot of disdain and super rudely as if you had a right to tell me how and what to do with my own personal life? You were a random disgruntled person who does not like pot and I was going to let you know that even if you are a very rude person and have no people skills that I was putting it out and was not sure why it became a whole emotional thing? As a side note, I have been out there with people who told me that even before it was legal they would come and smoke on the back patio and that people were cool here. Very interesting. 4- All this is a really bad reflection on you as a person. I honestly am just so disappointed! I still cannot believe what happened?! Also, clean your bathrooms!!!
