Sometimes the national hype of a place can lead you to believe a place isn't worth your time. I know most of us want that small mom and pop place support local and that's a great aspiration to have, keep supporting local and small business. Just don't forget about consistent great places either they need our support as well. Wife and I wanted to sneak out for a quick date night on HH and hadn't had BBQ in a while so I suggested Bobby Q's. Plenty of seating as this place is huge but especially in the bar area where happy hour runs to 6pm. Ordered a few drinks from Kat and a plate to split. The food was promptly served and the drinks were delicious. Portions were plenty to split and enjoy some time hanging out away from our busy schedules for about an hour with no rush from the staff. Perfectly seasoned and cooked prime rib delicious twice baked potato and broccoli. As always enjoy the small but the staples need us to support them as well otherwise they'll disappear and when there this good it's worth it.

My college baseball teammates and I are making it a tradition to do a reunion trip to Phoenix every year for Spring Training, and Bobby Q's is firmly a part of that tradition. Been here back to back years now and it has not disappointed one bit! We make a reservation in advance for our big party of 12-14 and the wait staff handles us exceptionally well. Big tables to accommodate all of us, efficient order taking and delivery, and always on top of their game with the complimentary goodies (cornbread, donuts for dessert, and two free brownies + ice cream for the two birthday boys)! And the restaurant ambiance is really great; a cross between a ranch house and an upscale restaurant, with sports games playing on all of the TV's above the bar. Always great vibes! - Two meat combo: Baby back ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the brisket just melts in your mouth. Both bursting with smoky goodness. And you can't go wrong with any of their sides: I got BBQ beans and mashed potatoes this time, but their Mac & cheese is also killer. - Cornbread: unlimited refills, some of the best cornbread I've had in my opinion. Very soft, buttery, and surprisingly light.

I was excited to try Bobby Q with an average 4.5 star rating and 5k+ reviews. Four of us had lunch here on Friday and were able to take advantage of the lunch menu they offer on weekdays from 11-3. During lunch, they also offer the full dining menu. We started off with the famous Q rolls: the meat was salty but the "roll" wrapping was light and crispy. I liked it paired with the chipotle ranch which added a creamy kick and balanced it out. Bob's salad (small) was a good portion size and easily shareable. There was a generous amount of chopped chicken breast but it was dry. The rib tips were also dry, stringy and salty. Not a lot of meat on those. The St. Louis spare ribs (really meaty!) were a lot more moist, but were salty as well. Fries also super salty. The side of corn was ok and so was the pecan coleslaw. Very good, attentive and knowledgeable service though. We were educated on St Louis vs baby back ribs! The complimentary cornbread and mini donuts were the highlight for us. Yum!

This place is so cool! I actually didn't really have high expectations, but it was way better than I thought and I was surprised how everyone was so friendly. Also their price was reasonable as their plate is HUGE. The portion is like so big, well I loved it haha Their brisket was like melt in my mouth. I got smoked chicken wings, and they were soooo yummy, I'd get chicken wings again!

Hayden our Server is so pleasant and efficient, just a pleasure to have her as our Server, made the dining experience memorable. Had the Friday Night Fish (COD) Fry, marvelous.

They advertise themselves as being the world's best bbq. I'm not sure how that happened or if it ever did. I love bbq and I have sampled bbq at a lot of places so I feel my opinion comes from experience. I realize that opinions can be subjective because of different tastebuds and preferences. The building is nice and there is ample parking. We were greeted as we walked in and seated almost as quickly. Our server was very nice and didn't hurry us while we perused the menu. Two of us ordered brisket sandwiches and one in our party ordered a pulled pork sandwich. The brisket for me was rather dry and the other person in our party who ordered thought his was more moist. The one sauce they provided wasn't to my liking. I found out later that my server should have offered another sauce option but failed to do so. So I ate a dry beef brisket sandwich with no sauce. Everyone agreed that it was average bbq and unanimously we agreed the prices were too high. With higher prices comes higher expectations for quality and or quantity. It was a nice place, very noisy, service was good, food was average and prices were high. I have eaten at 5 bbq restaurants in the Phoenix metro area and in my humble opinion this would be ranked 5th of those 5 spots in food quality but highest in price. I won't be returning unless someone invites me and spends their money.

If you want some of the best bbq you have to try Bobby Qs. The brisket sandwich was soooooo good, perfect bun with a little crisp on the outside, and tender meat made to perfection. They give you cornbread complimentary and some fresh made donuts on the way out. The service is great, and the food usually comes out really quick. The outside and inside is decorated really cool, low light vibe inside with plenty of seating inside. Definitely coming back soon...

Recently hub and I stopped in for food to go. We've always had great experiences at BQ, and this time decided to order its 8 oz. prime rib to split ; however, when we returned home, I was shocked and infuriated that each half consisted of fat leaving around 6 oz. of beef. See photo of my half. I realize everyone in retail has raised their prices but this was robbery. With tip our meal was $44.22 including tip. There's nothing super special about the ambiance. Our server at the bar was friendly but after this experience we won't be heading back there for any time forever. I f we had eaten at the restaurant I would've returned the prime rib. Shame on you for taking advantage of people currently struggling with high prices. The portions in the past were too much food to eat!!! but I'd suggest looking at order before leaving (I should not have been so trusting)

Food: Visiting my sister and decided to try Bobby Qs. I found the food to be ok. I'd give it a 7/10. I ordered the Tri Tip which tasted like it had been baked in an oven and maybe smoked afterwards to add a little of the smoke flavor but definitely to cooked on a real BBQ grill. The mac and cheese tasted like garden variety boxed mac and cheese and kinda hard to mess up the mashed potatoes. Think every fast food BBQ place you have ever visited. They are ok if you are not a foodie and your thoughts of food are "fills a hole" but if you are a real food and looking for authentic BBQ then this is not for you. However, what wasnt a miss was the nice free bite sized doughnuts they served at the end of the meal for free. They were great and it was a nice touch. Ambiance: Nice ambiance. Beautifully decorated. The place had the familiar pleasant smell of smoked meats but unfortunately, I smelled more than I tasted. Service: The service was excellent. My server was very helpful, professional and pleasant. We were seated quickly and the food was served pretty quickly as well. Parking: Great parking options Overall: Loved the service, the ambiance was nice and the food was ok.

This place delivers what it advertises!! BBQ, done in many ways and all done well. This is not a 5 star fine dining place, but a down home BBQ and bar with lots of atmosphere and flavor. The servers are all quick and serve with happy smiles. I wouldn't drive far to go here, but it is definitely worth a side trip if you are in the area.

Love Bobby Q's! Love their cornbread! Love the Pineapple Passion! Love the Hogs Heaven! Love the BBQ Rotisserie chicken! Love HARRISON the server!! His service is wonderful every single time ! He's one of the reasons I go back!

Been there for two times and still love it. Their meat quality was good and grilled every well. I also liked there complimentary corn bread, outside was crispy and so soft on the inside. The cold slaw was also the best I've ever had, refreshing and pecan on top added the nutty flavor to it. The potato salad was also a must try. The servers there were kind and friendly. I also liked the atmosphere in side the restaurant, good place for family and friends gathering.

Margarita flight, worst in the world.
    Kortney J.

Came here as a party of 4. Our friends went once and said how good it was so we tried it out with them. Over an hour drive, and absolutely not worth it. Our service was terrible, the margarita flight was shot glass size $20 and the most disgusting flight I've ever had! Flights are my favorite and I order them everywhere I can. I couldn't drink these. They care more about the presentation than the taste. The husband's at our tables had to be the disposal for them and they were not a fan also but how could we waste $20 on such a small amount, right? The Texas Twinkies were very good and it's the only item that saved this trip from a 1 star visit. Brisket plate was small portioned for the price and flavorless unless bbq was on it. Smoked pulled pork sandwich was okay, very smokey. Cornbread was delicious. We will probably not ever go back.

    Not really but dress accordingly

Does Bobby Q have a sports bar area to watch football games?

What does not have bbq sauce on it, besides the salad?

You can always ask for the bbq sauce on the side.

Which one is the best Beef, baby back or St Louis ribs?

The baby back were the best. All were great but those were my favorite.

Is the restaurant open for dine-in service on Christmas Day 2021 and if so, what are the hours?

    They are closed Christmas Day.

Are beef ribs on their menu?

Yes my wife had them she said they were good!

Is the cornbread gluten free by any chance?

No, unfortunately the Cornbread is NOT GF. My nephew was diagnosed Celiac a few years back, and he says that is one of the many dishes that he really misses.

    Can you purchase the donuts?😁

    No donuts

    Yes

Is the Whole Hog Heaven too much for two persons?

Of course that depends on your appetite. The menu alluded to it being possibly eaten by just one person but that would be either a very hungry and/or large person. My wife and I were full and still had some to give to our 2 teenage sons and even…

I had the brisket and pulled pork plate (I also wanted to try the ribs and sausage, but they were already sold out!). That gives you an idea of how popular they are. They also have outdoor seating with fans and mist to cool you off. I took my order back to the hotel. Let me tell you, the food is phenomenal. That brisket was so moist and perfectly seasoned...gosh it was so good! The pulled pork was fantastic as well. The potato salad was great and definitely made on-site, not from a bag. Both come with 2 sides and I enjoyed all their options. The beans have chunks of meat and a bit of spice, the slaw & potato salad are lighter than your usual mayonnaise laden standard. The brisket & pork ribs were melt in your mouth tender! No knife required. The chopped brisket was moist and perfectly sauced, served on a delicious potato bun. The staff were all very friendly. This is definitely not a place to sit at if you don't have to. Very small inside and not much to look at. Now, weather permitting sitting outside and admiring their smoker might be a good option. People come here for the meats: brisket, ribs, pulled pork, BUT!!! Have you had this GREEN CHILE BURRITO?! I beg you to try it if you have not... most people don't know they even have it, but luckily, for my coworker and I, Director of Operations Matt, walked up to us as we dined in last Wednesday and let us sample the Green Chile. As most of you know, I can't hang when it comes to spicy foods, but this chile is THE EXCEPTION (even though it's only "mildly" spicy). We each ordered the 2 meat plate, but we were so appreciative of the sample he gave us, otherwise we would never have known about it. We ended up ordering 2 burritos for our lunch the very next day!! You can also add cheese to it! I went in again for the 3rd day in a row on Friday, since I'm not sure when I'll work in that area again (I was 10 min away all last week)!! I asked my boss if I could work there on Mondays and Fridays, that's how good this burrito is!! They also have a MEAN Pecan Pie. It's called Bekke's Smoked Pecan Pie and it too, is a must try item! Matt told us it's a secret recipe from one of their employees and the crusts are hand pressed daily. Using a machine is just NOT the same, and I believe it! Since I am not sure when I'll make my way back there, I also bought another pie on Friday. So far, I've only had 1 slice because I need to ration accordingly! Prior to my 3 visits last week, I went to this location last July, when a friend was visiting from out of town. The place is clean and welcoming, and they have the best customer service! On Thursday and Friday when I ordered online and picked up, my orders were ready before the estimated pick up time! Mark was at the pick up window both times and he rocks!! I had forgotten to ask for the Banana Pudding I ordered on Wednesday when we dined in. I called as I drove home, realizing I left without it. Amanda was super friendly when she answered the phone and assured me I would have it when I came the next day. Mark delivered and had it in my bag the next day when I picked up our burritos. Service with a smile is what you'll get here! You cannot go wrong no matter what you order here! The meats are absolutely perfect and the flavor profile on everything is mind-blowing! Do yourself a favor and ask for the Green Chile anything next time you're here. Tell them I sent you! Don't sleep on the Banana Pudding or Bekke's Smoked Pecan Pie, either. Something about that smoking process makes the pie stand out from every other pecan pie you've ever tasted, trust me. It's also NOT super sweet like you're probably used to. If you call in, you can't place an order by phone, so do it online and you'll get a text with an estimated time of pick up. You can skip the line inside, too. Just walk up to the pick up window and you're good to go when you ring the little doorbell. There is plenty of parking outside and they even have a large patio space should you choose to dine outside. Thank you, Matt, Mark, Amanda and the rest of the crew at Little Miss BBS Sunnyslope for such a pleasant experience every single time!! I will be back for sure! Don't forget to try the Prickly Pear Lemonade (spiked with vodka -- my choice of poison)! enJOY!!

Such a friendly and attentive young woman. We enjoyed chatting with her. Excellent bartender with great recommendations. I took her advice, and had the Prickly Pear Mule. Good flavor, and different than the ordinary mule. My husband had Makers Mark neat & a Dos Equis with a very cold glass. We moved to a booth, and ordered the smoked wings as an appetizer. They were outstanding! Served with carrots, celery, and 3 sauces on the side...buffalo, ranch, and bbq. It was such a generous serving , but we were determined to finish them. Next, we each ordered the 2 meat platter. I had St. Louis ribs with brisket, Mac and cheese, and the bbq beans. My husband ordered the baby back ribs, brisket, bbq beans, and pecan Cole slaw. We were both served a piece of cornbread which was so good. I also had a smoked Old Fashioned. The presentation was very well done! Finally, to top it off, Audrey brought a piece of chocolate with ice cream for my husband's birthday! The food was spectacular, and made us determined to return, possibly the next day for the fried fish! It's actually a 1 1/2 hour drive to get there, but well worth it! Renny, the manager, stopped by our table twice to make sure we were happy with everything. If you're a fan of bbq, check out BobbyQ! You won't be disappointed!!

We were recently in Phoenix and I knew we decided to stop by. I was just hoping and praying that Frasher's would not disappoint this homesick girl. We were greeted warmly as soon as we came in. Andrea was our server and she was attentive, kind and answered all of our questions about the menu. Moreover, she's a St Louis native so she knew her stuff. I ordered toasted ravioli (beef), a St Louis salad, and a cheese pizza with Provel. The t-ravs were spot on and the sauce was delicious. The salad was good and the pizza was pretty darn close to Imo's style. My heart was happy. My husband ordered the brisket and burnt ends and really enjoyed them. I will definitely be returning to Frasher's when I am in Phoenix but, to be honest, this restaurant deserves a little day trip from Tucson every now and then for a taste of home. Bonus: they also sell Provel cheese by the pound!

It's the bad customer service that is blocking the potential of what it could be. Nobody cares , or understands how to run a proper business there. Kindness, peace of heart and understanding is what goes along way. There was no one I the restaurant except me. Perform the best customer service that you can ever give for a business or your establishment a company. I tried to give this company, business establishment the benefit of a doubt .. The concept is simple: order your meat by the pound, pick your sides, grab a dessert, and snag a beer, specialty soda, or fountain drink on your way to the register. The dining room is basically a redneck cafeteria, and I mean that as a compliment. Long community tables, no table service, and everything is self-serve. Honestly, I prefer it that way. I can grab as much white bread as I want, refill my own drink, never have to flag someone down for napkins, and I've had some great conversations with other patrons. The brisket is consistently good, and I always order it moist. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is another favorite, but the baked beans deserve their own mention. They're loaded with bits of shredded pork that add both texture and smoky flavor, making them one of the better barbecue sides around. Rudy's is one of those chains that doesn't feel like a chain. The focus is on the meat, and it shows. It delivers the consistency you'd expect from a larger operation while still feeling like a neighborhood barbecue joint. That's not an easy balance to strike, but Rudy's pulls it off.

This what we ordered: Brisket Hot links Pork Belly Pork Ribs BBQ Beans Collard Greens BBQ Spaghetti Hot Water Cornbread Cedar Lane Lemonade Everything was flavored nicely. If I had to omit one item from our order it would be the beans. My favorite was the BBQ Spaghetti, collard greens and the Hot water cornbread. I thought the beans would have a bit more flavor, but I've never been a bean kind of gal. You will need to try it for yourself! The Hot water Cornbread was great. The texture was a little gritty, but still yummy. The shape is what caught me by surprise. It was round and flat almost like a pancake. The service was outstanding. Friendly and hardworking. The food came out in good time. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. Has a warm but rustic vibe. I would most definitely revisit this spot whenever in the area.

The whites stayed north because local industry made real estate in the southside less desirable. Slaughterhouses and rendering factories gave south Phoenix a black cowboy population. Sure, there are cowboy groups in California - West Oakland and Compton - but these guys are all LARPing. That is, they're playing the part. Weekend warriors. The afro-vaqueros of Phoenix are dyed in the wool, real deal westerners. So anyway, it's in this milleu you find AT JL BBQ. Alongside said cowpoke, you may, as I did, dine next to a couple 304s. It's an active neighborhood, what can you say? Neither here nor there, but the ephemera that adorns the walls is different than what you might find at a soul food place. It's decidedly more American as such. Speaking of the signage: one of them reminds you that bbq is not fast food and that a patient temperament is of the utmost. Yet, the smoker ain't going. The Cue been cooked. As for the sides, no one does greens and Mac n cheese a la minute. So if everything is prepared, why do I have to wait? I kid. I jest. The girl behind the counter was all by herself. Gave great recommendations. And even gifted me a bottle of water On this visit, brisket was sold out. Late afternoon: makes sense. They had pulled pork. Bites of the smokerd rendered fat therein had the effect of rocket fuel. Pork belly was even porkier than the aforementioned shredded butt. Ribs pretty good too. Mac: ultra cheesy. Pot liquor from the collard greens came in clutch for hydrating the more dry pieces of pork.

That pastrami- I'm an east coast girl--- like someone's mother made it in her crock pot! To put that on some bread would port you to NY or Jersey, STAT! The ribs are perfectly DEELICIOUS and cook out approved. Frijoles, ooooh nice, savory and filled with slow cooked love. The service is FABULOUS! You feel welcomed, it's very down home neighborhood feel. Me and my family went. (The 3 of us probably made too much noise.) but Eric's makes you feel relaxed and kicked back because the food is the show! It was our first time and there's no rushing you through the order process and they explain how it works, happily. It seems that everyone is humble and makes you feel like this is their love language. My family, the 2 of them had a burger and fries, chicken wings, pulled pork and brisket with Mac n cheese and cole slaw. When I reached the table, they both said the brisket was the best they've ever had! I feel like it's priced right! It's family style, so ordering by the pound makes so much sense. We ordered separately, but we each have good amount of food leftover for a day or two for me. We wanted to try SO many foods. We discussed needing to get the banana pudding next time. We all live downtown Phoenix but coming out to the suburbs for this, was A PERFECT TREAT for a Saturday dinner. My colleague suggested Eric's and WOW, she was SO ON POINT with this suggestion. Oh, they brew their own tea daily. Sweet and unsweetened. Oh, how could I forget the MUSIC! OMG, THE MUSIC! 70s RnB, SOOOOO COOL!!!
