Giving them a 1-star because they add a 3.5% credit card service fee to your bill.

Can I just say I HATE...HATE whenever a business slaps a credit card service fee onto your bill. So I am giving O'brions a 1-star because THEY ADD A 3.5% CREDIT CARD SERVICE FEE to your bill (please see pic), which is a pet peeve of mine and I refuse to support nor will I recommend any business that sneaks services fees onto the bill for customers who pay using credit cards. Honestly, it's just such a hostile gesture towards customers and makes me feel management / owners don't value my business. Beyond that the only conclusion you should draw from an establishment tacking on service fees to your bill is the clear contempt for customers such an obnoxious business practice implies. Last thing I'll say about tacking on a 3.5% SERVICE FEE FOR CREDIT CARD PURCHASES, is that you'd think it'd be obvious to any business owner with half a brain (like myself) that the embarrassingly obvious better way of handling it is to ...D'uh... raise the price just a little (if you must) and OFFER A DISCOUNT FOR PAYING IN CASH!

    Artichoke dip...not too great

My experience at O'brions Pub would have easily been a 2 or 3, had it not been for my bartender. Been meaning to try this place for a while, and finally decided to stop in after a late night visit to Lowe's around the corner. This place is nestled in the Publix strip mall, next to a Mexican restaurant. Despite the strip mall status, they have set up a nice little patio situation. 2 TVs, some tables, and a cornhole set are all outside on the sidewalk! Once you're inside, you almost feel like you've entered someone's living room. It gives off a cozy, casual vibe, but includes a ton of TVs playing different games. Down side: we ordered food. Burger was mostly dry (though the blue cheese was good), fries were decent. Attempted the artichoke dip and it was simply not good. I'm not sure if it was because of the canned artichokes or what. The pita that came with it was nice, but could not get over the funky sour flavor. Plus side: our bartender was extremely attentive and nice. Our drinks were rarely empty for long. When I was not happy with the dip and ordered a side of fries to appease my belly, they actually made another dip for me to try. Same flavor issues pursued with round two, unfortunately. When the check came, not only did he remove the dip, which I did not ask him to do, but he also bought us a round of drinks! This was a classic example of service totally saving the day. We will absolutely be back here for drinks!!

    Burgers half price.

Since my last review of this place things seem to be working so much better at Obrions. We go almost every Tuesday of the winter and we take advantage of half price burger night and the Happy Hour prices which are great as well. Our server seems to be the same one weekly. She is so nice and helpful with our choices on the menu. And we feel very welcome now. Overall a great improvement over my last review and we now will be back again tonight and then busy at the Shelter for the summer since we will be in Mt P every Tuesday. But will be back for other events and after sailing season.

Special Corned Beef Hash with egg

This was the second time I've been here for lunch. This tiime I tried their Shepard's Pie. It was very good. Not too much mashed potatoes and very flavorful. I would have hoped for more meat in the pie but that will not stop me from ordering it again. I also had a sweet tooth, so ordered their chocolate cake. It as very good, not too sweet but very chocolatey. First time I was here was shortly after St. Patricks day and I had a hankerin' for some Corned beef and cabbage. They didn't have that, but did have a special corned beef hash with an egg. This was actually very tasty and filling.

    Soup of the day ;-)

Just a local watering hole. Understaffed and mediocre food. But sometimes that's all you need.

It was easy & we loved our lunches! I chose the double smash burger which was so delicious and filling! Loved it! Hubs chose the Cobb chicken salad and he loved it! Ate every bite & reports that the chicken was fried perfectly without too many clumps or batter lumps. We would absolutely come back for brunch items! Cool things: the bathroom wallpaper was epic, outside they have a water cooler with cups for self help access & a dog bowl for those who bring their pups. Loved that!

A group of about 8 of us went out for drinks Saturday (5/2/26). We were having a great time (respectful, quiet, not causing a problem). Last call hit at 1:30 so we decided one more drink before we went our ways home. 10 mins later we're were asked to leave the courtyard and head inside - not a problem. We will finish our drinks inside. 5 minutes after that, we were asked to take our last sips and leave. 15 mins before the posted closing time. Again, we weren't causing a problem, weren't loud, weren't disruptive. This was a group of 8, most of us well into our 40s (or older). But they were telling all guests to leave at 1:45a?? Just after we bought drinks? The posted hours say they close at 2a. Not 1:45a. Most of us left half finished drinks. The large bouncer was nice enough, the tiny one in a hoodie with glasses was totally unprofessional. So beware. The Blind Tiger has what it takes to remain a Charleston institution. Their staff, might ruin that chance.

One of our all-time favourite Charleston institutions... Tommy Condon's!…read more First of all... I owe these guys an apology. I've lived in Charleston for over 20 years, have celebrated countless nights here, brought friends and family from all over the world, survived more than a few St. Patrick's Day celebrations (some I remember... some I don't! ), and I cannot believe I've never left them the 5-star review they deserve. Well... better late than never! Another fantastic evening. Our favourite server, Courtney, took amazing care of us as always. She makes everyone feel like an old friend instead of just another customer, and that's exactly why we keep coming back. Then we were treated to live music by Justin Suede... wow! What an entertainer. Great voice, brilliant stage presence, loads of energy, and he had the whole place buzzing. Tommy Condon's has always had fantastic live music, but Justin absolutely knocked it out of the park. One thing that also really impressed me was the manager, Rob, making the effort to come over personally to ask how everything was. You just don't see enough managers doing that anymore. It shows they genuinely care about their customers and the experience they're creating. I also noticed the gentleman working the door doing a proper job checking IDs and keeping everything running smoothly. It might seem like a small thing, but it makes everyone feel safe and looked after, and that's something worth recognising. But for me, the biggest reason I love Tommy Condon's is the customer service. Every single visit they treat us like family. That's something you can't fake, and it's why this place has been one of our favourite spots in Charleston for two decades. The food is always excellent, the drinks are flowing, the live music is outstanding, the atmosphere is second to none, and there's always plenty of laughs. If you're visiting Charleston--or if you live here and somehow haven't been yet--do yourself a favour and get yourself to Tommy Condon's. We'll definitely be back... probably sooner than my liver would recommend. Three thumbs up ) and an easy 5 stars from Debbie and me.

Service was a bit slower since we were the only guests outside, but our server was very friendly. We ordered the Bookmaker and the Irish Club along with our pints of Mangers and Guinness. The Bookmaker was a French dip type of sandwich. it was touted as a prime rib sandwich, but could have used a lot more beef and a lot less gristle. The Irish club was very tasty and had lots of turkey but not a lot of corned beef and the meat wasn't evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. We substituted side salads for the fries, and it was an extremely substantial portion of salad-very nice!
