The chips were good and my daughter liked the dip (I'm not a fan of that dip so I didn't have any). I recently went to Ireland's Own to attend my West Ashley HS reunion. The event was held at the front corner of the sports bar and we had a huge turnout! There are tons of TVs around and they have a elevated seating area to watch the sports games. They have a big area in the back with lots of billiards pool tables and an arcade. I enjoyed a complimentary beer and appetizer food of wings, sliders, and Mac and cheese for my reunion. Excellent customer service! I stopped at Ireland's own after a movie at citadel movie theater and was extremely impressed. I expected the typical bar food. Burgers and fried everything. I moved here from the DC area and find it difficult to eat healthy here without going broke. I never ate fried food regularly! I was surprised at the variety on the menu at a sports bar. We absolutely love coming here. We visit almost weekly. This is a laid back pub with great food. They have a seat yourself policy with a full bar and pool tables. This is family friendly with all the games and kids menu which is also great. We always come in and rent balls to play pool and eat great bar food. The restaurant is self located s very large and has a very unique setup and concept to it. My wife and I both settled on the Schnitzel she got the Jaegerschnitzel with mashed potatoes and I got the traditional with the German Potato salad and onion rings. The food was good as a whole but here are a few things that we feel could be better. Pound out the pork cutlet so it is thinner, it was like eating a fried boneless chop. The potato salad and sauerkraut were good. The onion rings were quite good the only thing is they could be crispier. The mashed potatoes were lacking flavor as was the gravy. What we got: *Fish and Chips - this was my husband's meal and thought the fish was good enough. He has had more flavorful chips "fries". *Jagerschnitzel - this was my meal. The pork cutlet was very thin, mostly breading and a tad bit dry. The gravy that came with it was nice, but only had about 2 mushrooms. The mashed potatoes were standard. The food was ready for pick up when expected. I do wish they offered online ordering as it was difficult to order over the phone - restaurant was loud, and it was hard for both myself and the other person to hear each other. If I could leave a zero, I would. I was really disappointed with my experience here on St. Patrick's Day. This should be the one day an Irish restaurant absolutely gets right--and unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. We were initially told there would be a 30-minute wait, which seemed reasonable given the holiday. However, we ended up waiting over an hour and a half before finally being seated. By that point, expectations were already low--but it got worse. Once we sat down, we were told that most of the menu was unavailable. Not just a few items--almost all of the Irish staples were gone. No shepherd's pie, no Irish egg rolls, no cabbage, no corned beef... essentially the very dishes people come for on St. Patrick's Day. What made this even more frustrating was that I had just seen someone associated with the band being served corned beef Irish nachos. If that truly was the last serving, fine--but it certainly didn't feel transparent or fair. To add to the confusion, the live band was playing 1970s Motown/funk music. On St. Patrick's Day. In an Irish restaurant. It completely missed the mark on atmosphere and felt out of place for what should have been a themed celebration. On top of everything, only two pool tables were available because the restaurant chose to continue hosting pool league night instead of rescheduling. With the place completely packed for the holiday, this just added to the overall frustration and lack of consideration for the crowd. Overall, it felt like there was little to no planning for one of the busiest and most important days of the year for an Irish establishment. St. Patrick's Day comes around every year--there's really no excuse to be this unprepared. Unfortunately, this experience completely missed the mark, and I won't be returning. read more

I will be honest. I have heard of this place existing for quite some time, but just visited for the first time. Upon arrival, the front bar was closed and there was no one at the host stand, but there was a sign stating the need to wait to be seated. After several minutes, someone came up and asked if we wanted a booth or a table, to which we said booth. Little did we know, we were taken into an entirely separate part of the establishment, with a large bar, lots of twinkle lights, booths, and tables with highbacked cloth chairs. The rest of the place is definitely a sports bar. The staff was promptly at our table to take our order. I got the Irish nachos with chicken. We also ordered the shepherd's pie bites for the table. To me, the bites definitely lacked flavor and were kinda boring. I actually enjoyed my Irish nachos - they were basic with house chips, chicken, ranch drizzle, a lot of jalapenos, and queso on the side for dipping. Overall, pretty tasty. After we finished eating, we went to explore the rest of the space and saw a large arcade area and a separate space for other games, pool, and cornhole. I love this place for watching sports and the vibe but not so much for the food. It is definitely a frozen food that has been fried vibe. They have two separate areas, one German and one Irish so two different menus. Very authentic to each of those cultures. Tons of TVs around and they always play the games with the sound on. Solid sports pub with an Irish/English pub fare focus! They also have a HUGE arcade area for the young and young at heart. Parking is super easy and there are a ton of seating options. Was finishing up some errands nearby one night and realized it was getting late for dinner and our options were getting slim. We came to Ireland's own because they serve pretty late. There was karaoke going on on what seemed to be the party side (where all the games were) and I didn't need a poor rendition of living on a prayer while I ate so we sat on the irish pub side. Overall the place is huge and while you can still hear what's going on over on the other side, you can still dine here without feeling like you're at a nightclub. We started with the shepards pie bites and I have to say they are one of my new favorite apps. Definitely get these! Basically everything you love about shepards pie deep fried and served with a side of gravy. I would love to come back for more of the Irish fare and German fare... hello schnitzel and brats, but we were both craving a burger and went that route. It wasn't a burger I would seek out but it did the job. I'm giving a star because of the space and the games. Basically the whole layout. Great energy with all the locals. I did not know this place was that big. They've been on my yelp list for about a year. I don't venture out to West Ashley as much these days. Sometimes it's unrecognizable. This place is in the shopping center that used to be Cherokee arms apartments. I would tell you stories from that apartment but I'm not sure the statue of limitations is gone yet. So I will hold that thought for now. Let's just say I learned big lessons on manhood back here. I can tell from the pictures on yelp that they have some original dishes. And they didn't really let me down. As soon as I walked in the energy was so high I didn't even go to my table. I just walked through the whole spot, soaking it all in. I got all the way to the back of the game room where some little kid was walking around with fistfuls of dollars. I was like what the hell. He pulled a couple bucks out and put it in the machine told me to punch the punching bag to see what level of power I had. How could I resist? I took two steps back and launched like Mike Tyson. He was impressed. We're friends now. Lol. Love the menu. I had seafood platter which is not really a platter. They lost some cool points for that one it's only a few pieces of shrimp with a piece of cod. That is so not a platter not even in ireland. Lol. But it was fresh Seafood shrimp was a little overcooked. Couldn't go with the Schnitzel I may try it one day but I just feel it's fried chicken breast. Just with another name. The shepherd's pie was decent. I really enjoyed their wings they have TVs everywhere. Their TVs are so clear they make you feel like you're on the field also. We had a large family party for lunch on a Friday and decided on Ireland's Own from someone's recommendation for a great place to eat. We were happy to be seated right away (party of ten) and have the game room where we were seated for four kids to run around and play. The food was amazing, the service was quick and friendly, and a shout-out to the manager here. He was quick to come out and fix a broken game and after spending what I feel like was an insane amount of money on the claw machine for a Yoshi for my five year old he traded his Luigi he had already won for one. Gaming section, sports bar section, restaurant etc. We went to celebrate a.birthday and to watch a particular soccer game and they had it on multiple screens making it easy to watch. We ordered a bunch of different items and all were very good. German food and Irish food. They have a good selection of both German and Irish as well as local beers to choose from. My friend wanted to take me to lunch on Monday. I had never even heard of this place. I'm so glad she suggested it! The place is HUGE and has a game room for kids! How amazing is that! My grandson will love it. The food was okay, not the best I've had, not the worst. The Fish and Chips is straight up Beer Battered Cod and I wasn't a huge fan. But the service more than made up for it. They didn't have Fried Pickles on the menu at all but the waitress said let me ask the Chef.. he whipped up some in a matter of minutes! Unbeatable service. The Pickles were satisfactory but could have used a little more crunch. But for something not usually on the menu they were so good to have. Because my friend and I were gabbing so much I didn't get photos. I also don't know the cost of the meal because she paid. I got the fish and chips which I believe were 15 dollars. She got chicken strips. Plus the Fried Pickles and sodas. I am not finished with this place. The atmosphere and service alone will have me going back to try as many things on the menu as possible. Ok, so I've been to Ireland's own probably 15 times. If you're looking for a place to watch the game, shoot some pool or play arcade games, it's a great spot. However... this is a restaurant and I'm sorry to say but the food is terrible. We ordered mozzarella sticks which came out cold and like little smushed patties, the Irish nachos which were also cold and basically just potato chips with sour cream all over them. We also ordered the kids cheese burger and chicken fingers. The chicken fingers looked ok but the cheese burger looked absolutely terrible. Even the 7 year old commented on how gross it looked. She took a couple bites and wouldn't eat it, which with kids that's sometimes no fault of the restaurant but her dad tried it and he wouldn't even eat it. Long story short, only come here if you're not hungry. Great place to hangout and they often have live music but probably some of the worst food I've had in awhile. read more

Her name is Kierstin, and she was fantastic. As busy as she was, she still was able to attend to all of her customers! She always smiled and made eye contact with us. As far a the restaurant itself, it's a great place to watch sports! Lots of TV's and plenty of bar seating. The food was absolutely outstanding! I had the prime rib and my wife had the fish and chips. My prime rib was done exactly as I wanted, medium rare! Although I personally don't like seafood, my wife said the fish was excellent.
